Personal question/workout underwear at the gym

When I exercise with my running shorts and yoga capri's, I generally don't wear underwear. Sometimes, i will wear my running shorts under some other loose athletic pants. That seems to help with moisture control.

In the gym, I have had to stick with black pants since any other color turns out to be too revealing.

Does anyone have suggestions for managing your sweat in public gym classes?

Yeah.........Don't care. That's my advice. Who cares if you sweat and you look nasty.......then everyone knows you are working!!LOL!

That is pretty much my philosophy also. I am clean, my clothes are clean, but I get sweaty. Oh well. If you don't like sweaty people, don't go to the gym.

Hi

I dont have the answer, but I DO relate to you. I always wear black to the gym because it only took me ONE time to wear a lighter colour pant, and within 20minutes my crotch looked like I had no bladder control. I must say I felt very uncomfortable and self conscious with the LOOK that portrayed to everyone.

There is one woman at my gym who doesnt care. She always wears a white crop top - no bra underneath (looks great when she arrives) but half way through class, its like shes entered a wet t-shirt concert - not for me thanks!!!

At home I dont give a hootin nanny about the sweat patches

Yikes! What a visual! I'm glad there aren't exhibitionists like that at our gym. Only one guy who comes every morning in the SAME outfit. Black faded t-shirt with the chest cut out,(eeeww), faded black cargo shorts, nasty, dirty shoes and a black headband.

Thanks for everyone's informed feedback!!

Hi Smurfette:

I have the same problem too when I go to the gym. If I wear underwear (or a thong) it seems to help w/ the sweat patches somewhat but not entirely.

I am kind of embarrassed about it too, but I do my cardio after weights on my "gym" days, so right after I am done, I am heading for the locker room for a shower.

Take care, Lynn M.

I wear a thong for my more revealing pants, but other than that I go commando.

Hey, kind of o/t, does anyone else have male members of their gym who wear the skin tight spandex pants/shorts? Is it just me, or is this WAY too much information? And why does it always seem to be men in their 50s? Maybe it would be more tolerable if it were the guys in their 20s LOL. }( Either way, I usually appreciate a guy's look more when they leave something to the imagination.........

Yeah, I totally know the type!! ewwwwwww.

They are usually the same guys who wear red speedos to the beach, too!

It looks like I'm missing out on some interesting clothing scenarios at my gym. I work with 95% of the people who use my gym. They all dress pretty tame (and believe me, I'm very grateful), but if any of them showed up in spandex I'd be too busy holding in the giggles to get a good workout! I think there's some unspoken rule at my gym: dress conservatively and don't let anything hang or pop out, 'cause you still have to face these same people on and off throughout the work day.
