So I've now done all of the workouts in the LMR2E series & I love each & every one of them. I really enjoy the functional workouts & the use of lighter weights. I already have so many heavy weight workouts that these are perfect for integrating into my rotations. And I'm figuring out the importance of this type of exercise & the use of lighter weights.
One of the biggest things I've noticed is how these workouts target the smaller muscles surrounding the joints. I feel it in all of my joints but I really notice this in my shoulders the most. I feel like they are working on the STABILITY of the joints, rather than focusing strength. And the way I think of it, it's that stability surrounding the joint that will help give me more of what I need to reduce the risk of injury to the joint, especially as I get older. With all of the balance & mobility work, I'm noticing the same in my hip, knees & ankle joints. I've also noticed that I have a tendency to shrug/lift my shoulders all the time, as well as rounding forward. These workouts are making me aware of using my back muscles to get my shoulders back & down & use those muscles to anchor my shoulders in place. That has to be good for the shoulder joints. I also love the attention to the ankles & feet. It's refreshing to have a smaller amount of core floor work & having standing core worked into the routines. (And I am one of those who likes floor work.) The moves are a mix of fun, new things as well as classic Cathe. I don't like too much repetition in any workout routine & Cathe doesn't have ANYTHING in these that are repetitive. The Balance & Barre Fusion ones are fun & refreshing, but also challenging! The variety is endless!
I love Cathe's enthusiasm, instruction & cueing. I love the cast, setting & music. I love the moves & the varying paces/tempos. I love the variety of the different types of workouts, exercise & equipment.
In a nutshell, I can't find one single thing to say that I don't like about each & every workout.
