Gym Style Series vs. Pyramid U&L Body

Elln

Cathlete
If I already own Cathe's Gym Style Series, do you think it is just duplication if I purchase her Pyramid series?

Elln

Elln, absolutely not a duplication! The pyramid workouts are so versatile and easily modified for slower heavier work. I do like the gym styles but for a full upper or lower body challenge in about an hour the pyramids are irreplaceable. JMHO;-) I never think of these as duplicate, for me that applies more to the Gym Styles and Pure Strength Series.

I think both are excellent series (though I always modify PLB especially by putting in longer breaks between sets, and the GS by putting in longer breaks between body parts).

I've always found PLB to have "just the right" lower body exercises, without anything superfluous, even without doing the stability ball work at the end.

PLB and GSL are currently duking it out for the place of "favorite lower body workout' in my collection.

And as Laurie says, PS and GS are more similar, both as three-day splits, and in their feel.

Due to time constraints, I prefer 2-day over 3-day splits. The Pyramids are very effective and versatile. The abs section in PUB is one of the best!

I have them both. I did pyramid upper today. I am feeling the burn.
I like them both.
Gym style is a little different. Pyramid i thik works with more total reps.
I like them all variety.
One week gym style . I week pyramids, 1 week slow and heavy.
They all work you differently.
Kinda like cross training so your muscles don't adapt.
