lowback injury

Hi everyone. This is only my second or third post. I have been reading the posts and working out with cathe videos for about 5 or 6 months now. About a month ago. I got up one morning with a low back pain that made it difficult to move. I have been receiving quiropractic care and had an MRI done ( I'l go see the results today) I have improved a lot but I'm still not 100% well. Has anyone been in the same situation? I guess I just need someone to identify with and most of all some reassurance that I will be back to normal soon. I have been working out for many many years (I'm 43 now)and can't stand not being able to excersice. Any advise or comment will be very much appreciated.
Thank you
rachel g.

Lower back injuries are a bear, and can take a long time to heal. The good news is that most of them are muscle related, and not serious. The bad news is, they can be so debilitating because your core and lower back are involved in so many every-day movements.

I fell off a horse (the horse fell, and I was thrown off) about 17 years ago, and was in aweful pain for weeks (taking 10 minutes to get out of bed in the morning and whimpering the whole time). And even handing out papers to my students tugged on my back (I could only reach my arm out about 2 inches in front of me before my back 'told' me not to). Regular allopathic doctors did nothing for me (according to their tests, I was "fine") but I went to a chiropractor (my first one) and he helped a lot.

Hope you feel better soon!

If it's o.kayed by your doctors, yoga can help, or if you can do cardio, do no-impact types. Keep your abs and core strong. Avoid impact (ie: most of Cathe's cardio).

Kathrym thanks for sharing your story. If you recuperated I have a good chance too b/c it never took 10 minutes for me to get out of bed, so may be that's a good sing that I will recuparate completly. Are you able to do high impact workouts like Imax?
