Pentagenarians & Beyond: June 29, 2025

Today I did Gloved Up and Sweaty and Live Metabolic Conditioning.

Carolyn that's crazy about the meteorite. Meteorite going though roof is certainly not something most people would ever expect!

Valerie we have suburban areas with a lot of deer, too. The one nearest to us is in the township where I shop. They have little to fear from hunters though and it's a big suburban area and there are a number of parks/recreation areas. Marquette has a lot of deer, including a few albino ones, but people up there seem to just enjoy them and not want them gone like in the bigger cities. But then they also get black bear and the occasional moose wandering through the city.

Diane Sue my sister gets those kinds of power outages. On for a bit, off for a bit repeat. We generally don't get more than a 2-3 blips in about a minute and it's gone gone. I told Derek if there ever is a tornado it'll be a plus that his apartment is half under ground.

Hi Judy.

Today I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga. I tried to clean up the deck and outside furniture while it was still cooler this morning. It was starting to look bad after all of the storms and blowing debris.

Cathy, great job with Gloved Up and Sweaty and Live Metabolic Conditioning. The falling meteor was amazing. Many people had video from their doorbell cameras and the meteorologists have been showing it on the radar. Apparently there are people who are really into astronomy and they have been searching for any pieces that they can find.

Waving hello to everyone and wishing you a wonderful day.

a meteorite! that is crazy lucky to see if you are not the unlucky guy whose house has a hole in the roof.
how exciting! the news hasn't covered that here as far as I've seen but i will take a look to see if there's something available.

we rode the trail this morning, 15 miles 80 minutes.

we get a lot of on again/off again power outs. when a tree limb is touching the line and bounces up and down it interrupts power and then when the limb or the tree falls, the power goes out completely. we have a lot of trees here and most lines are on poles and not underground. thats what the average outage here looks like. montana has fewer trees but serious frequent intense wind, but in our area lines are buried and we hardly ever have power outs there.
cathy that would be my cue to leave the area. no, not dealing with tornados, or warnings, or spending hours in a bathtub. I'm GONE.
we are in a semi rural area with a lot of relatively unpopulated areas around us. the deer population really likes it here. and then some people persist in feeding them! i hate to see animals so acclimated to people that they have no fear. there is hunting in some of the surrounding areas but not right in the housing areas. for whatever reason, we see many many times more deer here than we ever did in the mountains. moose, no. bears and cougars yes. weather is milder here and a lot of areas no hunting. traffic takes its toll though.

Friday was a rest day, I did 45 minutes of Yin Yoga. Yesterday I worked 6 hours. Today I did 80 minutes of Peloton rides, 30 minutes of hard intervals and 50 minutes of easy recovery rides.

Cathy-Great job with Live PHA, Gloved Up and Sweaty and Live Metabolic Conditioning. Yes, there has been a lot of flooding in Michigan. It’s crazy how one small area will get so much rain. We have been very lucky so far not to have had any flooding in our neighborhood.

Diane Sue-Great job with CDorner 30-minute Advanced Step, 12 Days of Abs Day 4 Lower abs and LMR bonus yoga. I’m sorry about the power outages.

Carolyn-Great job with Jane Adams Gentle Yoga. That is crazy about the meteorite. I just looked up some of the videos.

Valerie-I’m sorry about the issues with your sister. Great job with your park walk.

Today I did P 30 Low Impact HiiT which was 31 minutes, 169 calories burned, average heart rate 121, and maximum heart rate 141. I also did Step Boss Extended Chair Stretch for 16 minutes.

Valerie, nice job with the trail ride.

Judy, great job with Yin Yoga and the Peloton rides. I imagine the it’s very busy at Home Depot now.

Hello to Cathy and Diane Sue.

Today I did Killer Legs Barre and then some lower back stretching. My watch was very concerned about me this morning because of how little I slept. I actually got about 4 1/2 hours which doesn't get me such an extreme alert, but my watch died so it thinks I only got 2 hours sleep. It also thinks my heart rate was too low. Does it think I had no heart rate. That was strange because during the time I was asleep my heart rate was in its normal range. And oh look, it rained again. Hopefully that's it for the day. Then nothing more in the forecast until Saturday.

Today I did Lift Move Restore Total Body skipping the chest and abs. I used 5,8, & 10# dumbbells and the 10# weight plate. I used dumbbells also when Cathe used the barbell. Total time was 47 minutes, 154 calories. I was looking at the papers for my cardiovascular doctor appointment this month. When I saw it said let them know if you are claustrophobic, I had to go look up exactly what a cardio PET scan is. Not looking forward to that one. I would rather do the regular stress test. I have a new HP computer coming tomorrow. Mine has been messing up and the last few days it has been doing updates or trying to update. Power off and on did not help, and when I could get on I had to sit here forever just to log into something. Both my computer and my husbands are probably 6 years old. I have been using my tablet a lot.

did stacked upper body yesterday along with therapy. Cathy im getting a lot of help from Puss these days. he gets right into the middle of things and likes to park there for extra resistance. we plan to ride today after DH gets back from a brief dental appt. its been hot here which means mid to upper 80's. our garden area gets way warmer than other spots. we have to ride in the morning or its too warm. my metabolism is suited to 45 degrees. not 85.

DH always wrestles with computers when they stop doing upgrades by themselves. I would replace as soon as they need a lot of extra work to keep them operational. my new one is so nice. a wireless keyboard and mouse, not that special now, but it makes it easier to use and clean around without all the cord tangle.

diane sue, my new system is an HP. i love it. i dont do anything fancy and it does not have a camera. we use our laptop for televisits and calls. it has a huge screen and is an all-in-one without the tower. the system I had so much grief with was Dell. i dont recommend Dell. DH is claustrophobic and needs to be medicated for scans where he's "tubed'. you should be able to get medication so its more comfortable.

I didn’t work out this morning. I had a lot of sleep interruptions last night and I felt drained when I woke up. I didn’t even have the energy to do a light workout.

Cathy, great job with Killer Legs Barre and lower back stretching. I’m always impressed when you can work out on a little sleep!

Diane Sue, great job with LMR Total Body.

Valerie, great job with Stacked Sets Upper Body and therapy work.

Hello to Judy.

Yesterday I did a 45-minute Peloton Walk and 30 minutes of Peloton Strength work. This morning I did a short outdoor run, just under 30 minutes, and this afternoon I went to the gym with my husband. We did about 45 minutes of strength circuits. I did mostly upper body work, focusing on things I can’t do at home.

Carolyn-Great job with P 30 Low Impact HiiT and Step Boss Extended Chair Stretch. I’m sorry about your sleep interruptions, I had a couple of nights like that last week and it was very unpleasant. Home Depot has been pretty busy lately.

Cathy-Great job with Killer Legs Barre and the stretching.

Diane Sue-Great job with Lift Move Restore Total Body.

Valerie-Great job with Stacked Sets Upper Body and your therapy work.

I got the new laptop and have been setting up everything today. It is pretty easy. This morning I did CDorner Fast Basic Step & Abs, 62 minutes, 4,692 steps, 319 calories, heart rate 124/155. I accidentally pushed yoga so I just stopped after13 minutes and did the rest with cardio setting and added it together. I was wondering why I was so low at first. I need to check and see if my folder stuff transferred over. I downloaded the free metabolic workout from the new upcoming series on the other laptop this morning.

Yesterday I went and walked at the zoo and then went to visit my parents. My sister and I have concluded that my Mom's medication is helping some. She hasn't been telling repetitive stories the last couple weeks, and they've been getting out and walking more. Today I did Live Metabolic Sweat. I loved this workout. It's very cardio based. First section is floor hiit, and I don't think I had to modify once. Lots of things from P30 Hiit. Next section was floor cardio with 5's and 8's, and the last one was with just the platform. Really got my heart rate up. I think I found the adapter I need to use, so that I can download the bonus workouts and then transfer to a USB so I can use them with the TV.

Carolyn as long as I can get about 4 1/2 hours sleep, I can almost always manage one workout after breakfast, but it usually means I don't wake up early enough to get in multiple workouts.

Diane Sue was it the latest Microsoft updated that was causing issues. Sunday night both my Dad and my sister had to start out on the video call with their phones, because their laptops started doing an update.

Today I did Killer Legs from the 2023 workouts. That was a fun change. I want to try to add more Cathe workouts back into my program. I’ve been doing a lot of Peloton workouts but I miss Cathe’s.

Diane Sue-Great job with CDorner Fast Basic Step & Abs. I’m glad you got your new laptop.

Cathy-Great job with Live Metabolic Sweat. That’s wonderful that your Mom’s medication is helping.

Hi to Carolyn & Valerie

This morning I did JS 30 Minute Fat Blaster, 30 minutes, 191 calories burned, average heart rate 128, and maximum heart rate 164. I did a virtual WW meeting then went to the grocery store. I slept much better last night.

Judy, great job with Peloton walk, Peloton strength, outdoor walk, gym workout with your husband, and Killer Legs.

Diane Sue, I’m glad that you have your new laptop. Great job with CDorner Fast Basic Step and Abs.

Cathy, nice job with walking at the zoo Live Metabolic Sweat. I’m glad that the medication seems to be helping your mom.

Hello to Valerie.

We rode again this morning. 1 hr 17 minutes 15 miles. DH got his surgery scheduled for the 28th of july. so glad its now definitely on. they actually send a therapist to your home after the surgery for 1-2 weeks. i had no idea that happened until a friend recently had a knee replacement and said thats what happened to her. what a deal!.

cathy that's great the meds are helping. changes might be subtle and not noticeable by someone who's with her every day, like your father. .

some local idiot is blowing up m-80's or something. doing it at 3:30 this morning. i dread this time of year more every year. there have been isolated kabooms going off for a while but what kind of jerk goes out at 3 am to wake the neighborhood.

our cat was acting funny this morning, reluctant to leave the deck. he doesnt have a litter box there but pooped anyway. we got down our trail cam footage and there was a bobcat walking back and forth at 2:30 am nearby. scary. several of the neighbor cats were going back and forth out there too and didnt seem concerned. we have gotten to know who the neighborhood wandering kitties are. one lives next door and comes over to roll in my catmint plants. the others are unknowns. we are pretty sure someone came up on our deck. the deck is 25feet up so it had to come up a long flight of stairs.

Today I did a timesaver from Strong and Sweaty Total Body Giant Sets. My time was 28 minutes with 100 calories burned.

Waving hello to everyone. Have a wonderful day.

Before I left to shop today I did Live Core with Yoga Blocks Express. As of a day or two ago when I looked we weren't supposed to have rain until Saturday, but patches of storms have been moving across today. So, far all we got was about 5 minutes of rain. My brother about 15 miles away had over 20 minutes of downpour.

Valerie I'm definitely not a fan of fireworks. I certainly don't get people spending 100's of dollars on them. Michigan still has some rules as to what can be sold, but all you have to do it go over the border into Indiana which is much more lax. Silent fireworks and drone and laser shows are now available, and there are some places doing them.

Since tribal lands are sovereign nations, they can do what they want. they sell everything short of nuclear warheads. fireworks stands all over. in theory fireworks are supposed to be kept to tribal land but... surprise surprise... people take them off tribal land and blow them up everywhere. its way too far out of control for law enforcement to do much. most cities have fireworks bans but out in the county outside city limits, anything goes. some years are worse than others. we seal up the house, run the AC, and go to bed early to get to sleep before the noise gets really going. its awful. i have no interest in seeing any of it. people spend many thousands of $$ on this crap! as usual, things are dry and there will be fires, just a question of how many and how big. we like to be here in case anything starts burning we have a chance of slowing it by wetting things down.

cathy, you are getting a lot of rain. is this unusual?

had medical appt early, then a costco run. going to do stacked upper body and therapy.

Happy July 4th!

Today I did a short warm up from JS One Mile of Motivation, then I did STS 2.0 Mobility 1.

Cathy, nice job with Live Core with Yoga Blocks Express before shopping.

I heard a few fireworks in the distance last night, but I know we will have a lot tonight. A couple of venues will have professional displays which I don’t mind. It’s the people at home trying to shoot off fireworks that scare me. Hopefully we won’t have any of that.

Hello to Valerie, Judy, for Diane Sue.

Have a wonderful day everyone.
