I was wondering, has anyone on this forum lost 40-50lbs and if so what eating plan did you you use? I have been exercising regulary for about a year and I am now ready to change my bad eating habits. I know Atkins is very popular and low carb as well as a million other ideas:):):) but I would be interested to see what you guys are doing out there.
Thanks,
Bev :):):):)

Hi Bev, I have lost 44 pounds and am currently maintaining that loss. I started in August 2002 at 172 pounds (5'3" and 47 years old). The first thing I did was to start exercising...I purchased the Firm Body Sculpting System 1 and used that faithfully for about a month, exercising 3-4 times per week.

During that second month I started cleaning up my eating by cutting out all white flour, potatoes (eating yams instead), white rice, white refined sugars etc....basically trying to get close to the whole foods type thing and trying to keep carbs between 150-200 grams a day. I ate mostly fruits, veggies, proteins, nuts, etc. I did that for probably about 5 months and lost 22 pounds while continuing with the Firm workouts but upping the days per week to 4-6.

I kept getting sinus infections and going on antibiotics/prednisone and as a result developed systemic Candida Alibcans. So at that point I went to a low carb/anti yeast/molds regime because Candida feeds on any kind of sugar. I lost the next 22 pounds while following that regime. I've been maintaining well for about 7-8 months now and during that time found Cathe!
