ok last time ojon people

I swear this will be the last time I ask. I'm getting ready to buy some ojon products and want to know what youve tried and what youve liked/not liked. Thanks again!

I've tried the hydrating shampoo, hydrating conditioner, styling paste, & the restorative hair treatment. The restorative hair treatment is the only thing I really like. It's 100% palm nut oil & very effective. It's unbelievably versatile--I use it as a deep conditioner (usually at night when I don't have something else to do--I'll put it on under a heat cap for 30 minutes & then rinse but not shampoo. My hair's pretty greasy after but I sleep on it & shampoo it looks really healthy). I also use it as a styling product--if you put a tiny bit in your hand & put it on dry hair & it's pretty good at taming frizzies. Sometimes if I come home in the middle of the day, or am going out at night & don't have time to re-wash my hair, I'll put a little dab in & it revives some shine.

I was totally unimpressed with the other stuff I tried. It cost a bundle & didn't do anything more for my hair than stuff you can buy at your drugstore.

Laura, is the "styling paste" you tried the texturizing stuff? (I just saw an Ojon show on QVC, and that was one of the things that interested me). They also have a shine serum, which looks interesting.

I've used the shampoo and conditioner, and I agree: it's pricey for what you get. I get similar results from the $3 Citrishine shampoo/conditioner I buy at Big Lots. Since all their products are built on the palm nut oil, you could get a similar effect to the shampoo/conditioner by using just a tad of the restorative treatment on a daily basis, as Laura mentioned(you can use it as a once-a-week hair "mask" or much less as a daily conditioner). And if you think about it, the "people of beautiful hair," who have beautiful hair because of the use of the palm nut oil, are using the oil as-is, not in shampoos or conditioners or any of that stuff.

That reminds me: I should use the restorative treatment, which I have(which contains 100# palm oil as the main ingredient, but about 8 other things, including "parfum"/fragrance as ingredient number 2. That stuff really smells strong. And not necessarilyin a good way. Some of that is the oil itself, I suppose, but I wish "parfum/frangrance" were quite a bit farther on down the list of ingredients!)

Aside from the conditioning qualities, I like that Ojon is employing native people and contributing to a better quality of life for them. The company seems very environmentally concerned, and their products contain no animal products and are not tested on animals.

No I don't think it's the texturizing stuff--the paste comes in a jar, I'm pretty sure the other stuff comes in a bottle.

I'm interested in the serum also. I've only used silicone based serums & I think the active ingredients in Ojon's are different. I might give it a shot. If you guys try it, let me know how it works.

So Carmen, I guess this will not be the last time for Ojon here. :)
