Today is my rest day. I will be trying to get some tasks accomplished that keep getting put aside since we are still working on the kitchen. I am feeling yesterday's barbell and bands a bit this morning. In a good way though :)

Hi everyone--

This morning I did Live Drill Max (63 min.). Great thorough workout. My shoulders were burning on some of these sets, especially when you pause in the middle and hold at halfway.

Watched The Confirmation last night on HBO about the Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill Senate hearings. Really reminded me of how stupid these senators can be and look what we got for a Supreme Court Justice. Must say, though, Greg Kennear nailed Joe Biden--sounded identical to him.

Yesterday was Housemax and gardening cleanup. Absolutely gorgeous weather and today even more warm and sunny. At last!

Diane Sue, thanks for starting the thread! And for your description of those workouts. Too long on the weight one and too much impact on the circuit one. Good to know.

Going out to dinner tonight at Mezze's. As usual. I made a pasta carbonara yesterday with Kim's bacon and eggs from free range chickens from The Essentials of Italian Cooking and it was soooo good! Usually I use Lidia, but this is by another woman--Hazan.

Valerie, I agree with you on Happy Valley--I started the second season and it's very good again. I thought Tommy Lee Royce would at least be crippled, but he looks in very good shape and just as creepy.

Good afternoon ladies!

Had a really nice visit with my brother. The weather was beautiful yesterday, perfect for the winery tour. They just left a few minutes ago so picking up and Bob and I plan to do something outside to enjoy this beautiful day. I may or may not workout today. Yesterday morning I was able to fit in Cathe live low impact sweat along with 2 of SB's targets. The first was bis & tris and the second was a bridge target. Both were great and at the end I felt it was a good workout day!

Diane Sue...thanks for starting the thread! Hilarious about your pocket door. I can easily see that happening. Been a while since I did a RWH. I like the of the upper that has the abs throughout. Or maybe it's one of the lower workouts. Been a while!

Jose...glad your back is ok. Those were a couple of good rides.

Lynda...I do agree with you about needing some more lower impact Cathe Live. I love my Hiit workouts and impact but at times do prefer a intense low impact. I would enjoy some more similar to the live low impact sweat. Bob will go back to work. As much as he is enjoying this time (and so am I), I do not see him not working. He is enjoying it but he is starting to get antsy. I would love for him to never go back or just get something part time.

Valerie...that is awful about your hike! Smart to not try to cross something like that. So are the rains that heavy out there that this is comon for roads to be washed out? Glad your husband is enjoying his retirement. I think Bob is just not there yet.

Deb....beautiful weekend for NYC. Can't wait to here about your trip!

Have a great day all!!!!

Lynda, the circuit workout had loads of jacks, plyos, jump on off the step. On some of it they use the step and then are off the step till weights start and I think I could use the rebounder. The jumping on and off the step can really make my knees hurt if there is too much of it. It can be done with jump on step off though. I hate having to substitute but I don't like knee pain either.

Lori, I think that there are two different workouts, one upper and one lower, that there are premixes for using the abs between weights. I think the upper has one where you skip the finishers and do the abs. Our weather here is rainy. It is supposed to rain quite a lot the next couple of days and then more rain. I need to go out and get some plants and get some stuff done when it clears up.

Have any of you tried Nexgard for fleas and ticks on your dogs? My vet had me switch from frontline saying Nexgard works better. 10 days ago I gave it to Gertie. She got so lethargic, staying in her crate and needing coaxed out, then loose stools on the carpet at night when she couldn't get out, and we have had to coax her to eat. I checked side effects and every one of these can be side effects. Then I researched the medicine and it worries me putting a poison in the dogs blood? They claim it doesn't get into the organs. But then they do not seem to have enough research and answers to questions. I read it takes pretty much the full month to get it out of the system and also that some people have used milk thistle to help the liver with the toxicity. I am calling my vet this next week and see if I can change the new box for Frontline or something. Also, somewhere I saw a link to report this to FDA or something. I guess this helps with stats. The website for the medicine said only 1% have any side effects but from what I read there has to be more than that.

Hi Everyone,

The weather has been perfect this weekend! Chris and I went for a bike ride around the neighborhood yesterday. This afternoon we are going to grill outside and spend some time enjoying the sunshine.

Deb-hope you are having a great trip!

Josie-Great rides! I'm glad your back recovered so quickly.

Lori-I'm glad you had a good visit with your brother. It sounds like you are having the same weather we are this weekend. It's so nice to have it feel like spring!

Lynda-I remember those hearings so well. I listened to them on NPR. Hard to believe it's been 25 years.

Hi to Diane Sue & Valerie!

Judy

Just back from a mt bike at the tree farm, 2.5 hours. Again, we are impressed with ourselves and how much we've improved by riding the hills regularly. it was so nice out this morning but quiet there. there is a lot of forested land and not that many people using it. saw some horses today. we watched ducks on the lake for a while. ended up doing about 8 miles.

Our Aunt in the adult group home passed away late yesterday. She hasn't had any fun for a long time so it's good she finally went. she couldn't do anything for herself for a long time and was blind and deaf. had to be hand fed. It's too bad it took as long as it did. She was the last of that generation on husbands side.

Lori we get heavier rain in the mountains than in the lowlands, but it is wet here especially fall and winter. long periods of steady rain, not usually downpours, but the ground gets saturated and slides downhill. a big issue is roads have to cross streams. every year there's some damage. small sections wash out. the FS used to have a better budget to fix them than they do these days. It's so aggravating because it's usually just a little section that goes out, but in this case, there was no good way to get across. the trailhead... where you would like to start hiking from is another 4 miles. so that's 8 miles RT before you even walk 1 step on the trail itself. we thought if the road was intact the rest of the way, we'd be able to mt bike to the trailhead. no way could we get across this washout. too steep, wet, and unstable.

I remember watching the hearings with Anita Hill and being so disappointed in how it turned out. I will put it on my Netflix queue to remind me to look for it. It looks like the supremes will continue to be an issue as it doesn't look like much movement toward a replacement for Scalia.
I'd watch Happy Valley again in a heartbeat. the writer ( can't think of her name right now) does such great realistic dialogue!

Good afternoon..

We are back, NYC was great. The weather was good, not too hot, I still had to wear a jacket when walking around. The show was as good as I expected it to be. Jesse Tyler Ferguson was amazing.
We stayed right in the heart of things, a half block from 6th avenue, at Herald Square. We went to the Museum of Natural History, and then walked around Central Park. That was a taxi ride from the hotel. We did walk to Times Square....and back to the hotel from the theater after dinner. It wasn't too far, about 11 blocks...NYC blocks are pretty short. We saw some strange people on Saturday in Times Square, one was a woman with nothing on but hot pink fishnet stockings, and high heels.. Remember those old fishnet stockings? Not a pretty sight.

I will catch up on the posts..hope everyone had a nice weekend.

Judy, it is so nice to be able to enjoy the nice weather. Ours is a much needed wet :) I love grilling. It sounds like the perfect day :)

Valerie, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your aunt. I know sometimes it seems things drag out too long. I am sure there is a reason for it that we cannot comprehend. I lost one of mine recently to Alzheimer. We used to be able to talk for hours. I loved her so much.

Deb, it sounds like you had a nice trip. I would like to visit those places in NYC that I see on television and read about. The woman in pink fishnet stockings only would not be a plus. It makes me glad that I live where I do :)

well, yes, her life dragged out too long. her sons are just relieved she finally passed. It's been 10 years of deterioration. I would not wish it on anyone. I did a lot with her and helped her out many times especially for medical issues. she needed a lot of colonoscopies, eye procedures and hearing aid appts that I took her to them for many years while her sons were still working. she died suddenly after a fairly good day where she got to eat ice cream, so that 's the best we could have hoped for. Nobody of her generation is left so it will be a pretty small funeral in a couple weeks.

visions of fishnet stockings are dancing in my head... couldn't it be sugarplums instead???

Good morning,

It was in the 70's here yesterday, so nice. I hope it stays, but I think it's supposed to rain this week. We could probably use it.

We did all the things we wanted to in NYC, bagels from a street vendor for breakfasts, and once we had wraps for lunch, we were going to do NYC style pizza from one of the shops but don't really like that style so did a broccoli chicken thick one that was delicious. We had dinner at an Italian restaurant next door to the theater, that was really good. We did not use the subway at all, probably should have.

Diane Sue, thanks for starting the thread. I have never tried that flea stuff but it sounds like Gertie had a reaction from it. I used to use Frontline or one of the other topicals but started not liking what was in it and what it might to do to the dogs. I started using one with natural oils. I will post a link is a bit, their site is down for maintenance right now. As for liver function, I give Keegan a milk thistle capsule every other day, he had problems with the numbers for his liver, and this brought them back up to normal. Good idea to report the one that you used and the side effects that Gertie has.

Valerie, sorry about your aunt, I agree, it is probably for the best, her quality of life was gone a while ago. You are doing great with the rides! Sorry about those visions in your head....I can't stop seeing her either...and no one was even looking at her. I wanted to take a picture with my phone but was in shock and felt dumb about thinking about doing it after she walked away...

Judy, so nice that you and Chris were able to get out for a bike ride. My cousin moved very close to a 5 mile bike trail, I just need to be able to put my bike in the back of my car and get to her house to ride with her.

Josie, glad your back is better.

Lynda, that pasta sounds delicious. I really want to hunt down that Happy Valley series that you and Valerie liked so much.

Lori, what did you do outside to take advantage of the great day? What type of work is Bob looking at? I would think he would want something out of the field he was in, or at least something in that field that did not have all that stress. Part time would be nice. I agree, the Live workouts are great, but need more low impact cardio. I love all the weight workout choices. :). I like the glass siding barn door, I never saw those before.

A workout and maybe something outside in the yard, weeding etc if it doesn't rain,

Take care,

I don't know anything about that particular anti -flea product. I know that like most things.... bedbugs and the like, fleas are developing resistance to some products and they are losing effectiveness. also different products potentially control different things, and it's best to use whatever is necessary in your part of the country. example, we don't have heartworm in dogs out here ( last I checked) so not necessary to control for it. I'd try to return unused product to the vet where you bought it and maybe they can exchange for something else.
we're off for a road tide this morning, going to be 80 degrees today. and tomorrow. then back to cooler temps.

ETA back from our ride, 2 hrs 15 minutes. 26 miles. It was actually HOT. first time I rode in shorts this year. Been wearing capris for all other riding.

I should say I'm posting this out of order, commenting on Lynda's post that follows..

We streamed Happy Valley from Netflix. we finally signed up for amazon prime but we don't expect streaming will work as it does not work with apple TV. DH finally decided it was too hard to order things and have delivery predictable if we didn't pay for prime. they raised the $ minimum for free shipping.
I am loving my iphone but there have been some strange issues with Outlook, our email provider. when I was transferring and editing things the other day I kept thinking that things re-appeared on the phone and Outlook, things I was SURE I'd edited or deleted but they came back. the phone "overruled" our desktops and put phone entries in the contact list. no wonder I had all kinds of duplicates, especially when I started listing under last names on the phone, first names on the desktops. I thought the systems would be separate. I had to edit some things
again this morning and put several people back to first name only listings.

Lynda the sons made their peace with this long ago. both cared for her over the last 10 years and they'd had enough. costing close to $8000 a month where she ended up finally. luckily she had enough money to pay but it was dwindling fast. they restricted anything but palliative care. She's been so bad for so long that I think the main feeling was relief it's over.

I think you're right about SCOTUS. I thought the R's might move forward when presented with a moderate candidate but it's not looking like anyone is budging. this kind of obstructionism is scary.

Hi everyone--

This morning I did Cardio Boxing with Stability Ball Abs Live (48 min.). Had to modify some of the impact.

Deb, it sounds like you had a great and interesting! time in NYC. I have heard that Times Square is filled with people in costumes (Disney, Superman, etc.) who then ask to be paid if you take a picture with them. Children are the primary suckers for this if they see a character they love. But that this has also created some issues like the one you described--nudity, obscenity, potential porn. It's really a shame because they cleaned up Times Square back in the 90s and now it sounds as if it is returning to its disreputable ways. I love Central Park and I bet it was beautiful with this great weather. Happy Valley is a BBC series, so maybe it will be on dvd. I finished season 2. It's really good.

Diane Sue, I forgot to look up what Max gets. I think it's something you rub on his coat around his neck. That circuit workout is definitely not for me. I do notice, though, that some of Cathe's exercisers modify either doing down, down, up, up for the jumps or using lighter weights.

Valerie, I remember you mentioning your aunt in the past and how limited her life had become. It must have been hard for her sons to watch the deterioration over the years. One always feels so helpless in situations like this. You have been having some great rides with those mountain bikes. No, nothing will happen on the Supreme Court vacancy until after the election, and maybe not then if the Republicans continue to obstruct.

Judy, have you seen that youtube video of Rory the dashboard cat? Hilarious!

Lori, when you did the winery tour, was there any tasting? Isn't this weather great?

Hi to Josie!

Today I did live Circuit S-w-e-a-t doing some modifications, 48 minutes, 288 calories. HR avg114/max 146. I thought I wanted more weight work and did Ice Total Body Compound 43 minutes, 244 calories. At the end I did a Fitness Blender yoga infused stretch for 13 minutes. I think that I am going to do something low impact tomorrow and one day this week a lower body and later in the week maybe the stability ball upper live workout. I am working my way through these but there are some I think that I will pass on. I hit 50 of them that I have done in 7 weeks. Total time for the live workouts was 92 minutes and calories burned 532.
Circuit S-w-e-a-t breakdown Cathe uses two risers with the step but suggests you can use a height that you are comfortable with. I did notice several had theirs at 1 riser on each end which is where I went. weights are generally 10, 12,15 and she does pick up 8 and 5 # once in awhile and on one move she said maybe even 3#
Start with w/up and move into first cardio which is jacks and turns then back and forth across the step, (I did the jacks on the rebounder and managed to maneuver across the step) then there is plyo jacks and power 3's which I used the rebounder for
first rnd @ 7 minutes reverse lunges using the step 10's (I used 15"S) biceps curls 15's, side bend obliques with 15#
Cardio 2 power turn squats rock back, repeater knee, power 3 then repeat: jacks, plyo jacks, repeat(I used the rebounder for the jacks)
rnd 2 on bench cross back lunge 1 15# dumbbell alternating sides
@ 16:04 minutes curl press 12's#: mat swim planks on forarms, march feet in repeat; down up down on forearms to hands
cardio 3- jacks over the step (this was not as long as the other segments)
rnd 3 uneven squats off step 15# dumbbell 15 reps each side: overhead triceps extension 12# pair dumbbell; 10# dumbbell side to side wood chop
cardio 4 ( I did this on the rebounder and did a jump up step down) jump up jump down, power 7 knee up jack intermission then repeat on the other side
Rnd 4 weights marching sumo with 15# dumbbell turning while marchingthen move back the other direction; mat pushups 4 sets of 8 reps; leg thrusters sitting on step
Cardio 5 squats in a box (another shorter cardio segment)
step ups 12's# 12 reps each side; reverse flies 10's #10 reps, rest, 10 reps rest, 10 slow reps; mat for side plank raises, other side then repeat
Cardio 6 straddle jumps 2 reps then a burpee repeat 6 sets
rnd 5 1 foot on step split squat 10;s #; pullovers 15's#; butterfly sit ups
Stretch
Ice Total Body Compound
w/up
5's squat with punch out
5# side circle lunge
8's squat knee twist
8's forward leaning lunge triple fly
10's reverse lunge curl press
10's (I used 8's ) plie squat upright row/ overhead press
5's dynamic lateral raise with knee up
sumo curls 12's(Cathe starts with 10's and stops to switch to 12's)
15's squats into deadlifts
5's (I used 3's) knee up with arms circle under and up other knee up repeat
12's Bicep curls into diagonal lunge independent of each other
12# deep squat into front swing
10's cross back lunge to overhead press alternating
10's lunge, curl, squat, press; overhead triceps extensions then add in leg balance
10's single leg deadlift to front raise; kickbacks
static lunge triceps extensions 5's ( I think they used 8's)
mat for core upper moves
10# pull over knee in
10# chest fly alt leg in out then both legs in and out
push ups elbow to knee ( I pretty much lost it here and quit doing the push ups)
Stretch

Deb, I was using frontline for years. The only reason I let the vet talk me into switching is because he said there was a lot of people that had the Frontline not be effective and I lost my dog Mudd to tick born illness using it. I would not have thought it possible since we have mostly concrete and I spray the small yard regularly. Also the dogs never spent large amounts of time outdoors. I usually buy the flea tick medication from the vet. So, the more natural stuff seems to work? I get natural repellant from Melaleuca that I use when I am outside and spray on the dogs. It has roasemary and tea tree oil in it. I am not sure what the other ingredients are. They claim it works in deep woods etc..
Your trip sounds really fun except for the fishnets :) I think my granddaughter and her cheer group will be in the Macy's parade again this year. Her dad will go this time as chaperone. My daughter says seeing NY once was enough. They did have lots of sightseeing excursions between practices last time.

Valerie, it is nice that you were able to be there to help your aunt. It is hard to watch someone go through so much suffering. I was glad when the Lord let my Dad finally go. He was in the hospital for so long and then they moved him to a VA hospital and he was in a coma for 3 months. It was hard to deal with. Sorry we all agreed to the surgery but you know we can't see the outcome and he never filled out papers like my mother did with als. I know he would have said no. He always said he was ready to go. He lost my mom and his second wife of 20 years. He was done.
We do heartworm medication here. I spent 200 dollars for a years worth of heartworm medication and 6 months of the Nexgard. 100 dollars each. They gave me one free Nexgard so I have not opened the box yet so I would think that they can exchange it.

I would think that Central Park would be a beautiful park to see. I remember Hyde Park in England when I was 10 being beautiful. England has some beautiful gardens. I would love to visit the places I have memories of but, I wonder if Americans are still not cared for too much? I remember picketers in Downtown London kind of giving me some anxiety when I was a child.

Lynda, I did notice some of Cathe's exercisers modifying. I have been modifying on a lot of the lateral raises with bent arms. I noticed one woman in a spin workout just pedaling away doing her own thing and had to smile a bit. I am curious what Max is taking. I think there is Advantix or something like that at the vets office. My daughter's dog had a once a year shot. Which is hard to imagine what it would do.

Good evening ladies....

Yesterday, I did SB Total Body Fusion then Bob and I took Chester for a nice walk. We walked to the swim area that is down our street a bit (we live near a very large pond). We sat and enjoye the sun while Chester did some swimming. I would imagine the water was cold, but he did not seem to mind! Today was SB, Lower Body Mixed Cardio. I really liked this one...cardio alternated with Barre. It was only 20 minutes so I followed it up with a pretzel target and Icy Core 1. Tonight we took Chester for a walk again. I think he is really confused with both of us walking with him. :)

Valerie...I am so sorry to hear about your aunt. Sounds like it was a blessing though. Still very sad. Anita Hill...wow that seems like ages ago. My husband and I have been watching the OJ Simpson Crime Story. We are on episode 5. I remember this trial like it was yesterday.

Deb...sounds like a nice weekend even with the wonderful display of fishnets and boobs! I believe in NY it is not illegal for women to be topless. Some law from many years ago that still exist on the books. Something I would never want to see! Bob would like to get into wine and beer sales. Being a general manager for over 25 years this would be right up his alley.

Lynda...I could be wrong but I think that is the boxing workout I prefer not to use a heavy bag and just use hand weights. I love that the some of Live ladies need to modify. Makes me feel great that I am not the only one. I'll have to say I have really noticed in Cathe's most recent workout Ann's strength changes from the early workouts. Amazing the strength she now has. She is usually to our right...next to cathe and usually has a head band.

Diane Sue...funny you sould mention modifing the lateral moves. It there is one I must modify is that one. Pretty much always need to bend my arms. I liked the Circut Sweat just not all the jumping jacks. I do not mind high impact but just never cared for jumping jacks and mountan climbers. That must have been scary for a 10 year old experiencing picketers.

Hi to Judy and Josie!!!

Hi Everyone,

Last night I did 2 segments of Core Max. This morning I did a 1 hour Spinerval. My heart rate average was 130 and max was 169. This afternoon I walked for 20 minutes. I'm going to start walk/running this week and hopefully can get back to running at least a few miles. It would be nice to do a 5k this summer.

Deb-when I lived in Iowa I was very close to a bike path and it was wonderful. That's great that your cousin lives close to one. I'm glad you had fun in NYC.

Valerie-great job on your long ride! You and Josie are really getting the miles in!

Lynda- I just looked up Rory. That is so cute!

Diane Sue-Nice workouts! That was a marathon session that you did today! I use Advantage Multi on our cats. It's a monthly topical for heartworm, fleas, ticks, & worms. I think we pay about $270 a year for both cats. We tried the heartguard chewables but neither cat would touch it.

Lori-Great workouts! Now you are making me miss SB! I might have to do her streaming again. I remember the OJ Simpson trial like it was yesterday too. It was the first summer that I had started running and it was the main topic of conversation in my running group. My mom followed it closely too and we talked about it a lot.

Hi to Josie!

Judy

Good morning,

Today is primary day for New York....this should be interesting. A beautiful day yesterday, it was in the 60's, and sunny. I think spring has finally arrived.

It looks like that "Greg" person that works with Cathe on her DVD's let the cat out of the bag about some new DVD's he did for her this past week....there is a thread on it. Apparently he mentioned it on his Facebook page.

Valerie, funny you mentioned bedbugs....NYC is supposed to have them in hotels etc. We checked the room/bed a lot....LOL...:). I am paranoid about stuff like that. Great that you got to ride in shorts. You should be able to easily stream Prime on a laptop or iPad. Maybe Lori, Lynda or Judy can assist with Apple TV, or you maybe you should just get the cable hook up for the iPad and use that for streaming. I have Outlook too on my desktop, and the set up for email on the iPad was difficult. I had to have Time Warner help me over the phone. I have is set so that the iPad is not the main device, my desktop is. Even if I delete emails on the iPad, they stay on the desktop, which is what I want. Also, when I send something from the Ipad, I get a cc copy back on it, because they were not showing up on the desktop...very difficult apparently to have Outlook work with both an Apple product and a PC.

Lynda, yes, we did see those people in costumes asking to take pictures with kids....I didn't realize they were doing it for money....I thought they were part of some show/advertisement etc. I can get the Happy Valley DVD's on Ebay, but since it's only 6 episodes, I will maybe wait a bit until I can get it from the library or it comes on Prime. It's actually cheaper to buy it HD download from Prime than the DVD's. It was probably on Acorn. :(.

Diane Sue, this is what I use for flea/tick for the dogs: http://shop.mercola.com/catalog/flea-tick,548,0,0.htm I think it works pretty well. We used to use Advantix....it worked well with no side effects, but I wanted something natural. You have done 50 Live workouts in 7 weeks? That's amazing...that's over 7 a week. Yes, we were right at Macy's in NYC...I am now regretting not going in to see it. I think next time we will take one of those bus tours. We didn't get to see other areas like Chinatown and Little Italy. You are correct, Americans are not really cared for in London...when my niece and nephew lived there on assignment for years, and my brother and SiL visited, he told them to pretend they were Canadian.

Judy, a 5k goal for the summer is great! I didn't realize that they had heartworm meds for cats as well. I remember the OJ chase etc. We were at a pistol match in Geneva NY, in a hotel room, all glued to the TV while he was being chased on the freeway in LA.

Lori, how nice for Chester, 2 walks in a day with his favorite people! He seems to be doing better? No limping etc? I hope Bob finds something that he enjoys, he deserves it. Funny how we all watch the ladies in the Live workouts....I look to see if anyone else is modifying like me!

Hi Josie!

A vet appointment this morning, then I am taking Kylee to the university for a "stress relief" program for the students. This is part of the SPCA thing I belong to.

Take care,

Hi everyone--

This morning I did Live Low Impact Hiit Circuit (53 min.). For me this is a perfect workout. Gets everything done--resistance training, cardio, a nice stretch at the end.

Lori, I know who Ann is and Debbie, Rose, and a few others that are regulars. Every now and then I admit to being somewhat dismayed because I find myself being critical that Ann and Debbie look like they are overweight and they are remaining so. I don't expect to see everyone in great shape, but there are quite a few regulars in that gym who don't seem to have improved in size over the years they have been doing the Live workouts. It's great that they continue to work out, but--never mind, I am being unnecessarily negative. The boxing and stability ball abs has Amanda in it. Chester is one lucky fella--swimming and walks with both his master and mistress.

Deb, I started streaming Last Tango in Halifax too--the other one Valerie liked. It's another winner. I was attracted to it because I could see the same actress from Happy Valley in this one too. If I am remembering Greg correctly, I thought his form was pretty bad on some workouts.

Valerie, you can put Amazon video on your iPad or iPhone and then stream/airplay it on your Apple TV. I like Last Tango in Halifax. Three seasons to look forward to. Derek Jacobi is a wonderful Shakespearean actor but he can certainly do the Yorkshire accent. Is it the same writer? If it is, she seems to have a thing about suicide.

Judy, I knew you would love Rory. My vet friend sent me that one.

Diane Sue, what kind of operation did your father have? I'm glad that both my husband and I have signed documents with our health care providers and our sons about our wishes concerning life support. I would not want to be brain dead and on life support. Just pull the plug and let me go.

Hi to Josie!

Today was cardio. I wanted to do more of the Cathe Live workouts but really did not want much for impact or weights. I started with Athletic Training Live, stopping at 26 minutes because it was turning into more weight work than I wanted to do. I used no weight on the 3 riser step upright row move and 3's on the lateral raise moves. It is low impact but just not what I wanted since I want the muscles to have a rest for the next weight workouts. This was 176 calories. I then did the live Cathe Road Trip 2015 kickboxing workout, 46 minutes, 310 calories, avg HR 122/ max 141. I used the rebounder for most of the impact like jacks and jump rope. I finished off with 15 minutes of fitness blender stretches. The first one is 9 minutes and a bit more of an active stretch that I like because she starts with the neck and shoulders and works down, all standing. She did this one in a hotel in Oregon. It can be used as a warm up too. The second was just a 6 minute cool down stretch. Total time was 87 minutes and calories burned 522. It was interesting when doing the Kickboxing workout to see one woman was using a rebounder :)

Lynda, my Dad had a urinary tract infection and was dizzy. His son in law went to stay with him and he fell on the stairs and hit his head. He insisted he was okay but the next morning his son in law realized he was not okay. He ran got him to the local hospital and they moved him to Lincoln NE . By now he had so much bleeding in the brain and they were trying to get his blood to not be so thin since he was taking blood thinners. It got to the point where they said it was either do surgery or not. We said yes knowing that he may not ever be the same because there was no way of knowing how much the brain was damaged at that point. I seriously prayed that God would bring him back or if it was His will take him. I had noticed that with some of the women on the workouts. I know they have to be doing good things for their health. I try not to be critical. I did tell my husband that it is obvious that nutrition makes a big difference in physiques. Then again maybe there is health issues? Or maybe their goal is not weight loss?

Deb, I think Greg Twombly does almost every fitness instructor's workout flming. I have some of his wife Sharon's workouts that I really like. I wonder what kind of workouts? Thanks for the link on the flea and tick medicine. I called my vet today and they said I can change out the Nexgard. When we were in England my parents had called an English woman to help wit some ironing. She wanted to raise the price for her services because we were rich "yanks". There was some discussion and she changed it. Later they became very good friends. I used to go riding the countryside with her on bicycles and spent a lot of time with her. She taught me to knit. Her and her husband took my brother and I to the seaside to camp in their caravan (small trailer). Funny, she thought she was giving us a great treat when she had Kelloggs Cornflakes. She served it up with warmed milk. I ate it but it was really not pleasant.

Lorie, I bet Chester loved the walks. I don't take Gertie out enough. If I walk across the street we have woods and a stream running from the small lake by the community pool. It is pretty peaceful. Or sometimes I walk her towards the park below the dam to the big lake.
