I know this has been discussed but can't find an answer. I have downloaded to my computer but would like to put them on DVD or CD. Can I use Windows Media to burn to DVD or is there another way to get this to work? Also can I put them on a CD-R or do they need to go on a DVD-R?

It you have a "write" dvd player with your computer, you can do this. I could usually get 2-4 Cathe LIVES on one Dvd-r, depending on their lengths (GB). If you don't have a "write" dvd player, you can buy an external one with a USB port or hdmi port to attach to your computer to do this also.
ETA: I find it more convenient now to put my downloads on a small USB flash drive and plug that into the USB port on my Sony DVD player. Takes much less time than burning them to a dvd which is what I used to do.

if you have a new tv, you can transfer your file to a flash drive and plug it straight to your tv. You do not need to burn dvd to play your purchased files. DVDs are literally obsolete and we all need to keep up with technology and venture into new options.
if you prefer to burn your dvds do so but file transfer onto a flash drive and plugging to a usb slot tv is a straight simple way of playing your downloads. It works perfectly for many.
No, you can't put them on CDs, it has to be DVDs if that is your choice! "FitSaxe" is right suggesting storing them into a USB portable drive and connect it to your TV's usb slot! You can use Windows Media Player to write into your computer's CD/DVD attachment or better use a very effective software "imgBurn". I have, among others, all Cathe's videos, even the old ones (extracted from DVDs and converted) stored on a 2 TB portable USB drive making it easy to access whatever workout whenever wanted to access om my TV screen!

I used a free download called WinX DVD author. I'm horrible at tech stuff, but it burned my DVDs quickly and did everything for me... it was just a few steps and very intuitive. It does have to be a DVD (rather than CD). My DVDs were R/W (read/write), but I'm not sure that that was necessary... it's just all that I had. lol I prefer DVDs for many reasons, but one is because I'm very visual, and the covers help "trigger" my memory of the actual workout more than the title does. I printed pics for each of the downloads from the pics Cathe used to announce each one. I printed the time and description too, and poked them into the covers I provided for the DVDs (as well as handwrote the # that proves I obtained them legally on each one). lol When I donated a bunch of DVDs (other instructors) that I just didn't enjoy, I kept the cases, and slipped the DVDs into CD cases. That way, the donated workouts will still protected, but the ones I put on DVD were in the same size case as the rest of my collection, and able to be labelled and organized in a similar manner. I tried using Windows Media to burn the downloads, but was not successful. Like I said... I'm not great with tech stuff, so it could have been user error. lol My computer was also becoming more and more uncooperative after my Windows 10 expired, and pretty much crashed when I attempted to do the Windows 11 update, so... that could have contributed to the issue. WinX DVD, though? I had no problems. So, if you can't get it done with Windows Media, try WinX DVD.

. There is also a free WinX DVD Ripper that extracts from DVDs and converts into various formats!

Since we discussed about downloads in other thread, I would like to let you know that I am still using Window10. I got an extension of the license for a year and I have no issue managing download files.

To cut and join/combine files, I opted for Freemake. It is a software recommended to me by a lovely cathlete who pm me a long self-explanatory instruction. she introduced me into blending my own premix.
Now I can make my own basic premixes. I have also burnt a DVD using a basic DVD, not a DVD-R.
I prefer a USB flash as the dvd process is a long winded option.
That said it is great to have options. Now I need to put a back up process in place.
There is a very simple way of playing your files as soon as you donwload them as mp4v file. All you need to do is change the extension from mp4v to mp4. You then upload them all onto a USB flash drive. After that you can just plug it to a usb slot of your tv. That should work for an android tv.

To visualize video clips on a Windows PC/laptop screen instead of just seeing the file titles, you can enable thumbnail views and the preview pane in your computer's file explorer. These settings work for files stored on external drives just as they do for internal ones.
Enable Thumbnails:
Open File Explorer and plug in your media.
Click the View tab in the top menu.
In the "Layout" section, select a view like Medium icons, Large icons, or Extra large icons.
If thumbnails still don't appear, click the three-dots menu (...) > Options > View tab. Uncheck the box for "Always show icons, never thumbnails" and click Apply.
Enable the Preview Pane:
In File Explorer, go to the View tab.
In the "Show" section, check the box for Preview pane (or use the shortcut Alt+P).
A pane will appear on the right. Clicking a video file should display its content, and you may even be able to play it within that pane.
Your license is valid as long as you are having and using windows 10 on your computer! You don't need an extension! The only difference from before is that you will no longer receive security updates or even operating system updates, that might affect drivers' functionality! This means that you can enjoy using windows 10 as long you accept those restrictions; it is, functionally, yours as long as you wish it to be! Just to give you an example: I have a valid license for MS Office Pro 2013, which I got, for about 10$, through my employer then! This is the one I'm still using until today, on my new laptop, with Windows 11 pro, accepting no all kinds of updates, but still getting all the functionallity I need to create word, powerpoint and excel files.
By "visual"... I guess I should also add "hands-on". lol I kind of get distracted on a computer. When I'm planning my workouts, I have an index card system I use. If, however, my plans change (or I just can't get in the mood for what I had planned) and I need a shorter workout or different workout (ex. think I might be coming down with something, so I want a "lighter" workout than planned)... I just go straight to my DVDs. I look at the titles and the covers and have one selected in less than 2 minutes. When I use a computer for ANYTHING, I tend to come to this site, check my e-mails, dink around on Facebook... lol I end up with NO time to workout. lol I have to have those cases in my hands... it keeps me focused on what I'm supposed to be doing. Menopause has kind of turned my brain into that of a distracted toddler... I forget what I'm doing, if I leave the workout room, answer a phone, dink around with a computer. lol I've made a rule for myself that once in the workout room... I'm not allowed to leave until I've finished AND put my equipment away. lol
So, it is all about distraction! You are not alone and it is not a her thing, it is a human thing! Psycologists call it procrastination! Humans try to find excuses (sometimes unintentionally) for not to do or postpone doing planned things for whatever reasons! You are good, disciplined and aware of it, Hurray!!!
