Summer Check In, Sunday August 14

Hi all

Welcome back, Kali! We missed you. I'm glad you had a good time on vacation. I hope you didn't have your cold during the vacation.
If you don't mind, I'd also be interested in looking at Carole's rotation. I'm trying to incorporate some freestyle training into my routine so I'd love to see what the expert ;) recommends.

I think the workout gods are against me. I am having such a tough time working out everyday. Yesterday was my sister's college graduation. I planned on working out when I got home. Well, it was storming by the time I got home and while I was eating a snack the electricity went out and was out for 5 hours! It went out at 4 and it was so dark in my apartment so I called some friends and caught up with some people I haven't talked to. No workout though. I'm going to run this morning and get that in before anything else goes wrong.

What's on everyone's agenda today? This afternoon I have a family get together for my Grandma's birthday. I'm looking forward to it since I haven't seen a lot of my family since Christmas.

Hello,

Kali-Are you getting settled back at home. I always hate the unpacking and laundy etc after a trip.

Jessica-Yep sounds like working out was not in the cards for you yesterday. I hate when that happens!

I am going to do abs today and take the day as a rest day.

The workout gods are against me again. This morning I woke up planning on going for a run well I get to the fitness center in my apt. complex and right when I start to warm up my discman falls on the ground and breaks! I CANNOT run without music, well I suppose I can but not for very long. So i am super aggravated because last night we set up our dining room which meant all the unpacked boxes and random stuff waiting to find a home is packed in our living room and spare bedroom - leaving me no room to work out. so no work out for me yet. I have been working on my article for law review so at least the whole day wasn't wasted. SO is working on emptying the boxes in the living room (they hold his stuff) so that I can hopefully work out this evening after my family get together.

Hi Guys!
I just put the last beach blanket in the dryer! I hate the laundry after vacation! x(
I got up early and walked this morning to beat the heat. It is really bad here. I've decided to chuck the rotation and do cardio and freestyle for the next 8-12 weeks. I'll post the rotation Carole made for me Jess. It's total body for 4 days. I think I'm going to try it that way for a while. I like working total body every day.

I weighed in this morning and I thought for sure there would need to be damage control after vacation but I LOST 2 lbs.!:7 I couldn't believe it! I have lost 10 lbs since I got serious about Cathe at the end of June. I guess all this insanity and hard work is paying off!

My cold isn't too bad today. I got it on the last day of vacation. It really sucks having a sinus infection and cough in the summer.x(

Back to it tomorrow. I am going to do an hour of cardio and then Day 1 of my freestyle workout. Now I'll have to get that damn book they all talk about.

Kali , I have a question about doing total body everyday. I thought we were suppose to rest a day between upper and lower body. You know like one day upper then do lower the next so you give the muscles time to heal. Is this different since the weight is light so you can do fullbody everyday? Congrats on the weight loss!

Jessica-I feel bad for your yet another workout disaster. I think at that point I would have cried! Is your dic player fixable? If not go get a new one soon:) I hope your SO gets things cleared up so you can workout.
