Pentagenarians & Beyond: March 22, 2026

My rotations is moving into body parts, and I'm really not keen on spreading things out that far, today I did STS2 Body Parts Back, but after biceps tomorrow and legs Wednesday, I'm going to figure out how to consolidate some of them into a decent length workout. At least try and keep it to no more than an hour.

This morning I did JA yoga for 18 minutes.

Cathy, great job on IMAX 4 combos with Blizzard Blasts from Low Impact Sweat and Body Parts Back.

Valerie, I’m glad that the rain stopped and you were able to do your park walk.

Hello to Judy and Diane Sue.

Today I did JS Steady, Ready, Go which is an interval walk. That was 31 minutes, 165 calories burned, average heart rate 111, and maximum heart rate 145.

Valerie, nice job with gardening, yard hike, and therapy.

Diane Sue, nice job with Senior Shape Chair Yoga.

Hello to Judy and Valerie.

mountain biked the neighborhood this afternoon along with therapy. tomorrow is DH's other eye surgery. we will be quiet fora few days. or he will.

tried to watch one of the big movies. Sinners. on Prime. there are unavoidable commercials. that is becoming a deal breaker for me. struggled thru about half of it until I called it. Blech. no chance of this being enjoyable. I like several of the people in it too. vampires and blood nothing I will ever EVER sit thru. i have no idea what it was supposed to be about but i am not going to sit thru that to find out. that's my movie review! no stars at all.

Yesterday I rode the Peloton bike for 80 minutes, the first 15 I did a hard climb ride and the rest was easy riding, watching YouTube. Today I did a 30 minute Peloton ride and 20 minutes of upper body work.

Cathy-Great job with STS2 Body Parts Back.

Carolyn-Great job with JA yoga and JS Steady, Ready, Go.

Valerie-Great job with the 30 minute yard hike, therapy work and the bike ride. I hope your husband’s eye surgery goes well. I agree about the unavoidable commercials. I’ve been streaming bike races on Peacock and even with the premium subscription they are still putting commercials in.

Diane Sue-Great job with senior shape Chair Yoga Upper Body.

later today after it warmed up we rode mt bikes around the neighborhood for 45 minutes. its not wilderness but its good exercise.

judy thats what we are finding too. its hard to find things without forced advertising even if you are willing to pay more. if the ads are all at the beginning or end, or even clustered in an intermission mid way for longer movies, i will deal. just popping up and breaking the flow is so annoying!.. there was an extremely funny bit at the Oscars where they ran clips of movies and the way commercials are stuck in anywhere, anytime. it was hilarious! really funny because its so true. they did another one with downsizing screens to fit phone screens too that was funny.

Yesterday I did STS2 Body Parts Biceps, then I had a dentist appointment. He'd blocked out 4 hours, but it only took 3! Two old fillings that had had their day and needed replacing. One got a new filling and the other is getting a crown. Took a break between the two. My mouth was quite sore last night, but is fine this morning! Today I did Live Lift it Hiit is Low Impact, which I really like, and followed it with Restorative Yoga.

I'm not a fan of forced commercials either. I get it if I'm watching a free channel, but when I'm paying for something it's ridiculous. And some of it is weird. A few things I watch later on Youtube TV sometimes the show won't let me skip over commercials and sometimes it will and I have no idea why.

Today I did Stacked Sets Upper Body, 40 miles, 129 calories burned, average heart rate 103, and maximum heart rate 137.

Valerie, great job with mountain biking. I will not watch Sinners under any circumstance! I understand that the music is wonderful according to my daughter.

Judy, great job with the Peloton rides and upper body work.

Cathy, great job with STS 2 Body Parts Biceps, Live Lift it HiiT is Low Impact, and Restorative yoga. I’m glad that your dental appointment didn’t take as long as you thought.

Hello to Diane Sue.

DH's surgery went fine today. even the drive wasnt bad, commute traffic had cleared out . We go back tomorrow for a brief check, then another check in 2 weeks. today I did 2 sets of therapy and then stacked upper body.

I agree cathy, if its free i might let it slide but not on a channel we already pay extra for. we have had Hulu for a few months. i wanted to watch the final season of Handmaids Tale. we watched the next to last season too since its been a long time and we needed reminders. there was a movie I wanted to see supposedly streaming there but it doesnt come up on a search. we will drop Hulu soon if there isnt anything else we want to watch. we have prime with the growing ad problem, and Netflix. we had Apple TV before Hulu but not sure if we still are paying for that. Good deal on the shorter than expected dental visit. my big procedure is this thursday. supposedly it only takes and hour but I think it will be longer than that because this side of my mouth does not get numb easily.

Yesterday I did a band workout with Lauren, 27 minutes, 107 calories, heart rate 101/136. I did not have much time. I was trying to get my husband in for an mri sooner as he is in so much pain. Never got a call back.

Today I did Gloved Up and Sweaty, 40 minutes, 270 calories, heart rate 139/167. and followed with LMR Elevated Premix Anytime Mobility 13 minutes, 79 Calories. Total time 53 minutes, 349 calories. I may try my daughter's elliptical tomorrow or the Max Trainer they have in their gym. They had their pool guy open the pool this week. I really am not a good swimmer.

Today I did STS2 Body Parts Legs. I'm moving these workouts closer together than the rotation calls for as I really don't want to do 2 parts in one day as that makes for a long workout.

Diane Sue, is there an area of the pool shallow enough for you to water walk and do other exercises in the pool. I know our local pool has classes and there may be some YouTube videos to give you ideas.

Valerie I'm glad your DH's surgery went well. I hope your appointment does, too. While I never like any dental procedures, I was so happy both mine were on top this time, because that numbs so well. Never felt a thing.

Hi Diane Sue and Judy.

This morning I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix, workout one, 26 minutes, 176 calories burned, average heart rate 127, and maximum heart rate 161. I went to the newish Sprouts that opened near me last year. I won’t make that mistake again. It’s much smaller than my usual Sprouts and not well stocked. The produce was not up to my expectations. I needed some specific items to make a nutritious broth for my daughter but I didn’t get everything that I needed.

Valerie, I’m glad that your husband’s surgery went well.

Diane Sue, nice job with the band workout with Lauren, Gloved Up and Sweaty, and LMR 2 Anytime Mobility.

Cathy, great job with STS 2 Body Parts Legs.

Hello to Judy.

Diane sure you probably hear this a lot. Swimming is suggested many times. I dislike swimming! my skin is too dry. the chlorinated water makes it worse. i dont float no matter what. even when i was a kid i always was so low in the water I was diagonal. it was a joke. my legs sink. i cant keep my feet near the surface no matter how much i kick. I love to watch people who are good swimmers and i learned all the strokes and passed all swim classes but never liked it. im better on dry land.

DH drove himself today and is amazed at how bright everything is. so glad he finally did this.
dental appt is not early tomorrow so i can eat before.

carolyn that must have been disappointing. we dont have a Sprouts anywhere near here. just standard stores. Regular store produce is generally good though. even Costco does well. quantities are larger but we go thru a lot.

Today I did the Elliptical for 15 minutes, 120 calories, heart rate 142/155. I started it at first with my Garmin set on yoga  I just estimated the outcome with the time I did it in cardio mode. I think the machine does do the calories etc. if you wear a strap that comes with it. I like that it had a place where I could put my tablet. I then did LMR Elevated Lower Body, 59 minutes, 244 calories, heart rate 107/140. Total time 74 minutes, 364 calories. My hip flexors are bothering me and I could really feel it on the Elliptical.

Valerie, I think they use something else in their pool other than chlorine. I remember my daughter mentioning it. I am the same way with swimming. I think I mentioned before that they put me through swimming lessons, and I never really learned well. I can stay up for a few strokes and then sink. I stay near the sides of the pool where I can touch the bottom and hang on. The pool looks pretty with the beautiful woods and hills in the background. Yes I was told swimming or elliptical suggested. I read swimming does not help build bone strength as there is no impact at all.

Carolyn, good job on KCM Quick Fix. I got an order from Whole Foods yesterday and was surprised that they would deliver out here. They left it at the gate. I just follow the tracking on my phone. There is a Sprouts not far from here, but it is a very busy area. Whole Foods usually always has good produce and delivery is more careful. I wanted my favorite blackberries and some other produce. I think delivery from Walmart is a way for them to get rid of things like bent cans and products close to their best by dates. Or maybe it was just the store I was getting it from. I have sent them my thoughts on that.

Cathy, good job on STS 2 Body Parts Legs and Live Lift It Hiit. I might like that one if it is low impact. I could probably walk in the shallow end.

Today I did P 30 Perfect Pump Upper Body and the Extended Stretch. My time was 42 minutes with 139 calories burned, average heart rate 108, and maximum heart rate 131.

Valerie, nice job with 35 minutes of spinning and therapy exercises. I hope that your dental appointment goes well.

Diane Sue, nice work with the elliptical and LMR Elevated Lower Body. It’s been years since I tried the elliptical, but I could only do it for a few minutes.

Hello to Cathy and Judy.

Im back and all went well. I need to take things easy for about a week. will get re evaluated then and see how healing is going. i can walk and ride because i am so used to doing it that I am not pushing anything much. . it was less major than expected because the tooth itself is just fine, they dont know for sure what will be under the gum tissue. I developed a small bone ridge next to the tooth that blocked gum from snugging up to tooth, creating a pocket. whatever!. its fixed. it will heal, there are stitches. need to recover from the scraping and lasering. need to ice it often and be careful about eating so not to get any nuts or seeds caught. I was so worried it was going to be worse. tooth doesn't even have a filling. whew!!
