Good morning!

Where is everyone? no one posted yesterday except me!

I did CLX Burn Circuit One this morning, it's a heavy weight workout, however you only do one set of everything, some things are compound exercises, where you are doing one upper and one lower at the same time...I will let you know how it is if I have DOMS tomorrow..

DH is on Poop Patrol, then we are taking the dogs for a walk, then more stuff to do around here...

I hate the fact that we lost that hour last night...it makes if feel like the day is flying by!

Hope everyone has a good weekend, what is left of it!

Hi Deb and any later posters--

I repeated disk 7 (55 min.). This one really gives me a burn in my shoulders and chest--not so much my bis.

So I woke up Friday morning, and my wrist looked like I had been bitten by something. 3 little red marks. By the end of the day, it looked like a massive bruise. No pain or anything, but on Saturday morning I decided to go online to see about spider bites. OMG! Scared me to death, so I called my doctor and he met me at the clinic 15 min. later. He said it looked like whatever critter bit me must have hit a vein, which is why it looked like a big bruise. But no heat, soreness, itching, and no little nodule of pus, so I was sent on my way. It really did scare me, though, looking at these awful pictures of staph infections caused by spider bites.

I went to see He's So Not Into You yesterday--after my visit with the doctor. A little sad, a little funny. I'm glad DH didn't go with me. Really warm here both yesterday and today--in the 50s. Feels like spring, but I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

Hope CLX works for you, Deb! The important thing is to find something you feel comfortable doing on a regular basis.

I miss my extra hour of sleep. It was really hard getting up this morning. I also heard that heart attacks spike 5% after the "spring forward." Great!

Hello everyone,

I guess I'm the only one who likes the time change in the spring. For some reason it works with my crazy schedule.

Deb I live in St Peters, Mo just outside St Louis. Weather was good again today but very windy. It's started to get colder now and will be back to 25 degrees later in week.

Three disc on Sunday was just impossible. I did do disc 7.

Monday, Monday...

Good Morning!

Today I did an I-Tread, whew, it was tough!...It' rained and rained here last night, I am sure there will be a lot of flooding.

Garance, Yikes! very scary about the bite! I am surprised he didn;t give you some sort of anti-biotic, but then again, how would you know which to give? If there wasn't any itching etc, you probably did not get an infection. Yes that extra hour seems to make a difference doesn't it? I don;t like this new thing where the clock changing is on a different schedule! My computer clock did not change on it's own, like it used to.

Joan, I am glad you didn;t do 3 disks in one day! You would be wiped out for sure..I didn't remember where you were exactly but I knew it was not in a warm state!

Hi to Josie & Linny!...

Have a good day!

Hi Ladies,

I did 30 minutes on the elliptical, spinning and yoga on Saturday and walked 7 miles on Sunday. After all the wokouts on Saturday I was starving the rest of the day. I just could not get enough food. So I think that it was counter productive. I did not mean to do all those workouts at once, but I had time to kill.

Today I will be doing PUB at home. My upper body was very sore after yoga, I think that I will be adding yoga at least twice a week.

It is supposed to be in the high 50' here in LA. The weekend was very nice in the mid 60's.

Have a great day ladies!

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

I walked 5 miles with Leslie (63 min.).

Rain mixed with snow here, but I hope it does get colder. Our driveway is a muddy mess from all the melting and warm temps. DH will have to drag it again.

Hey Joan, we both did disk 7. What did you think? I really get a burn from all those pushups and in my shoulders with the front raise barbell and the side lateral dumbbell.

No problems from that bite. It just looks like a very bad bruise. I think whatever bit me crawled into my "sleeve" that I wear for carpal tunnel at night (too much knitting!), so now I thoroughly check the thing. DH also pulled the bed away from the wall and got rid of a lot of dust bunnies.

Speaking of bunnies--Josie of energizer fame, how can you do all of that in one day????

Still trying to decide whether I want to oversee a Chinese grad student. Spoke to a Fulbright representative who thinks it's a great idea--gratifying, fruitful, energizing, etc. But how needy will this person be?

Hi Ladies:
Almost didn't go to work today.Yesterday my B/P was 160/106 and then I started having a panic attack at 11:30 last night.I had to get up and turn on the lights and walk around downstairs for awhile. Finally took an ativan and fell to sleep.I think you're right about the heart attack spike that you heard about,Garance.I definitely have to do something about this weight and bloodpressure or I won't make my next birthday.
Deb: No rain for us but we did get about 5 inches of thick sticky snow.It was almost in the 60's this weekend than this happens.Have you been able to see pictures on picturetrail? They are under linnyrn.
Garance:So glad that your spider bite wasn't anything serious.I've seen some nasty necrotic ones.
Josie:Your temps sounded the same as ours this past weekend.
JoanC:So happy this weekend,my DH's accountant did our taxes and we thought it was going to be around $10,000 we'd owe but only was $3700.I quess we'll be able to do our kitchen sooner than we thought.
Have a good night~Linny~

It's Tuesday!

Good Morning!

I just finished CLX Burn Circuit 2. This series is different, in that you only do one set of 12 reps of each exercise, most of them are compound. It is definitely not traditional weight training, but I am doing it, so that is all that matters!,

Garance, I taped Dancing WTS last night, kind of strange not to have another show tonight. ( at least I hope there isn't because I didn;t set the tape up for one. I will watch last night's show tonight, while DH takes Keegan to school. I think you should skip the student overseeing..you are on sabbatical for crying out loud! Do I sound awful about this?

Josie, I think you overdid it! Your body must have needed the extra calories after all that working out!

Linny, I just went over and saw the pictures, very pretty, I love the woodwork! Who are the girls?..very scary on the BP...are you doing ok with the diet contest? Good News on the taxes!

Joan, we are hoping to see you when those returns are done!

Have a great day!

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did disk 8 (55 min.).

Sounds like CLX is "just right" for you, Deb. I watched DWTS last night while DH recorded 24 for me. There's a "Latin lover" type who did a great cha-cha, and Shawn Johnson with a beautiful waltz. I predict the Olympic gymnast Shawn will take the whole thing.

Oh, Linny, please take care on the bp! Are you on some kind of medication for this? Or is it due to the panic attack?

I finished a chapter yesterday, so I am trying to think of some way to reward myself. Maybe go shopping tomorrow? I need a new shower curtain and I have a Victoria's Secret coupon, so maybe . . .

It's Hump Day!

Good Morning!

I did an I-Tread this morning, but believe me I was trying to talk myself into going back to bed almost until I got on the treadmill.

Garance, I watched DWTS last night and I agree with you, those 2 were the top picks, the latin guy was great, but sometimes they are good at one style and not another so we'll see when he had to do the quick step!. I think you need to get the shower curtain and something at VS! You deserve it!

Where is everyone? It's rainy and cold here again, yuk! I can't wait for spring. DH came home with 2 small lilac bushes the other day and I want to get them in the ground. Is it too early to plant these? will they die if we get really cold weather?

Linny, how are you doing? Like Garance asked, are you on a BP med?

Josie did you get a workout in yesterday?

Joan, we know where you are!

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies,

I need some motivation. I can't seem to get myself back on track, I work out here and there, but it is not on a consitent basis. My cardio partner canceled on me yesterday and I could have done it by myself, but I ended up doing nothing. I'm supposed to walk this evening by the beach and maybe I get inspired.

There has been a lot of stress at work and home and sometimes I feel like what's the point!

Sorry ladies, just feeling a bit blue.

Josie

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did Kelly C-M's double kickbox (53 min.).

Josie, maybe you should do shorter workouts. When you do report working out, it always looks really intimidating. I know that I just plod along, but I figure 50-60 min. for 6 days per week is a good thing--for me. You should praise yourself, even if you only get in 20 min. per day. When you want to challenge yourself, you will, but don't feel like you have to do it all the time. Sorry you are feeling a bit blue. Maybe exercise will help.

Glad you agree with me about DWTS, Deb. I think the cha-cha guy also has one of the best partners--she's won twice--so that's a real advantage. Yep--tomorrow I'm headed to the mall. I wonder if I will be the only one there shopping, given the economy. Is it just my weird feeling, or is there a definite rise in random violence of a rather scary kind--shootings in Alabama, Illinois, Stuttgart?

Hope you are okay, Linny!

Hi to Joan!

Taking a break,

I'm up to 300 returns in with 250 done. During the day I have too many interruptions with phones and clients to exercise and at night I need to work and then it gets too late.

I guess I'll keep trying to do something whenever I can.

I think it may have been the incline hammer curl with band on disc 7. You were on incline bench but keep your head up. This really strained my neck. I had to ice it 2-3 hours before I could sleep.

Yea Linny I'm glad taxes were less.:D I hope you check out blood pressure. We always thought my ds had panic attacks because his heart would race and he thought he was going to die. His heart was racing. It took 10 years for a doctor to find out it was an electrical problem in heart.

Yea Garance Glad you finished chapter:D I know I always feel better when I can cross off something on my to do list.

Josie I hope beach walk does the trick. No words of advice I don't know how to get rid of stress either. I know exercise helps but sometimes it's just another stress when it's one more thing you have to do.

Deb I've heard good things about clx. I hope it works for you.

Joan

It's Thursday...almost the weekend!

Good Morning!

No workout today, I am off to Toronto ( again!) for a client meeting...sigh, I hate travelling..but it's part of the job.

Josie, sorry about all the stress, I hear you on the workout rut. Maybe what Garance suggested may be better, at least for now...just tell yourself you will do something for 30 minutes, max. If you get 30 minutes a day, it is better than one long workout a week..( listen to me, the one that has a scattered workout schedule!)...

Garance, yeah that cha cha guy was pretty Hot..he was in the Sex and the City movie I guess, which I did not see, so I did not recognize him at all. It is kind of funny, that even though the economy is so bad, people are all shopping and going about like normal, at least where I have gone. Yikes, scary stuff happening is right!

Joan, I am so amazed at all you have done and it's still not done!!! When tax season is over, you will not know what to do with yourself! LOL:D..

Have a great day ladies!

Hi Ladies,

I feel much better today. The beach walk was great and my behind feel a bit sore.
My friend and I walked and talked for 90 minutes and it this helped with the stress to.

We are planning on doing it again today since the weather is nice and the beach was beautiful.

Garance Joan and Deb, thank you for your imput, I will try what you are saying.

Liynny. Any new on your bp?

Josie

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did disk 9--so next week I will be doing 10,11,12 for the first run through.

I celebrated my chapter finish by going shopping today and to see Confessions of a Shopaholic. The mall was pretty empty, and I was the only person in the movie theater! It felt weird to be laughing away all by myself. I thought the movie was a bit lame, but Isla Fisher is really appealing.

So glad the ocean walk had a good effect on you, Josie. I find the ocean very restful, and there is no better exercise than walking, so pat yourself on the back.

Deb, the Latin fellow was one of Samantha's lovers, and he was really HOT!

Joan, I know what you mean about holding your head up on those biceps curls. If they really bother you, you should just put a pillow there to rest your head--like the ones for airplane travel?

Hope all is well with you Linny!

Hi Ladies:
Sorry haven't posted last few days.My boss has been out all week so its been crazy busy. We've had pc training all week plus have to do the normal work week stuff too.
Deb:Glad you could see the pictures, that means I did it right. The 2 girls are my DGD's age 9 and 14.They were anxiously awaiting for the Christmas present opening. I'll try to post some before and after of the diningroom. My DH knocked down part of the wall so that the hallway staircase is opened up.Really makes the diningroom look alot bigger.Hope your business trip was a success.
Garance: Did you buy anything nice for your self while you were at the mall?I did see the Shopaholic and agree it was kind of lame but was cutesy. B/P has been stable last few days.No I'm not any medication,I use to be and had to change med a few times due to lethargy. Its been 2 years since I had to take anything.I will probably start a b/p log and make a decision if I need to get back on again.
JoanC: Sounds like things are finally winding down.Your fingers must be all cramped up from all that typing.I don't think I have any cardiac issues.I had a stress test about 2 years ago and had a EKG last year. My MD wanted me to go see a therapist for the panic attacks about 6 months ago. They seemed to stop until the other night when I started having an attack.
Josie:Glad you got out and enjoyed the beautiful weather. When my DH and I went out there 2 years ago we walked the beach everyday.I love that restaruant on the dock called Ruby's.They have the best french toast I ever had.We are suppose to be in the high 40's this weekend:eek:
Have a great night~Linny~

Just got back from babysitting Elliot. Dil had a miscarriage. I think it is even harder for them because they do so much planning. They just had finished Elliot's new room. They had planned that the baby would be born in September and had already told her work she would be taking a year off. Tomorrow is more babysitting. Dil has to go back to doctor for ultrasound and Elliot has a fever and I am taking her to doctor.

Joan

TGIF!

Morning All,

No workout today, too tired.

Joan, so sorry about the miscarriage,,:(..sending((HUGS)))..

Josie, glad the beach walk made you feel better. That can be so invigorating and relaxing at the same time.

Garance, come on...give! what did you buy for yourself on your reward shopping trip?

Linny, I hope you can get to the bottom of this BP and panic attack issue. A BP log sounds like a good idea. Maybe you can connect it to something then.

Any exciting plans for the weekend? We have a play to go to tomorrow, but that's about it.

Have a great day!
