Shoes for wide feet??

If anyone out there with wide feet like me can offer any suggestions on good workout shoes, I'd appreciate it!! I've tried several different pairs and my feet always end up numb and tingly by the end of the workout. If I losen them up then my ankle area is too lose.

New Balance! Not all of their shoes come in extra-wide, but a few styles do. I think mine are style 609.

Also, Propet makes great shoes, but I think only walking shoes - none that claim to be runners or cross-trainers. Still, they are VERY comfortable.

I highly recommend New Balance also. Both my hubby and daughter have WIDE feet and New Balance is the only brand that can fit their feet.

I've done asics and new balance.

My problem is that I have a regular length arch but my toes are short! Very funky and difficult to fit.

I think I have decided to get the ryka half-high tops next time. I think they will be able to give me the heel stability that I need and have a hard time getting.

I struggle with shoe fit and also flat feet although I ahve figured out how to not have my arches ache!!!

Also make sure to take the whole foot into account. I have wide feet AND high arches so had to be sure to find a shoe that fit both conditions.

I also have a wide foot with high arches. In December I actually had my feet measured and I bought the Nike Air mid 60's. They are mesh material, but fit great. for me these were better than NB or Ryka's. I sure learned a lot about athletic shoes. It really is a good idea to have your feet properly fitted for shoes. I learned that one of my problems is that I was wearing shoes 1 half size to small. Go figure!

Some the Ryka's come in wide widths that you can special order through the lady foot locker catalog. I did that for the KM5 runners. When you place your order at the store, there is no charge for the shipping.

Road Runner Sports (roadrunnersports.com) carries alot of wide widths. They have some cross trainers besides running and walking shoes.

Same here on the Nike mesh shoes. I couldn't run at all until I got these. My feet just killed me. Like you, I have high arches and wide toes, but my heels are really narrow. Hard to find shoes that fit. In addition, I had nerve damage from a time when my diabetes was out of control. But now, with the diabetes under control without meds and the mesh shoes, just watch me go!
