TAKING A WEEK OFF

Hi Cathe, I've been doing your MIS video for 5 months - I really enjoy it! However, I know it's time to rotate and I want to start the PS tapes. I've thought I've read some posts where you suggested taking a week off when changing your rotation. Is this true? If so, what are the benefits of taking a 1 week rest? I work out 5 days a week (cardio & weights)and I can't imagine every taking a break. I'm addicted to exercise! But if you persuade me to the benefits of resting, I'll certainly listen. Thanks for your advise and looking forward to your the new videos!!!

Days Off

Recently, I went on vacation and took 4 days off. When I returned to my workout routine I performed better, harder, and longer than I had for a long time. I have real psychological difficulty on those "rest period" days, but when I return to my workouts, I realize that the rest benefitted me as much as my hard workouts!

Didn't mean to butt in, but some of your posts sound like me talking and echo questions I have or have had.

Hi Mary Ann!

The biggest and most beneficial benefits that rest provides is muscle repair and muscle restoration. It also helps to prevent boredom, burnout and overtraining which can lead to injuries. Its wonderful that you enjoy exercising so much....rest will certainly be helpful in maintaining this enthusiasm
