Teaching while pregnant

Hi Cathe,

DH and I are going to start TTC very soon, and I started to wonder about my step class that I teach. The last Wed. of each month, I kick the class up a notch and teach intervals (very similar to the format of your IMAX's). My question is.... when you found out that you were pregnant with your children, how did you get around telling everyone that you were pregnant? My class looks forward to this workout every month, and since you are not supposed to do interval-type work when you are pregnant, but yet, not share the news of pregnancy too early, how do you get around this?
I would appreciate your advice on how to handle this. I know I may be worrying too soon (we haven't even started really trying yet :))but I wanted to see what you thought.

I hope your calf is feeling better every day! I adore your workouts! Keep up the great work!!!!

Hi Stepper86! How fun to anticipate the making of your family nest egg :) Well, I didn't have this dilemma since I shared my news pretty much right away. Of course you need to do what you are comfortable with as far as when to share the news.

As far as what to do when teaching at that time, your health as well as your baby's is of the utmost importance so if you don't want to share the news with your class, you could either get the class covered that week or talk them through and tell them you not going to be jumping because you are not feeling good that particular day.

Good luck!

Cathe,

Thanks so much for answering my question! Your advice was excellent, as usual :) When that bridge comes to cross, I will think of you when I share my news with my class!

Good luck with your upcoming doctors appointment. I hope that you get the good news that you have been longing for!

Thanks for all that you do. It just blows my mind that someone could have such a profound impact on the lives of so many. You truly are an inspiration! Not just because of the amazing workouts that you provide, but because of the grace in which you carry yourself. You are one inspiring little lady! Keep up the amazing work.

Warm regards,

Stephanie
