I am seriously thinking of getting a pool and i am wondering how much work it is too keep it clean.......

also, do any of you have one of those big pools that you inflate (i think)? i have seen them at several different stores (for around $300) and i like the idea of being able to take it down after summer is over.....

TIA

Hi. My quick set pool is filling right at the moment. They are easy to take care of and you get a vacuum part that hooks up to your hose.
My sons are 6&7 and it is perfect for them. It's a little over 3 ft. deep. Not too deep for them and not too shallow for me to go in with them and float around. I think it's worth the investment if you like the idea of taking it down every year.
When the boys get a little bigger we'll probably get a permanent one, although I would rather a new house but that's a whole different topic. But I like having one. Good luck.

We have an above-ground that we had installed about 5 or 6 years ago now (geez...can't believe it's been that long!). My DH does everything for it maintenance-wise, but it does take a fair amount of maintenance. We use Baquacil, which is a little less of a pain than using chlorine. DH put a timer on the filter so it runs all day and shuts off at night automatically, then turns back on automatically during the day because leaving it on all the time was bringing our electric bill up sky-high! We've got an automatic "bug" that you put in the pool and it vacuums the bottom...takes about 2 hours...still nice that it does it by itself, though, as opposed to the manual vacuums...we don't have a deck around it (yet), which I would LOVE to have. To be honest, that might lure me to it more...I got it in a lot during the first and second years we had it, and it's just dwindled over the years...I think I only got in it once last year and haven't even gotten in there yet this year! It makes our backyard look nice, though, lol. :)

When I was pregnant with my son, he was due in September. I was at my biggest and most uncomfortable all through the hottest part of summer...temps over 100 regularly. That pool was a dream!! It saved me, let me tell you. I do not recall it being hard to manage whatsoever, and just like our hot tub now, it is well worth any work it entails in the long run.
