Pull Up/Chin up bars

Does anyone know of any pull up/chin up bars that DO NOT have to be mounted? Sounds like a stupid quesion, but I want to make sure. I want to use one at work, but can't drill into walls, etc. I thought on Power 90X, it looked like the ones they are using are not mounted...I could be wrong. I just hate to use those stupid bands....

I don't know the answer Janice, but I wonder if there's something out there you could set on the floor and use that way? By pulling yourself up off the floor? I don't know if it would work the muscles in exactly the same way, but it would solve the problem of having to drill holes in your walls or ceiling, which I can totally understand your not wanting to do!!

No Carol, I don't think that would work. That would be like Hammer Curls.

For those of you that got the B-Lines resistance bands, how heavy can I go if I just want to use them for pull up exercises? Should I get 50% of my body weight or more? Looks like either way I would order for a man. That would work somewhat like an assissted pull up, I would be actually pulling 50% off my body weight. Does that sound right? I need these for work.
 
Hi Janice. The Door Gym doesn't need to be mounted. It's a great piece of equipment that doubles up as a push up bar. I got mine from a seller at Ebay who was selling like 25 of them in one auction, so well all got our Door Gym for a lot less than any where else.

It says it has to be "mounted". It cannot harm the door or wall in anyway for me to be able to bring it to work. Do you have one and does it leave marks/drilling? I appreciate the information...

Hi Janice. Hmmm, I have the Door Gym and it doesn't have to be mounted at all. It has a little safety wedge that fits between the trim of your door and wall. It takes only a second to set up and take down.

There are other bars that do have to be mounted, but the Door gym isn't one of them.

Thanks for your help on this one. This looks like it may work very well. However, my door at work is extra wide, so I would need the extensions. So far, I see that you can only get the extensions at doorgym.net, but they only take PayPal and I have no money in my PP account right now!! Arrgghh!


Can I pay through Paypal with my debit without actually "transferring" the funds? It says it takes 3-4 days. I HATE sites that only take PP...

Hi Janice. Try calling 1-800-319-9917. This is their customer service dept. number. You will get the option to leave a voice message and they'll call you back pretty quickly. When they do call back, ask them if you can place an order over the phone with a cc.

Yep, they took my order over the phone, for the extensions. I ordered the actual DoorGym and Broad Reach bar from Amazon (I had a gift certificate to use). I hope it works. My door at work is too wide (around 40in), so I needed the extensions. Again, thanks for all your help. That is a cool little device!:)

Hi Janice. I'm glad that it worked out. :) I think you will be very happy with the Door Gym. It's a great piece of equipment.

The prices on the Door Gym vary depending on who you are going to be buying it through. I personally got a heck of a deal via Ebay. The seller had a multi auction and we all got our Door Gyms for around $30.00.
