I nearly died doing PLB

I did it the first time on Saturday and the next day I could hardly move! picking up my 18 month old was a massive challenge - muscles that I didn't know existed were stiff and sore!

Wow - what a workout!

I did it again this morning to free up the stiffness and let me tell you - I almost died again! It is awesome! This morning though, I actualy felt as though I may throw up. what is that about? I rested a bit and got back into it and was fine.

This workout MUST produce results!

Lynne:

as you are easing into the workout, give yourself longer breaks in between sections than Cathe takes. It sounds as if you are feeling like throwing up because this workout really pushes up the heart rate and I think you are not letting yours come down enough before starting the next exercise. Headaches, feeling dizzy and ready to hurl are classic signs of over exertion at the beginning of a training program, or start with new workout type. So, regardless of what Cathe's doing, just pause her, drink water throughout, and walk around a little, get that heart rate down to a more comfortable level until YOU feel ready to move on. When you first start out with a workout, this is what you have to do until your body acclimates to each particular type of workout. There is no shame, I repeat, no shame in taking longer breaks. Listening to your body is the number 1 rule and Cathe would frown at you for not doing that and scurrying to keep up with her. Man! she works fast on this video!!!!

And yes, it will get you good results!

I agree, if you feel like throwing up, you are pushing yourself too hard. Either lighten up the weights or take pauses as Clare suggested or both. Make sure you are well hydrated. You might want to try just the pyramid up or even just the first 2 sets to "ease" into this workout. No shame in working into it safely! :)
