Fat flush workout rotation please? Let me know if I am over doing it.
I have a huge belly (no seriously, HUGE and it is full of fat! I can show you a picture of you send me your private email address so you can see this I am not exaggerating! – I know, you are probably saying ‘no thanks’! LOL!!).

I have written to Tom Venuto to advise me on my eating - cause this Abs Diet plan is tooooooo slow! I should have lost at least 6# already (in 3 weeks) but I haven't. So I am hoping Tom would look at my diet and advise how to proceed.

But I need you to please look at my workout rotation and advise if I am doing this correcting. I don't want to over exert myself and hurt myself.

This Sunday (Apr 12/09) week - I am going to get OFF the Abs Diet workout plan (I may keep the eating plan depending on what Tom says). But my workout routine I have scheduled is as follows:

Week 1 (starts Monday, April 13/09):
Monday: Low Intensity Circuit – Cardio only
Tuesday: Full 72 minutes Drill Max
Wednesday: BodyMax 2 – Cardio only
Thursday: Yoga/Stretch
Friday: Full 72 minutes Drill Max
Rest on Saturday

Week 2:
Monday: Full 90 minutes BodyMax 2
Tuesday: Step Blast cardio premix
Wednesday: BodyMax 1 cardio only
Thursday : Full 90 minutes BodyMax 2
Friday: Yoga/Stretch
Saturday: Interval Max Cardio
Sunday: Rest

Week 3:
Monday: Kickmax
Tuesday: Power Hour (am) & 4DS Bootcamp (pm)
Wednesday: Rhythmic Step
Thursday : Power Hour (am) & HIIT cardio (pm)
Friday: Kickmax
Saturday: Rest
Sunday: Yoga/Stretch

What do you think? The goal is to incinerate the 9month prego belly full of fat. I have also upped my water intake to ensure am not retaining water.

Your input/changes will be immensely appreciated.

Merci.

Hi- I don't see too much heay weight lifting in your rotation and see alot of intense cardio. There's BodyMax upperbody, but that's only once.

One thing I noticed about the Chalene Extreme before/afters is they lost alot of belly fat. Maybe you need more regular weight training, not necessarily CLX, but you could use Cathe's Gym Styles, the upper body premix in BodyMax 2, 4 Day Split weight work.

Are you eating enough for all the cardio you are doing? Or eating too much? Eating plays a big part, writing it all down helps. Hopefully the person you e-mailed can give you better advice there.

do you have metabolic syndrome?

Insulin resistance? That could slow down your weight loss. There are very specific things you can try to deal with that. Also, it really is the eats.

.....

Frankly nightowl81, I have never understood the science behind lifting heavy upper body weight. I find that I do get big and my breasts feel heavy - so I keep the weights low. Ten years ago, I had my breasts reduced by surgery and I don't want big melons. Chest workouts (flies and push ups) tend to make me broad in that area so I lift lighter weights (10# maximum).

I do use 15# for bench press and biceps. If I am not tired, I do use 15# for shoulder work too. I don't think I can (yet) go heavier than that.

Hello RapidBreath,
The doctors said I am healthy and normal - except my tummy produces too much acid which is not an issue. Frankly, I don't know what that means - but a work colleague suggested to check my cortisol level. Instead, I searched the net on cortisol and after reading Tom's article yesterday, I realized this could be the answer.

So cortisol could be a factor - but I also have to taken a 15th look at my diet and see what I am doing wrong. Yesterday, I had an "aha moment" when I was enjoying some peanuts (allowed in the Abs diet) - that they are high in calories, I knew, but they were also salted and I kept gobbling them down like rice. So while I think my diet is clean - it really isn't - especially on cheat days. So a new change is in order...

Here's the link to Tom's article on abdominal stress.

I am going to ease into raw foods starting next week. 50% raw and the rest will be lean proteins, whole grains and no cheat meal for the rest of April.
Let's see....

Thanks for very good responses. Got me to research, which is always good.

change...

I am going to change my workout routine noted above to something 'static' each week.

Every day will include a 90 minute workout.
I will either split the routine or do it all in one shot depending on how I feel in the morning.

I will try to ease into eating 50% raw foods.
And, starting May 2009, I will join a gym so I can spin.

I refuse to carry this belly into summer months. I just refuse to!
