In need of some advice/guidance...

Cathlete
DH has just left on deployment and I have decided to take this time alone and put it to good use. My goal is to lean out and develop more muscle definition. I have been working out pretty consistently throughout homeport but would really like to start a rotation that will give me the results I am looking for. My diet is pretty clean so I think I am doing okay with that. To use in my rotation I have got: CTX series with Circuit Max and Cardio Kicks, Imax 2, Cardio and Weights, Terminator, Body Max, Step Jump and Pump and MIC. Can I get the results I want with what I've got or I could always do some more ordering :) I have also got an elliptical I could use for extra cardio and a gym here on base I could take advantage of.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! THANKS A BUNCH!!!

Hey there. I don't know much about rotations because Im the type that just do what I feel like doing that day. Have you consider just doing the CTX Series which I believe is a rotation itself. I've heard great results on this series. You can also changes things around like instead of doing just the 1 body part maybe do the weight only on 1 day and also instead of doing just the cardio from the CTX you can add a longer cardio like step jump, mic, ect. Im going to give you a link if you already weren't there yet with some public rotations that has Cathe's videos and a description of what kind of results you will get using that rotation http://www.fitnessvideofanatics.com/home/keep.fit. just click on the public rotation and then scroll down to the botton and select rotation by title. Well good luck on your goals:)

Hi Seabee,

I'm in the middle of figuring out whata rotation myself, but I really think Circuit Max, MIC (especially the Hi/Lo), and Body Max are having a positive impact on me.

I wish your DH a safe return home.

I like your choices, Seabeewife, but if you can do some ordering, I think you'd love the Slow & Heavy Series or the Pyramids to boost your muscle building potential. S&H is my favorite and it's done amazing things for my scrawny muscles. The Pyramids are my second fave and can be done moderate to heavy. They are great, focused, easy-to-count-rep workouts.

Bless you and your husband for the sacrifice you make. Good luck with your goals! :)

Thanks Ladies..training hard is going to be my *deployment project*. I need to add some weightlifting videos to my library and I guess this is the perfect time to do it. Which would be better for strength? I would love a more *cut* look without bulking.

Hi,

I would suggest you get the pyramids (these are my fave with Cathe) You will get the cut look you want but not the bulk. Slow N Heavy is a mass building series and will add muscle. However they are excellent if you are working one or two bodypart per day.

I seci=ond Bobbi's suggestion: get both Pyramids and Slow & heavy. They will help you build muscle and lean out. They are what is missing from your workouts library it seems to me.

If you have to chose, I'd recommend the Pyramids or the Pure Strength workouts before S&H. Slow & Heavy is quite effective & I love the postural work in it, but it requires a lot of focus. Cathe recommends using it for 2 or 3 weeks at a time.

You could also save some money & use the gym. By the way, where are you?

Best wishes for you & your family. It must be very challenging.

Debra

Thanks Ladies for all of your advice and suggestions. I really can't decide between Pyramids and Pure Strength..so I think I may get both:)

Debra, We are based out of Southern California:)

I thought you might be since so there's such a Navy presence in San Diego County. I lived in Irvine until last August, when I moved a bit north to La Verne in eastern LA county. Heading down the coast on our bikes was pretty easy from Irvine. One can ride through Camp Pendalton as long as the Marines are not on manuevers. And we've spent a bit of time on Coronado, which seems like it would be a great place to be stationed. Well if, housing were provided.

It gets a bit warm where I live now. Take advantage of your wonderful weather!

Hmm, I've assumed you're in San Diego, but I guess you could be a bit further north. You still have incredible weather!!!
