Fitness Goal Reached! What are you working toward?

I just had to post because I am so excited. After a month of dilligent training, I am finally able to do an unassisted pull up! I was so excited I did a few laps around my living room with my arms in the air like Rocky. My poor husband thought I was nuts! It got me thinking, what are some of you working towards? Isn't it great when we reach those little exercise goals?

Good job! Pull-ups and chin-ups are two of the absolute best exercises for upper body, right up there with push-ups, so it's worth it to be able to do them. They are hard because they work so good!!!
Just Do It! :)

Congratulations! That's one thing I yet have to learn. I'm getting one of those pull-up bars for the doorway and hoping I can do one unassisted pull-up by the end of the year.

Another goal is to add 5 lbs. to all the weights I use for all mass building exercises for upper body. I'm one of those who adds weights by small increments. Safer that way.

Yet another goal is to learn to REALLY appreciate my rest periods and stop getting antsy over how much strength or endurance I might lose (which is really negligible if it's just a few days).

I would like to be able to do ALL the push-ups in GS Chest & Tris on my toes.

And match Cathe's weight on biceps in ME.

And do more than one pull-up.

That's about it:)

Hmmm.. Pull-ups is definitely on my list!! I should get a bar first, though ;)

Next would be to be a dedicated runner (jogger ;)) again. Just a few years ago, 10 miles happened occassionally without too much effort. Now... well... not so much.

I just started yoga, and that opens up a million new doors of goals. Today we tried handstands against a wall and I was too afraid to get myself up there :(. Last time I tried that, I broke a collar bone quite badly. I want to get over that fear and be able to do it within a few weeks. Being able to do downward dog correctly would be quite nice, also :D.

Congrats on the pull-up!!

My only goal is to workout 5 times a week for the next five weeks as my schedule is going to be INSANE for a while. Good for you on your pull up!!!
