I read something interesting in a current health mag and wanted to see what people thought. It stated that if your hip flexors are too tight (which I assume could happen if you step a lot) it can create lower belly bulge because the tight hip flexors pull at weak lower ab muscles, causing them to bulge out (something to that effect - or maybe it was that tight hip flexors end up doing most of the work during lower ab exercises so your lower abs never get really strong). The article recommended giving your hip flexors a good stretch before doing lower ab work to ensure that the lower ab is getting worked and can get stronger.
Any thoughts? Could this account for the commonly reported lower belly bulge despite being low in body fat and doing tons of ab work?
