Pentagenarians & Beyond: February 15, 2026

This morning I did LMR2 Kickbox Fusion and Live Core w/Yoga Blocks Express. Getting ready to head to my parents. Another beautiful sunny and heading for 50! Another few days and the snow should be gone.

Carolyn I've been thinking of you. Glad to hear you are doing okay.

Friday was a rest day. Yesterday I did LMR2 Elevated Mobility Anytime Wake Up Mobility premix and the All Dumbbells premix of LMR2 Barre Bootcamp. I really liked the Barre premix and the Mobility warm up was good too. Total time was about 37 minutes. Then I did a 60 minute Restorative Yoga class. Today I did a 60 minute walk on the treadmill.

Diane Sue-Great job with the LMR2 workouts. I am very happy with this series so far. That’s really good that your house is selling so quickly.

Cathy- Great job with LMR2 Kickbox Fusion and Live Core w/Yoga Blocks Express. It’s so nice to have warmer temps and some sun.

Caroline-I’m glad that you are doing ok and that things are settling down.

Valerie-I hope you have a good trip to Montana.

Today I did My Finished Step Combos and LMR2 Elevated Lower Body. Was going to go to the zoo in Lansing today, but I want to watch the pairs skating, so I'll do that tomorrow. It's the same distance as the zoo I regularly go to, and every time I go shopping I go past the exit, but it's not one of my favorite zoos and I haven't been there since I went with Derek in '24. It's small and nice enough now, but I still have visuals from when I was a kid, and it was lots of small cement non animal friendly exhibits. Cheap place to walk though cause if I can do reciprocal and 50% off is $3.

Today I did LiTE Cardio Party, 39 minutes, 243 calories, average heart rate 119, and maximum heart rate 152. I have the new workouts but I haven’t taken them out of the package yet.

Waving hello to everyone.

We did the drive sunday in normal time. no weather or traffic issues. all is workig fine here. neither of us felt like getting up and going monday so we did a leisurely drive around the lake nearby and contacted our neighbors and had them drop by for dinner. lots of things changed a previous neighbor sold his house and moved. hes not thinking too clearly and managed to convince many of us to store some of his things "temporarily". it looks like stuff we will need to haul to the dump eventually so were not thrilled.

i felt pretty wiped out yesterday but did get in 2 therapy sessions and half run of stacked upper body. today DH is not feeling too great so might not do much.

Yesterday I did LMR2 PHA Cardio Fusion and a 10-minute Peloton core workout. I had a chiropractic appointment this morning and we have some things we need to do this afternoon so I’m not sure what if any workout I will get in. I might do something this evening or just call it a rest day and do a longer workout tomorrow. I placed an order for some of Cathe’s fitness gear yesterday, extra bands, tubing, a yoga mat, lifting gloves, boxing gloves and a water bottle. I already have all of the DVDs. She has some great deals now that she is selling out her inventory. I wasn’t surprised that she is getting out of the DVD business, I’m surprised she kept making them as long as she did.

Cathy-Great job with your Finished Step Combos and LMR2 Elevated Lower Body.

Carolyn-Great job with LiTE Cardio Party.

Valerie-Great job with the therapy sessions and stacked upper body.

Hi to Diane Sue

Yesterday I did LMR2 Elevated Upper Body, and then I went to the zoo in the afternoon. Pulled a Derek on the last round to try and see if something else would be active I got to see Okapi zoomies. Fourth time I went over there, he finally went outside and raced around, with sudden stops and some stomps. It was so cool. I've never seen them doing more than just standing and eating. Derek was green! LOL Today I did Live Boxing Hiit 2 and STS2 Mobility 1.

Valerie that's really lousy that your neighbor left you with stuff they aren't going to want.

Judy that's great that you ordered a bunch of stuff. Anything I bought would duplicate something I have now and I'm stashing money for trips so I ended up passing. It'll be cool if they do more workouts and I don't do downloads, and will just use them OnDemand. And if my internet is ever an issue, I have plenty of workouts to choose from since I'm only missing a couple DVD's.

Carolyn,I hope you find some things you enjoy in the new workouts.

Hi Diane Sue.

well it finally snowed but now our concern is getting out of our driveway. i don't think its enough to be an issue but we will see in the morning. we parked our car on the road so its a hike to get to it.
Cathy we knew this neighbor and he that lost his wife not long ago. we knew her too and she was the well balanced one. that really sent him over the edge. we think he has every intention of picking up this junk but we also think it's not likely to happen. its sad, he is not demented but sometimes doesn't use good judgement and has some medical issues of his own. . we aren't the only neighbors to inherit junk , but at least we didn't get to keep an extra old truck for him. he was a builder in his day but we didn't use him. honestly i saw the interior of his house long ago and said "no way!!" not my taste and IMO badly planned.

Okapis are so beautiful what a treat!

DVDs being phased out sure makes me feel old. i prefer them... does that make me a dinosaur?
I didnt do a lot of activity here. ive done stacked upper body twice and 15 min on the elliptical. therapy every day.

for the first time ever there are no elk here. the lack of snow let them stay up much higher all winter. our trail cam for 4 months didn't show a single one and now that were here we haven't seen any. saw a few dozen mule deer so far.

Yesterday I did 40 minutes of easy Peloton Rides and 40 minutes of Peloton Upper Body, Core and stretching. Today I did a 50-minute walk on the treadmill and 30 minutes of Restorative Yoga.

Carolyn-Great job with KCM’s Power Splits Upper Body, and the timesaver from LMR Functional Lower Body.

Cathy- Great job with LMR2 Elevated Upper Body and Live Boxing Hiit 2 and STS2 Mobility 1.

Valerie-Great job with stacked upper body, the elliptical and therapy work. I’ve been using the downloads more and more and have gradually gotten away from using DVDs. I did still order them for every series so I could have the premixes.

Hi to Diane Sue

Yesterday I did Elevate Barre Bootcamp, 48 minutes, 168 calories, heart rate 96/126. I had to be careful with those cross-back lunges because my knee does not like it. I finished with Elevate Mobility Timesaver #2, 31 minutes, 122 calories. I do not like all of the twisting and down dog stuff. I am okay with the short anytime mix, but had a hard time modifying with the flow of moves put together. I tried to avoid getting into the down dog and the twisting and it just did not work. It was disappointing. My wrist hurts a lot after yesterday. I do not know if it was from some of the moves on my hands or mixture of that and hauling heavy containers out to the garage. It was swollen and warm this morning. The LMR 2 core workout looks a bit worrisome. I need to preview it if I find the time. My granddaughter came one day for lunch and packed up some things.
Today was an inspection so no workout this morning. Hopefully a workout tomorrow. My husband has been home sick the last two days. It takes up a lot of time keeping things looking perfect for people coming in and getting to packing up things done. Also deciding what goes with us temporarily and what goes in storage.
I just went and ordered Cycle Power on dvd. I always wanted to get it, but I didn't want to pay shipping.

No workout yesterday as I shopped and stopped to visit with my brother for about an hour. Had a very crazy night. After 3 days of interrupted sleep, I decided to take some of the cold/flu stuff that puts me to sleep. But, yesterday afternoon my watch alarm went nuts and would not shut off, so in my attempts to figure out how to shut it up, I deleted all the alarms. But, when I reset them, I put an afternoon one to AM! So, it went off at 2:45 AM. Then I accidentally hit the snooze. After that, I decided I'd switch my 5:30 to 6:30, but apparently didn't actually turn on 6:30. Woke up just before 7:30, having gotten almost 9 hours sleep! I honestly don't think I've slept that long since before kids if then. The gist is that I am very awake and refreshed, but also was behind in doing things and worried about whether I'll sleep tonight. Thankfully I had set up all the equipment to do STS2 Giant Sets so after I finished breakfast I made myself start it with I'll do two rounds and see how it goes, and ended up doing the whole thing! Last time I did that workout was almost exactly a year ago, and I haven't been doing heavy weights, so I did have to back off on some, though not everything.

Valerie too bad that you aren't seeing more animals. Elk and mule deer are two of the animals that Derek takes care of. Valentines Day they did a little video and he did it with a mule deer who kept trying to give him kisses. LOL This was far better in my view than his snapchat of him kissing the male camel on the end of the nose and pulling back when it immediately drooled. So, gross in my view. But for whatever reason the male camel has always had a thing for him. We're just getting spring birds here, grackles, red-wings and cranes, and with the warmer weather the raccoons, and opossums are out and about again. Of course, now we are getting some snow in the next 24 hours.

Diane Sue sorry that your wrists are hurting. Packing and moving things around can certainly be rough on the body.

Judy I hope you aren't too impacted by the coming snow. Up north in certainly a mess. Both northern lower and UP. Lots of don't travel warnings lately.

Hi Carolyn.

we drove back yesterday. DH got sick monday night after we had neighbors for dinner. I hope he didnt give it to them but maybe he's not that contagious. its saturday and I am still ok and have spent many many hours with him in the car.
thursday we went into the park and ended up xc skiing for 2 hours. it was lovely snow and just enough to get by without scraping gravel . we were early, it was 7 degrees and not too hard a ski. we didnt get as much snow at home so we got up and down the driveway ok. the trouble is when the wind comes up and packs not a whole lot of snow into concrete-like drifts. we have a couple spots that can get impossible, impenetrable, no shovel can deal with it.
DH was sick but wanted to do the ski so we did. it was beautiful out and we did see some bison mule deer some elk and even a moose! almost 12 hours in the car with him yesterday coughing hacking, sneezing and throat clearing for the whole time. if I dont get this virus I will be declared super human!

even with the new snow we never saw the elk herd that usually winters near our house. saw plenty of mule deer. there are a lot more rabbits in the world than I think there are.
how funny to hear about your adventures with alarms cathy! i always set two different systems if its important to be up. a plug in alarm clock is reliable and unfancy. i use the phone but i don't always trust it to get set properly, the electric clock is a no brainer and i like the reliability of the snooze.

diane sue arthritis is like that. joints can get unhappy for many reasons. during skiing my rt ankle bothered me for the first time. geez, its hard to deal with failing body parts when you dont expect it. we probably wont get any more ski chances this year so I wont know if its a real problem until next year.

Today was a rest day for me. Yesterday I did JS 15 Minute Calorie Burst and Step Boss Chair Stretch.

Judy, great job with Peloton rides, Upper Body Strength and Core, walking on the treadmill, and restorative yoga.

Diane Sue, nice job with Elevated Barre Bootcamp and Elevated Mobility Timesaver.

Cathy, great job with LMR 2 Low Impact Cardio Fusion, Live Sore to the Core, and Restorative yoga. I’m glad that you were able to sleep for 9 hours after the adventures with your alarm.

Valerie, I’m sorry that your husband is sick. It’s good that you were able to do some skiing.
