Please look at my regime...

No flaming please! I just need your honest opinion on advice given to me by a sports nutritionist.

I am 5’1” and 117 pounds and 29% body fat. I want to lose 10 pounds, and although I know I can’t spot reduce, my visible fat is just around my stomach. I went to a sports nutrition store and was given the following diet and supplements to follow for 2 – 4 weeks:

Breakfast: 3 egg whites, ½ bagel with peanut butter

Morning snack: protein shake and 1 fruit

Lunch: 4 oz. chicken breast, 1 cup of broccoli and ½ baked potato

Afternoon snack: protein shake and 16 almonds

Dinner: 4 oz. chicken breast, 2 cups of broccoli

I entered this information in Fitday and found it was roughly under 1,500 calories.

I am taking Venom Hyperdrive 3.0 (fat burner), CLAs, EFAs, and a colon cleanser.

I work out with Cathe about 5 days a week, 3 days of it cardio. It’s been 5 days, and I’m already feeling discouraged. The diet is so very strict. No salt, no sugar. I also feel like I’m losing weight in the wrong places (boobs and butt). I’m curious to see how this diet stacks up to the Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle book.

Am I on the right track? I need some encouragement.

No flames, but I will be honest. :)

Did the nutritionist recommend the fat burner? Given the truly sketchy nature of anything marketed as a "fat burner" (i.e. side effects, validity of claims made, etc) I would seriously question the ability of a "nutritionist" who recommended them.

The menu, isn't totally off-base, but it's way more spartan than anything I could live on.

If you want another sports nutrition angle, I'd recommend out some of Nancy Clark's books.
