I bought a "rainbow"-like vaccuum a few years ago and really liked some things about it, and really hated other things about it. First of all, I liked the power, and that you could also use it to clean up minor spills and stains. What I didn't like is this:
You lug it around after you. It will be on wheels but they are heavy and not very stable due to the water. Don't knock it over, or you will have dirty water spilling everywhere!
They are not compact at all, you need a lot of closet space to store them. I don't have the space for it anymore.
You have to clean it out after every use, or it will get very STINKY. And I mean, really clean it out. Empty, rinse, wipe it out.
Oh, and you must dump it into the toilet due to the solid debris, so you will need to clean the toilet after also. It usually took me an additional 10 minutes or so to clean the vaccuum, on top of the time it took to vaccuum.
The plastic components were very cheap and the spot where the hose met the vaccuum cracked from being dragged around. I had to duct tape the hose to the vaccuum in order to use it.
So my advice is if you must have a water vaccuum buy a high quality unit that will have a warranty and service behind it, if you need it. I have heard VERY GOOD things about rainbow, but they are around $3,700.00 new. Maybe if I won the lottery...
