dress shoes ( a perfect 10.5)

So here is my question...why don't the dress shoe makers and designers or cobblers out there make a size 10.5 shoe? I see size 10 and a size 11 but no 10.5, yet all of the smaller sizes come in half sizes. For some strange reason this only applies to dress shoes.

Okay...I'm done whining, but I will continue to ponder the caper of the missing size 10.5!

I think because shoes sizes pretty much used to stop at 10 (which I know well ;-) ). But in the last 10 years or so, shoes are available in larger sizes. I don't know why they didn't add in the half sizes - maybe it's a profit thing.

After I had kids my feet changed to a 10.5 left/size 11 right. I'm so happy I can buy shoes, though. Growing up, my mom had to drive me to another state to buy shoes!

I was chatting with the owner of a local shoe store, and he said that nowadays he sees more and more teenagers coming in with larger feet - I guess we're gradually getting bigger!

Nordstom's has a good selection of shoe sizes 10 and up. You could check if they have an online store. Good luck! My niece has a size 12 foot and Nordstom's has been a blessing.

I never see 10.5. I'm a 9.5 and have a hard enough time at places like DSW because they only ever get one pair in that size in. *shrugs* But, at least they make my size.

Dayna - you brought back some funny memories of my mom who passed away last year. She was a size 11, too, and when I was growing up as you recounted, size 11 was next to impossible to find. She got into the habit of whenever she found a pair of shoes in a store that fit, she bought them. Well, as time went on, and size 11 became more readily available, she never stopped her shoe buying. When she passed away, we found boxes of size 11 shoes that she bought but never wore. And my DH thinks I have a shoe fetish. My aunts, who are 5'11 and up had fun cleaning out the closet for my dad.
