Has anybody seen these, or have these?

I see them all the time in my Bliss catalog (fabulous catalog BTW), and they claim to change the way you walk to "strengthen and engage every muscle in the body." They also claim to improve posture, increase energy, better overall balance, tone and strengthen leg muscles, and get rid of cellulite. To top all of that they also claim to tone abs and buttocks.

They are pricey, $234 per pair. I think it would be very unlikely that I would buy them. It sounds too good to be true to me.

I was just curious to see if somebody out there has them.

Yes, I would too. I think we would of heard more if they really work. But, maybe people don't wear them like they should because, 1. they look kind of odd, and 2. If they are really working muscles, etc. they might make you sore. People might give up too soon.

Anyway, thanks for getting the thread. It's neat that Lizzyc works at Bliss. How cool. 45% discount?!?! That's great!

If you ever buy them please give us a update.

Lori :)

If you read the documents about the shoes they make sense, but I still think they are expensive. You said they are now $234 and when I started that thread in 2003 they were $199. That is way too expensive. They claim that the shoes last a year or two but offer no guarantees about that. I know I have to replace my shoes and insoles at least every 6 months. If I ever buy these they have to promise me that they will last a long time and that they will get rid of every bit of cellulite in my lower body because I can't see myself spending almost $500 a year for sneakers. I would use them for walking and running only, there is no way I would use sneakers like those to do any of Cathe's workouts. The other alternative is to move near a beach and run every morning on sand. Maybe that should be my goal for the next 5-10 years haha.

The NY Times did an article about these shoes a few months ago. If I'm remembering right, at least one expert who reviewed the shoes said that the shoes feel good, have good cushioning and maybe place your body at a bit of a different angle when you're walking, but that there's nothing magic about them that will erase cellulite or somehow get you more magically fit than any other form of exercise.

Yes, I agree Bunbun. Good old fashioned cardio and working up a sweat, weight lifting is probably the only thing to get rid of cellulite, and even then, I don't think one can get rid of it completely.

Rose, I live in Daytona Beach. I am running a 5K on the beach on April 30 for Melenoma awareness. I should get myself down there more often, but running on asphalt is so much easier. :) :)

Thanks for info on the shoes. They looked interesting, but my dh would probably have a fit if I ordered 200 dollar magic cellulite reducing shoes. :)

Lori

Thanks for the info Bunbun. And Lori good for you running a 5K for a good cause :). Yeah your dh would have a fit for sure and that's understandable. I mean if I spend that kind of money on shoes and they don't work I would have a fit for sure haha.

If they did work just by wearing sneakers I might buy them. But, it sounds too good to be true. :) Heck, I would walk around in any clodhopper if they got rid of my cellulite. :)
