Hey Peeps!

Just wanted to pop in and say hey! It's been a CRAZY week!!! I've been doing all of my same workouts except that instead of my cardio being on the elliptical they have been on the bike, switching between Spinervals and then an hour of steady state (YUK!) keeping my HR around 150 - a necessary evil right now for my training.

Oh - I DID do THREE unassisted chins yesterday in my first set of 8!!! The next set I did 2 unassisted and the last set I did 1 unassisted. I did all of the negs unassisted as usual and I jumped up on all the others. Maybe someday I'll get there. :)

Work is NUTS right now. I'm planning for my summer semester and also for my big summer camp - SEEK (getting proposals in from instructors - some due in today and some due in the end of the month) and then my 3 other summer camps. Our new online registration got ALL SCREWED UP so we have a huge mess. Registrations for spring are coming in like crazy, so I'm really happy about that but it makes it hard for me to get anything done when the phones won't stop ringning. :D We just got the announcement for budget cuts - $1.5 - 1.7 million from our college budget (the whole state has to cut). I also have a big presentation to give tomorrow.

So that's where I've been. I miss you guys! Hopefully things will calm down a little bit in the next few weeks but I hope to be back to normalcy before that.

I hope you all are GREAT!!!!!!!

Today was cardio so I chose one of the Cardio Coach mixes I made up. Had a great workout but I was done when I hit challenge #4. What was I thinking putting a 6 - 1 minute sprint challenge with only 30 seconds rest at the end of this mix? Crazy I tell you! It was fun, though. I was suppose to do abs as well but I'm saving that for tomorrow. I have more time tomorrow since I'm off.

Cardio stats:
63 minutes total
5 minutes below zone
25 minutes in zone
33 minutes above zone
523 calories burned!!!
4 miles travelled

Suz - Nice job on the chins! Woo hoo!!!!

Morning Maniacs! I feel like myself today, thank goodness! :) I did Drill Max Ultra Cardio Blast Premix or something like that- the one that is 63 minutes long. It did cardio drills 1-6 TWICE. Holy night, didn't know that going into it. Then I did 4DS LIS abs. I burned 710 calories.

Suz: I was wondering where you were! Good job on those chins. What do you do exactly? I get that you work for a university, right?

Debbie: High calorie burn on that workout! WTG!

Teddygirl: I had to mention the TVs-- you go! Now no excuses on working out. ;)

I loved the Oprah conversation the other day- just didn't get a chance to comment. My thought- I am all about body acceptance in the sense that we all aren't going to look like a Victoria's Secret model. BUT, I think when we skew that acceptance to talk ourselves into being unhealthy and being "OK" with that, well, it's not right. That's what I feel she is doing.

Love the empowerment conversation yesterday, too. Good stuff- no one better mess with any of us now. :)

Still reading BFFM...I'd like to finish it this weekend and start doing it next week sometime. How is it going for you Shana?

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning:D

This morning, I did CC#1 only 20 minutes and Muscle Max. I won’t list stats for MM. I matched Cathe in weight work. I ran out of time, did not do abs, will do tonight, me promise:)

Stats:

162 cals burned
1.5 miles travelled

Suz: Nice going on them chin ups you has made awesome progress, nice! ;)

Debbie: Nice job:)

Patti - Nice going with DM! I should have checked that workout out and do it, but my right knee bothers me when I do step so I've been sticking with my TM.

Teddygirl - I like your combo of CC and MM. Nice idea!!!

Today I did Low Max and the premix of Low Impact Circuit Timesaver Cardio Blast. I did all the wups and cool downs because I am trying to get the calorie burns all logged down. Then I did Tracey's Yoga Solutions Post Run segment and the first 18 minutes of Keli's Flexibility Foam Roller workout. Total Calories burned was 951 45% fat. I burned 501 calories doing Low Max and 364 calories doing Low Impact Circuit Cardio. Today Amy Bento Starts her presale for her Kettlebell workout and a CIA Kickbox. Today only there is free shipping.
I have some things to get done so will check back later:)

Diane Sue, you must love to do cardio. I'd die if I did that much cardio in one day! LOL! Nice job and excellent calorie burn!

Diane Sue - are you going to get the Bento DVDs?? I am thinking about getting both. And do you have Lauren Brooks? I can't remember. I keep thinking I don't want that one, but it is so popular. I think she would bother me though. I asked somebody on this forum about that, but I can't remember who - sorry if I am repeating myself! Amazing calorie burn today - wow. I think I would be spent for the entire day after that workout!

Patti - seriously?? You think you will finish by the weekend? I only have time to read at night but I want to get that book finished so I can get on with the eating. Well, I could have read yesterday when I was wasting so much time here... Good news is if I had sat down to read, I would never have gotten back up - at least the computer I just check in on while doing other stuff!

Suz - good to see you here again! Hope your days settle down. On the upside, makes my work seem tame...I am feeling frazzled but now I know that I can't complain! And great job on the chins :)

Debbie - I need to make up some CC mixes. Not that I would ever get bored of Coach Sean, but...I need some change, as usual. When the workouts are memorized, it's time to mix it up. Sometimes, knowing them by heart is comforting though. What I really want is him, here or me, there in one of his classes :p

Teddygirl - I like MM - it is good for a change. Going to remember to use CC#1 with it - that does sound good. Which did you do first? I know there is a lot of debate about that but I just read that if you do weight work first, it uses your glycogen stores up first so that cardio will use the fat stores for energy, plus you will have more energy for proper form if you do weights first. Makes sense to me, but for every article that says this, there are just as many that say to do cardio first.

Had to walk some dogs last night and my back was really bothering me so I figured back work was not in order. Going to try that today, lowering weights and see how that goes. Not sure what I will do about legs this week but it will be low weights - got to be better than nothing though, and certainly better than making things worse and being out longer.

Have to supervise a basketball game tonight and having dinner with a girlfriend, so today is my rest day! Thank goodness…. need one after yesterday’s workout! :)

Anyone watch CSI? Tonight is Grishom’s last episode :( William Peterson is such a talented actor. I will miss his dry humor and fasicnation w/bugs!

Suz....wondered where you've been! Yipee on the unassisted chins!:):):)

Hi to everyone else. Off to a principals meeting...bbl.

Hey Maniacs!!!

Today is my planned rest day and I really need it anyways. Woke up to what I thought was smoke detectors going off and Bobby showed me it was really the carbon monoxide unit that was going off. Good grief. Little sleep. His coughing was bad last night. I didn't think he should go to work because his coughing is so violent and he had a few blackouts. He went to work anyways and blacked out while driving. He is fine, but the car is not. Could have been much worse. He is sleeping now and I am just grateful he is fine.

Charlotte - OH MY GOSH! I was scared just reading your post. I am so glad he is ok. Did he ever go back to the doctor? Hugs, girlfriend -

And what made the carbon monoxide detectors go off? Fluke or was there some of that in the air? Wonder if maybe something has a slow leak and he is more susceptible than you, or if he is near whatever is leaking more than you are during the day???

I am having lunch. I made the Turkey Breast Mushroom Stew off of Oxygen Magazines site. It is good. I drained and rinsed the beans though and added a little extra water to cut down on the sodium. Also subbed Kidney beans for the pinto beans. I went to the calendar on the workout manager and checked the calorie burn Cathe had listed for Low Max and I was 1 calorie off:) She had 502 and I had 501.

Charlotte, it sounds like Bobby really needs to talk to the doctor. Maybe I missed it but why is he having blackouts? Glad he wasn't hurt.

Debbie, I haven't been doing the long cardios very often so I just felt likeI wanted to do it.:D The kettlebell workouts and weights have been giving me good calorie burns so have cut back. It looks like you got in a good calorie burn too;)

Shana, I ordered Amy's dvd's this morning. I had a friend send me Lauren Brooks workout along with several others to try when I got my first kettlebell. I think it is a pretty good workout but I also think it would sit on the shell quite a bit. She does cardio moves through some of it and I worry about the overhead swings (that can be done differently though).

Suz, hopefully things settle down for you at work. Glad you are back.

Sonya, enjoy your rest day.

Patti, nice calorie burn. Glad you are doing better today.

This morning I did the step combos from Imax 2 and Cardio & Weights, then did the cleans and played around with the windmills from Providence, then did the floor stretch from Tamilee's Stretch DVD. Workout was !:14 and burned 568 calories.

Suz
- ^^^^^5's way to go on the Chins! That's how I started.

Diane & Shana - I ordered the Amy DVD's this morning.:D

Char - Glad to hear Bobby is alright. How scary!

Shana and Diane Sue,

Yes, he did go back to the doctors and got some stronger meds. One is predisone. I didn't realize it was a steroid until this morning. lol. I don't know much about drugs cuz I try not to take them..I don't like to take advil..so what do I know? lol.

Anyways, his coughs would just be violent enough that he would black out at times. (I never coughed like that myself) Anyways, that is when he is coughing and not so much anymore. He is actually getting better, but he is soooooo very tired from all his body has gone thru and lack of sleep. I never realized bronchitis took so long to get rid of. I figured a week, if that. Our daughter is sick too. Took her to doctors yesterday. She is feeling better though as she recovers quickly from sicknesses. Just an upper respiratory infection.

And thanks about Bobby!

Toasty: I hope your hubby get better too. Sorry about the car. Make Bobby stay in the bed until he's better sending you and bobby a hug ((((hug)))):)
