The Heat!!

Anyone else having trouble working out with the heat. Last night I could only get through Interval 7 of IMAX before I got lightheaded and a little nauseous (sp). Even though it's ten degrees cooler in my basement and I had 3 fans blowing on me, I just couldn't finish it. Today I decided to take my dog for a walk instead of a workout and we go to the corner of my street and her poor feet were burning so I cam back home. I did P.S. upper body and decided to do an easier step tape so I did Body Tech. I thought it would never end - I was soooo hot!! The sweat was pouring all over the step, but I did finish it. The next five days will again be in the 90's. Oh well, I won't complain too much. I do love the summer. However, I'm not looking forward to working out tomorrow.

me too. I have only managed 2 cardios this week. I can't face the idea of it most days with this humidity and heat. It's usually 76 degrees in Michigan in June but this past week we've had a heatwave, real feel 90's daily. Disgusting.

I have 2 fans on me in my non-a/c house, and I can manage weight lifting and core work, so I'm at least keeping up with that.

I figure whatever you can manage on the hot days, and then cardio-bunnify yourself on the less hot days.

That's my policy,

I'm definitely struggling. I usually run 50 miles/week - this week I ran 9! I just can't tolerate the heat/humidity. I have a spinning bike in the basement that I use when I can't run outdoors, but I'm getting so bored on it and I miss running!

Oh my! Yesterday it got so hot that I had to pause Low Max more than 10 times to drink water and use a towel on my face. And I always exercise with A/C!!! I had the choreo down the first time, but this time I kept missing steps and I had to rewind and try them again. But I finished it. I can't use the heat as an excuse not to exercise because in the summer is hot and humid every day over here.

It's a miracle I haven't slipped off the step or the mat and hurt myself because of the puddle that forms on it halfway through the workout.

It's not officially summer yet, but my arms are so tan already, despite the sunblock. My face and neck aren't that tan, but they have some color. The rest of me is lighter. Not a good look. But I'm not into tanning lotions or beds, so I'm just gonna have to look freakishly multi-tonal 'til October.:7

Yes, it is a struggle for me as I am still doing Garden Max too. When the dewpoint gets in the 70's it is very hard on the body....even a fit one. I am still getting the weeds out of my garden alittle at a time. I wait until the clouds roll in and rush out for a bit, if it is a partly cloudly day. I can't get out in the AM because I like to get my workouts in first or I never will this time of the year then it gets too hot for gardening with high dewpoints. I wanted to run this evening, but just zapped of energy so instead walked the dog. My dog has never walked with me before as she is my running partner. When we go out, we run. Needless to say, she looked at me strange when I wasn't running as if something was wrong. LOL
