Speaking of workout OCD...CAT HAIR!!!!

Ok, I need help. I realized when reading the OCD thread the other day that this is the perfect place to seek it!

One of my workout irritants is getting cat hair on my sweaty face because it's annoying and it tickles!!

A year ago I got 2 adorable long-haired gray kittens, Lulu and Kiki aka Loco and KooKoo. I love them dearly - but - I cannot seem to stay on top of all the cat hair. My vacuum "sucks" because it doesn't.

Do any of you have a vacuum cleaner you swear by? And for those of you fellow kitty-lovers or others with pet hair, any tricks?

I brush them all the time but it doesn't seem to help much...

My vacuum cleaner does well. It is a panasonic. However, I have hardwood flooring in the diningroom and livingroom and I find cat fur balls here and there and I just use my swifter to get them up. Does a great job.

Get a Dyson - it sucks up pet hair (and dirt and everything else) like magic. Best vacuum I've ever had. Very pricey, but worth every penny if you're a pet owner. :)

I have a dirt devil windtunnel that i think works pretty well, but with two shedding cats and a very shedding little dog, it is an ongoing process in my household.

Just want to add, my SIL has two big german shepards that shed like crazy and she swears by the DYSON. I'm just too cheap to spend that much on a vaccuum cleaner:)

I'm not kidding, but I used to vacuum my last dog using the brush attachment. She loved it and I think it kept the house cleaner. My present dog runs the other way when the vacuum comes on so it's not an option with her.

I'm really liking my Hoover bagless vacuum just because I can see how full it's getting and it's really easy to empty. With pets, the bags just fill up so fast! Sometimes I get so much dog hair in the container I think I can knit another dog out of it LOL.

Yes I'm OCD about the hair too. I hate working out when the floor needs vacuuming.

Thanks everyone. I'm seriously considering biting the bullet and buying a Dyson. But yeah, ka-ching!!

Hadn't thought about vacuuming the little buggers. Might have to give that a try! ;-)

Thanks!

When my BF and I move to Florida we're *definitely* getting a place with hardwood or tile floors throughout. SO much easier to clean with a swiffer - and once we combine our households we'll have FOUR long-haired cats!! A circus!!

I have hardwood floors. Will the Dyson still help? I too, hate cat & dog hair & Lord knows I have too many running around.

I bought my Dyson "ANIMAL" in January. I have two cats and two dogs - they all shed. I have wall to wall, hardwood, ceramic tile and upholstered furniture. This vacuum is worth every penny I spent on it. My home has never been so "HAIR FREE". I LOVE IT!

Yes, the Dyson is fabulous on hardwood! :) I use my Dyson instead of a broom or Swiffer, it's great. It has settings for bare floors and carpet (basically just turning the beater brush off and on). I have the "Animal" too, but I don't think they sell this one anymore (at least it's not on the Dyson website). Mine is a few years old, so no doubt there are different models available now. :)

For getting cat hair off carpet or upholstery, a squeegie works well. I got one from a pet store (don't remember which one). It works great for getting the hair off of the carpeted cat "towers" I have, while a vaccuum wouldn't even come close to getting it all off.

I sometimes think I must have hairballs!
