Questions for Lift, Move & Restore 2 Elevated - Questions??

Guess I'm still the "odd-ball, black sheep" not jumping on it
Nothing odd about it @Debinmi ! We're all unique in our preferences and comfort levels. Saying this as someone who used to never jump on pre-sales.

As far as functionality and mobility not being necessary unless you're injured... never thought of it that way. I guess it's up to everyone's preferred end goals. I'm of mind "use it or lose it".

Functional Training: Not Just for Athletes or Agers—It’s for YOU!

One fabulous fact about functional training is that it can be performed by anyone, from a fitness novice right through to an athlete. We’ve talked a lot lately about the importance of functional training as we age to support fall and injury prevention and muscle retention, but we haven’t necessarily focused on what functional training can do for those who are still in their fitness prime and aren’t quite at the point where they are looking ahead to the needs of their bodies as they age.
Functional training improves the way that the body moves by enhancing our efficiency, our power output, our coordination, our balance, and our overall fitness capacity. For athletes, all these elements add up to better performance, improved speed and power, the ability to change directions quickly as needed, and a great reduction in the chances that they will end up sidelined with an injury that knocks them off their game.
So, what does that mean for those of us who fall somewhere in between the level of athlete and active ager? It means that we can take advantage of all the performance enhancing benefits to make our workouts more effective while also setting ourselves up with the tools and elements that we will need as we move into future phases of our fitness lifestyle.
My new Lift, Move & Restore 2: ELEVATED! series was created to do just this! The workouts and bonuses in this series will take the foundation that was laid by the original LMR series and will add an upgraded level of strength and intensity to help improve your athletic performance and challenge your body and mind. At the same time, we will still be working within the framework of functional training, guiding our bodies through movements that will foster the abilities that we need to keep sharp and independent as we age.
I have received some questions from individuals who were very happy and satisfied with the intensity level of the original series and are a bit worried about the “elevated” nature of LMR2. Rest assured that these workouts can also be modified down where necessary so that exercisers at a more intermediate level can still enjoy and reap the benefits of these functional training routines.
As always, we’re in this together, and I can’t wait to get started.
Don’t wait—elevate your fitness today! ️‍♀️

There you go…that’s what I have been looking for….gonna trust Cathe on this….

Hee hee, who knows? If they are for actively aging adults, they should only be
so advanced IMO……as long as someone is showing modifications, I should be happy,
and as long as the cardio workouts are low impact….. I guess there, someone could be
modifying up, so to speak……as far as weights, I will use what I want to use, not giving
that a second thought….

I never hesitate to buy Cathe's series and I have not been disappointed by LMR. I find her workouts to be excellent no matter what and I don't expect them to be tailor made for me. She provides quality workouts that, if need be, I can change whenever I wish. For example, I recently mentioned how I don't stand as much when doing the spin workouts. I prefer to mostly stay seated. I still find the workouts effective when I'm seated and they help challenge me and give structure to my ride instead of absentmindedly sitting and spinning while watching a show. Some other workouts I follow to a T. The old saying works best here: you get out of it what you put into it.

Now you all have me laughing with the “no animal moves” followed by “no insect moves either.” :D:D Personally I like the scorpion move, but I wasn’t a fan of the super quick gorilla move from side to side—that was the gorilla move, right?

I can’t see her doing burpees or the like in any of the LMR series. Actually I think they might be too jarring for her shoulder and knee?

I also thought the newest video was a bit vague, at least vaguer than I was hoping for! It didn’t really convince me one way or the other. I’m not sure why 20 pound weights should make anyone nervous, just go lighter—I know I do if needed! I’d rather have the option to go heavier, and for me that means the moves should be slower. It’s hard for me to modify with heavier weight if the moves are too quick.

I'm taking a look at LMR this weekend, in case I'm being too harsh. That may help. One problem is simply time. Do I have enough time to dedicate myself to a functional workout without giving up what I am doing now? Cathe has said this transition needs to take place, but I remain unconvinced. So my indecision continues. Ordering the series and deciding when more is known is my most likely course of action now.

Scorpion has grown on me. Used to not like it because it hurt my breasts, but I guess they've developed tolerance for it now as it doesn't bother me anymore. I love all the deep stretch, twist-yourself-into-a-pretzel moves. I feel proud of myself working through them, and overall, I enjoy anything that improves my mobility and flexibility.

I told my doc that I will continue to do what I am doing until I no longer can. He wholeheartedly agrees and supports this and has never told me I need to transition to something else. Cathe can’t know my body and I’m fortunate not to have experienced the injuries she has dealt with in her career as a fitness professional. Her situation has no doubt impacted her viewpoint on exercise while aging, as mine has on me.

Yes, there is definitely the matter of time! So many choices of workouts and not enough time to fit them all in!

I’d like to see someone put together an “all animal moves” workout! Maybe someone already has!

I like the scorpion move
Anyone wondering, here's the clip.

A voluptuous chest can get in the way but we shall do our best around it
