I just had to share with my fitness friends :)

I ran my 9th half-marathon today, the Napa-To-Sonoma Wine Country Half--and I PRed!!! I didn't expect that at all, since it was going to be HOT today (and it was) and I hadn't felt ready because this half is technically not aligned with my training schedule for my full in October. We were supposed to do no more than 6 miles today and... well... I tacked on 7.1 more to that ;).

Anyhow, I ended up being my previous PR by 2 min! Not a ton, I know, but it's still a new PR :).

Sometimes the best workouts happen when you least expect it- and vice versa. Congratulations, flash lightning! You rock!

GO JENNIFER! I'm such a horrible runner, not to mention a slacker, that I'd be lucky to make it through a 1/32-marathon. YOU GO GIRL!!!!! (And what a route to run!)

CONGRATULATIONS!

Sounds like a beautiful run Jennifer! (in scenery and accomplishment) Congratulations on betting your PR!

Way to Go Jennifer!

Way to go Jennifer!! I wish I could run that far! Did you by chance see Valerie Bertinelli? I just read on people.com that she ran it too.

Thank you so much everyone!!! :)

Turns out my PR was only by 40 seconds, not 2 min, but I'll take it LOL!

I didn't see Valerie Bertinelli--I didn't even know she ran it until afterwards, when I was talking to another runner and she said that she was there (as were Jenny Craig and People). I'm so bummed I didn't get to see her. And man oh man, I'm envious of her time! She finished in 2:12, a full 24 minutes ahead of me. You go, girl. Now I'm kind of regretting the bathroom break I took early on, which added 8 minutes to my total time. I could have set an even better PR.

But no matter, it was a good day and I loved the course! So pretty! I wish it hadn't been that warm, but I managed to get through it, so that's all that matters :).

Jennifer

Jennifer, from one TNT alum to another, Valerie Bertinelli should be diappointed SHE didn't get to meet YOU. CONGRATS!!!!! You rock!!!!!!!!

Way to go!!! Any new PR counts, even if it was two seconds it would count!

And it really is hot out here, I live up in the Sacramento area and I feel your pain! I had to go out at 5 am for my jog because any later and it would be too toasty.

Congratulations!
Next time, find a way to cut out that bathroom break, and you'll be sure to get an even better PR!

Kathryn: normally I can go the entire distance without a potty break, but this time around, the pre-race lines were soooo long, I was scared I'd miss the start of the race! I should have stuck it out and gone before. Oh well, next time :).

Which means that you actually would have had a PR of 8 mn and 40 seconds better than previously!
