Has anyone seen The Amityville Horror yet??

I am thinking about going to see this tonight. Has anyone seen it yet? How does it compare to the original? I am sure the effects are better, but is it creepy?

i want to know too. i think the last time I asked opinions on three movies (Amityville being one of them), most people said it was doo doo
 
I have a GF who saw it. She said it was one of the scariest movies she's ever seen. In fact, she said she could only watch the first 30 minutes of it & she had to leave. So, if you like being scared I guess you should go see it.

I also heard it was very scary too. I WANT TO SEE IT!!! No one will see it with me though. DH hates horror movies and so does my son. My DD might though. I also heard House of Wax was o.k., but not scary.

I saw the movie a couple weeks ago. I did not find it to be half as scary as the original one. It was a bit creepy but not really scary. I would adise to wait until it comes out on DVD!! I am a huge fan of horror movies and this one was a bust!

I was scared by the original & I was scared by this one. I vote you go see it. The younger girls next to me in the theater kept jumping out of her seat. I rarely get scared anymore with scary movies ( I think all the good ones have already been made) but for a remake, this was darn good!

it was awesome! it kept with the orignal storyline very well and even brought in a bit of closure. i found it scarier than the first one cause for me i sat through the first one and just kept waiting for something scary to happen. the scariest thing in the first one for me was when they brought in the history of the family murdered there, and since that was real it was bound to be freaky. of course since it's a modern day movie it had to bring in a little bit more sex appeal, and man Ryan Reynolds with his shirt off for half the movie...um...yeah, that worked for me! :) :) over all it's a very good remake. GO SEE IT!!!

Thanks for all the responses!! I just ordered the tickets to go tonight. I just realized that it's Friday the 13th. I am going to be so freaked out tonight!
