ipods

hello, i want to get an ipod but was wondering
(this is probely a dumb question but here it goes anyway)
do you have to use itunes to get the songs on it??
Any advice would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

Michelle

Do you mean do you have to buy the music from iTunes or do you need to use it to load the music onto your iPod?

You can use iTunes to store your music and download it onto your mp3 player without ever buying a single song from the iTunes store. I don't buy music very often but I like iTunes because it's really simple to use. I've downloaded lots of stuff off my CDs and loaded it onto my iPod.

I hope that answers your question.

Shelly I agree Itunes is very user friendly. I have not purchased any music from them but use the software to convert my cds to mp3 format and then transfer to my ipod. It is great for making and organizing playlists

Itunes is fabulous. I love that I just plug my nano into my computer and itunes suddenly appears and takes over. An ipod or nano is the perfect thing for a technophobe because itunes does everything for you. And you never pay a cent unless you want to buy a song, and then it costs $.99, which I also love.

ETA: But you don't have to buy music from itunes. You can take all your songs from your CDs or any other source if you wish.

I have also noticed that they have the new 8G video ipods out for less than $200. I can't remember for sure if they were $149 or $199....I am holding off until Cathe announces her new MP3 workouts before I decide which one to get.
Has anyone purchased one of the new video ipods??

Angie

Angie, would you believe I bought my nano right before they came out with the new ones? I think the new ones are cute, but I don't intend to use mine for video, so I guess I'm not missing anything. I think mine is 4G, but then, I only have about 12 songs on it! :7

Hey! My husband and daughter have the video ipods. They love them, but the screen is kinda too small for me. I like the new iTouch, but there's not enough memory, so I'm holding out until they come out with a version with more memory. Video files can take up a lot of memory, so if you're trying to decide whether to decide between screen size and memory, I'd go with memory...

You will LOVE whatever you get, trust me!!!
