Hello All!

Surprise! This is the first time I've started the thread as I'm up after seeing DH off for a brief business trip. My workouts have been a bit spotty as we went away last week to FL for a seminar and I was a bit under the weather the week before that- yikes! :) Yesterday was a wash but it was OK as it was my birthday and DH took the day off to spend it with me. He took me out to the mall to pick out a few charms for my bracelet and then to our favorite sushi restaurant for sashimi- it was a very nice day. Well, I have BC planned for today, light cardio for tomorrow, pyramid (full) for Thurs, KPC for Fri and rebounding for Sat (did PP on Mon). I'm really enjoying BC!

Sabine- welcome back! I've missed seeing your posts. So glad Hawaii was fantastic and I loved reading about your trip. Also, terrific workouts while you were there- I was very impressed!:) Sorry you were not feeling well for a while- hope you're getting better! BTW, I liked your bicep curls with Lava Flows...:+

Kathy- I'm sorry to hear about your mom. It must be so difficult for you and your family to deal with her issues. I'm sending you a hug, OK? Also I echo what Lisa expressed (and very well, I might add!)in her post. We're all here for you and think you're doing great! Please take good care of yourself!

Lisa- so glad to hear about Michael! Yaaay!!! I know it must be such a relief for all of you. You are such a kind and caring person- I'm glad I *know* you (in the cyber sense!). Also happy to hear that you're back to enjoying your workouts after the bout you've had!

Pinky- how are you? Are you able to make time for yourself? I don't know if you were able to read one of my posts a few weeks ago about setting aside some time for yourself. You're a mom but you're also a person with dreams, ambitions and desires- you're already a wonderful role model for Andrew and taking the time to pursue your dreams will only enhance that for him. Maybe you and one of his friends can take turns having playdates at each other's home so that you can take some time for you. Glad to see you're having really good workouts! Take care!

Susan- my goals are to firm up more. I've noticed that since I turned forty, I've developed a bit of a pooch and gained some weight. At times, I felt my body was betraying me because I was working out and watching my diet and portions and still the weight remained. Since I've found and incorporated Cathe (heavier lifting and more cardio) in addition to Taekwondo that I've firmed up pretty good. I'm still not where I want to be but I'm getting there.

Cindee- how's your bike training coming along? It is such a terrific endeavor and I'm really excited for you. Please keep us posted!

Well, I've blabbed enough :). I think I'm going to try to get a bit of shut-eye and get up and workout in the afternoon. Hellos to everyone else- sorry but grogginess is kicking in. Take care all!

Elizabeth

Hi everyone,

Well I never made it on my run like I had planned. My husband said he wanted to go and he ended up getting home too late ~ then it poured outside. I’ll try tonight, for sure. This morning I did PLB. I did the ball section twice and PUB abs. I still, to this day cannot do the second set of pikes! x( Someday…

Elizabeth, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :) Isn’t it nice to be taken out to pick out a gift for yourself? Do you get charms that represent your children or are they decorative? I enjoy BC workout too. Hope you get to it today.

Lori, I’m glad to hear your MIL is doing very well. What a relief right? I almost did LL this morning, but I haven’t done PLB in quite a while so I gave that workout a whirl today. Tough stuff. BTW, how far do you run?

Kathy, sorry to hear your mother is an alcoholic. Maybe your dad could take her to a rehab of some sort. On another note, with what you said about your SIL, I totally know what you mean My sister on the other hand, is a little taller w/ longer legs and normal size feet (mine are children’s’ size 2.5). She hates to exercise, period. What she does is starve herself; not that she looks stick thin, but she has more of a model look you could say. We’ll go out shopping or something, and I notice more people (men in general) look at her. She can wear high heals and show her thin straight legs big fake boobs and bright blond hair. I’m shorter and a bit muscular. I look like I could be Cathe’s sister than my own.

Lisa, I’m glad to hear you and Michael are doing better and that you’re getting your workouts in. Thank you for explaining what Lotte Berk and the other different types of workouts are. They sound good to try in between heavy lifting workouts. When I was doing one body part /day, I felt doing legs just once a week just wasn’t enough.

Pinky, I bet it’s helpful to explain to your son how you feel. I know sometimes my son gets upset with me when I have things to do. He’ll say, “Play with me!” Sometimes I wish I had another kid just for his sake! Nah, scratch that. Haha. Keep going with your workouts. I know for me, it’s difficult to start up when there has been a set back.

Thank you all for informing me of your workout goals. It was interesting to hear.

Big Hi’s to everyone else who checks in!

Good Morning everyone,

I am slowly recovering from my cold. At least my head doesn't feel quite so congested and tippy as it has for the past few days. I'm taking it easy this week and just doing my 'bare minimum' as I'm in a wedding this weekend and don't want to be coughing or sneezing or sounding all deep and raspy!

So in keeping with my 'lighter' week I did Slim Series Firm It Up, the lower body tape. Even though I didn't use any weight (you can use ankle weights if you want) I felt this workout! The floorwork is pretty tough. I'm pretty sure I'll be feeling it in my butt tomorrow. While I wish the series had better music, the workouts themselves don't seem that bad. I wouldn't necessarily say they're advanced since the weight is so light or not there. But the aren't really easy either (in fact, some moves are just flame fests for my muscles) because you have some many reps to complete. Overall, I think I'm liking the change of pace, especially since I'm a bit under the weather.

Good to 'see' you Elizabeth! Sounds like things are going well for you. And a big happy birthday to you! Sounds like you had a wonderful day with your DH.

Big hugs to you Kathy. Whenever you want some support, I'm here!

Cindee- Isn't the bike ride coming up in July? How's the training going?

Have a terrific day everyone!

Hi Sabine,
your smart to take it easy since you have a big weekend coming up. Since you worked out so much during your vacation, I bet your dress still fits perfectly.
I saw your post about spicy foods. It does make sence, but I would think someone would have to cosume quite a bit before it made a difference. But it made me remember, once I heard, if you drink really, really cold water, your body burns calories by trying to keep you warm (or something to that effect).

You are all so sweet thank you for your support! I really appreciate it.
Well, my mom is sobering up today, I think. I am not there so I don't really know, but that is what my dad is saying. He doesn't want to spend the money on treatment because she's been through it soo many times she know is by heart. She keeps trying to say that it's her medication, so the doctors switch it up, and then she goes back to drinking. So, I am at a loss and have just come to expect that she is going to do this every so often. But when she goes as far as she did this time I get upset. I'm not really willing to say what all happened, but it was bad.
Anyway, yesterday I ended up going to tee ball and watching my son instead of working out. It was a good time, they were all so cute! So, this morning I went for a walk/jog. Only about 35 min though, my outside of my ankles started to hurt, so I'm thinking that i have the wrong shoes for that. I am going to have to invest in a new pair of shoes I think if I want to start jogging. Or just take my good shoes and actually let them be outside. But I'm not always willing to do that, because it means getting my carpet more dirty than it already is. OH well, maybe I'll do it anyway on Friday and see how it goes. This afternoon I may do pyramid up only of lower and upper body to get a full body workout in. That sounds like a good idea since I haven't toned anything yet this week. Not good.
Well, I will talk to you all later! Have a great day!

Kathy

Good afternoon. Kathy, I went back to other posts but somewhere along the line I missed the situation with your mom. I, too, send you a hug and a prayer.

Glad Michael, Lisa, and Sabine are feeling better!

Pinky, the Powerbars come in handy, don't they? They really digest quickly. When we went on the 100km ride I felt better on the second half because I was steadily consuming Gatorade, some orange slices, and half a Powerbar here and there. I need to get past the thinking that if I need more than water I'm a whimp...or that I'll gain weight! At home with Cathe, just water is okay.

Elizabeth, I thought of you the other day because "Multiplicity" was on TBN or some cable channel! Ha! :7 The biking is going well...yesterday was 20 miles on a different route over rolling hills...really beautiful!

Well, I'm baby-sitting 2 children (one of whom is 3) and I'd better get back to actually watching them! Hi to everyone!
