Most Hills in an iTread Workout?

tneah

Cathlete
I know we have been discussing these workouts lately, and Lorie posted a very helpful guide. But I would like to know right off hand from you itread people, which itread workout incorporates the most hills into the workout?

I use the walking numbers because I am not supposed to run or jog, so the hills really work my heart and butt! I have several of the 60 minute itreads-I prefer the longer workouts. Which ones do you guys think are the most hilly?

Thanks, hope this isn't redundant, so many questions have already been answered concerning itreads already.:)

tneah-Here are a few that I like with hills. I LOVE HILLS, by the way, so I'm all over that! LOL

Set 8, 60 mins (steady state with heavy hills; continuous speed increasing slowly; speed intervals; fast recovery with small hills and one large hill at the end.)

Set 9, 20 mins One Big Hill (each 2-3 minutes, your hill will become higher. You get a break half way thru, then it’s back up up UP!) tneah-this one is only 20 minutes, but I DARE YOU TO TRY THIS ONE! LOL

Set 11, 40 mins (steady run, 6% hill at halfway mark, steady run with increases, finish on a 4-6% hill)

Set 25, 40 mins, Top 40 (hilly)

I'll wait to see what others post for hill workouts, because I LOVE them soooo much!

tneah, great question. I am just butting in because I would love to know the answer to your question. I have tried itread 9 20 min like Gayle suggested and I love it. I would like to have some longer options too. I hope you get some more recommendations.

Yeah! I would totally LOVE a 60 minute workout of intervals ON HILLS! Maybe I should email Grace, hugh! :)

ETA! OK! I just couldn't help myself...I went to the site and sent in that suggestion! LOL DO NOT blame me if they make one like that! HA!

Hello, sorry to butt in, but I just wanted to second that suggestion for more i-tread hills. I love these workouts!

OOOHH...Gayle, thank you sooo much!:7 You know I am going right over to itrains and downloading number 9 or whatever that 20 minute challenge was! Cannot wait. And, thanks for asking for more hills, I don't love them, but I love what they do for my butt and they keep my heart rate up when walking. ;)

BTW, whats up with the prices now? Sheesh. I just dropped 48 bucks....no more itrains for me now. I get them a la carte, but I have enough to kep my interest for a long time now. Well, until Grace makes some more hilly ones.:7

Tneah,
I think you'd like iTread 25 - 30 minutes with Nick. It's mostly incline walking. There's a segment of side stepping that I can't do because of my ACL reconstruction but I just substitute power walking. There are also a couple of 4 minute sprints which you can probably do as power walking or a slow jog. Here's the breakdown:

*******

iTread25– 30 Minutes w/Nick (35:12) – uses perceived exertion not numbers
Walk (2 minutes) – low intensity
Walk – 3% incline – medium intensity
Walk – 5% incline – increase intensity (about 10 minute mark here)
Walk – 2.5 – 4.0 speed – side stepping 1 minute each side (twice)
Walk – Active recovery
Run – High Intensity (4 minutes)
Walk – Active Recovery
Walk – 7.5% incline – high intensity (4 minutes)
Walk – Active Recovery
Run – High Intensity (4 minutes)
Walk – Active Recovery
Walk – 3% incline – moderate cool down
Walk – 0% incline – cool down (35:12)
