Crazy Strong and Loving It for June 2

This morning I got up and did KPC (warm up, drills, 3 combos and abs). My HR was really low for some reason. Maybe I was super well-rested...I need to stretch after work. I feel like I have so much to do though as we leave for vacation on Saturday. I need time off just to get ready for the time off.

Nora - thanks for the race love!!!! Nice job on your workout (as always)

Roxie - I hear you on the heat. I've been wanting to run, but it's way too hot to do that unless I get up in the AM and go. Maybe tomorrow...

Hope everyone's day is starting off well!

Today was cardio and I chose Body Max 2 Timesaver Cardio Only Premix and then I did the abs in this workout too. Had a great sweaty workout. Love this step workout. I started out with 2 risers but then it was just too hard due to the humidity. Plus my knee is feeling good and I didn't want to chance it. So I used 2 risers with the warmup and the first step combo and then I lowered it to 1 riser.

The ab work in this workout is excellent. Lots of lower ab work and I get a really good burn with it.

HR STATS - cardio only:
47 minutes total
55 seconds below zone LOL!
8 minutes in zone
36 minutes above zone
387 calories burned

Was hoping for more of a calorie burn but I'm ok with that. Should have done the Cardio Blast premix, it's an hour, but I wanted to get abs in today.

Hi ladies, So weird story before I get into my workout today and personals. Last night I went for a run after work with Scott right on the water which was gorgeous but it was SUPER muggy as it just downpoured right before we ran (but thankfully it lifted just for us!). We ran about 5 miles at a good pace (for me anyway) and I was psyched - until I got in the car to go home and suddenly was SUPER nauseous. It got progressively worse at home to the point where I really thought I would puke or something. I laid on the couch the rest of the night, sipping water, eating saltines and drinking fresca. I didn't even eat dinner (which is unlike me since I'm a good eater LOL) and didn't feel better until I went to bed at the ripe old time of 9:00. It was the weirdest thing, no idea what it was - I didn't feel dehydrated or anything but perhaps I was, combined with the mugginess, it just got me all out of sorts? I don't know, it was strange man, not a fan. Blech!

So needless to say, I woke up RAVENOUS which progressively worsened during spin class. Oops, should've eaten something first but I was sorta gun-shy after last night. It was still a good sweaty workout though and I filled up on some almonds as soon as I got home which helped. Protein bar at work did the trick just now, feeling MUCH more like myself, thankfully. Anyway, randomness huh?

On to personals...

Debbie - love Body Max! That's still a good calorie burn btw, but I know what you mean, damn numbers! ;)

Heather - nice job on KPC, that's an oldie but goodie in my book!

Debbie - glad you had a fun workout. I stopped doing that premix (and the other cardio one) b/c I did them SOOOO much. I loved it. Maybe it's been long enough and I can try it again. I love the abs from that DVD too.

Jessica - I've had that happen before. It might have been the humidity/mugginess. Do you have any sinus drainage going on? Sometimes that makes me feel icky too. There are so many factors that can affect our workouts too, little things that we don't even think should matter. Glad you're feeling better today at least!

Good Morning,

After work I will go for a walk and then do the upper body add on from Basic Step. I am having a hard time deciding what I want to do this month so I would like some votes. Chalene Extreme for 3 months, Insanity for 8 weeks or Rev Abs for a month.

Debbie-great workout and atta girl for getting your abs done.

Heather-good job with KPC suppose to be cooler here today.

Jessica-any chance you could be pregnant? Good job with the run and spin class.

Nora-did you have good results from Insanity?

LOL no way, no pregnancy here! ;-)

Last night I did CCV3 and CTX back. I tend to pass right over the CC workouts that have sprints in them but I decided to suck it up last night. I really hate sprints... Tonight is a cardio-free night for me. I'm working legs. Probably Leaner Legs since I'm on a CTX kick. I'm liking this one body-part per day rotation. I feel like I have more focus.

Debbie - I'm going to try that BM2 Timesaver Cardio only premix on Thursday night. I don't think I have ever done that one...

Jessica - very random. Maybe it was just the weather? Glad to hear you are feeling better today though. Your adamant response to Roxie's suggestion made me chuckle!!!

Heather - do you have any big plans for your vacation?

Roxie - enjoy your walk.

Hi Nora, Belinda, Chris & Jolene.

Hi Nora, Belinda, Chris & Jolene.

HAHAH I know, I was pretty adamant wasn't I?? I'm just soooo not in that mode yet, ya know? You'd think after almost 6 years (on Saturday!) of marriage I'd be ready but nope, I think that "mom" gene is dormant in me LOL

Roxie - hope you enjoy your walk. Maybe try Insanity????

Melissa - glad you're liking the 1 muscle group workouts. And good job pushing through those sprints. My one plan for vacation is to sit my lazy butt on the beach (under umbrella) and read all day long! Oh, I'll get in workouts of course, and shopping is a must, but most of the time will be spent in the sand.

Jessica - your response was exactly why I didn't mention being pregnant LOL. Congrats on the upcoming anniversary by the way!

Hey Girls!

Didn't see the check in earlier, so I'm posting now!

I debated on my cardio today. Thought maybe I'd split it up and do 30 of step or KB and then run at the park. But I decided to give the run my all. I ran 10 minutes LONGER than I did on Monday, so I went for a full hour! I also did hill sprints and stair sprints (quite a few of them!),. It was a gorgeous day for a run here, sunny, 80, dry! Beautiful!!!

Great workouts today girls!!!

Jessica: I'm going to have to go with the theory that it was the mugginess. It was NASTY out yesterday and I can't believe you ran in that!! FOr THAT long! Even if you are hydrated, it's a different climate your body isn't used to.... Oh, and my DH and I were married 7 years before we had our first child. We never really felt it before then either. And suddenly we did!

Heather: Nice vaca plans! so jealous! I'm going next week with my 14 yr old son on his 8th grade Washington DC trip! (as a chaperone!). It is NOt going to be relaxing, but definitely interesting!

Hey Melissa: Going to try those biga$$ marshmallow roasting tongiht!!! will let you know how it goes! EEK! Leaner (MEANER) Legs, that one is a goodie!!!

Debbie: Nice job on that premix. I've been wanting to do a BM2 premix lately!

Roxie: Enjoy the walk! and upper body! ... Insanity gets my vote too! I know you said you weren't so much into weights, and I'm pretty sure Insanity has minimal (any?) heavy weight lifting!!

*waves* to Nora!!!!
(hope I didn't miss anyone!?!)

time to make some dinner!

Hi girls!;)

I just finished my workout about an hour or so ago. I had to go and pick up my youngest son from Middle school.

Here's today's workout:

Insanity- Max Interval Circuit= 60 Min
Calories burned= 942

4DS KB Premix Lower Body Wts Only= 31 Min
Calories burned= 254

Total calories burned= 1196:eek:;)

Yeah, only 4 days left of Insanity! Its been fun and challenging. Today I was dragging butt because MS fatigue was so bad today I didn't even have any enthusiasm to workout today and limited energy but I couldn't let myself skip a workout.

Heather- Nice job on KPC, that's always alot of fun and a total sweatfest for me. I love kickboxing with a passion. I'm glad you had a great workout today with KPC, its a fave of mine.

Debbie- I love BM2 as well. I know sometimes I can't do the same number of risers as Cathe & Crew do. There is nothing wrong with doing the same workout but on lower risers. That's just modifying it for you and Cathe would likely tell you to do what is best for you. I say great job on the workout and the modifications. I agree don't risk hurting your knees by using more risers than you know you can handle. Exercise smart and be safe! Great workout with BM2 its a killer. I haven't done the premixes from it. I usually just do the whole thing when I do it, but I haven't done that one in a while but its still a fave.

Jessica- Wow, that's a weird experience. It might have been a bit of heat exhaustion is my best guess. I'm glad that it did go away though. Its scary when stuff just hits you like that. I hope your feeling much better today. ;) Congrats on your 6 years of marriage.:)

Roxie- I'd like to be able to tell you which workout to do but I can't. Your a better judge of what workout is best for you and what you can handle. I've not done Chalene Extreme, or Rev Abs. I will say that Insanity does make you use your body as the equipment that really works you out good. You will use your abs in every workout. You will use your body as the resistance to work your shoulders, upperbody, and legs. Its a well laid out program that really works you in ways you've never imagined for not using any equipment. Your body is the only equipment you need and lots of water and a sweat towel. I'm partial to insanity but I don't know what type of workout you prefer. If you do decide to do insanity go with the workouts from the first 4 weeks, they are easier than the second 4 weeks. whatever workout you decide on have fun and modify for your situation or concerns. In Insanity modifying can mean make the movements smaller, don'g jump as high. I had to modify at times for knees and MS concerns. Just do what you can do as much as you can on that given day. Don't worry if you can't keep up with those on the DVD. Most of all have fun! Yes, I've seen results but I must confess I don't weigh myself its too depressing and I don't eat as clean as I'd like. I noticed clothes fitting me better through the midsection and my legs and upperbody feels more lean and sculpted.

Melissa- Great job on CCV3 and CTX back!!! I love Cardio Coach and Volume 3 is a favorite for me. I have CTX is a wonderful resource of great workouts. There's a lot of bang for the buck with those. Upperbody split is a dom maker and Leaner legs is too! Both are great and so are all the rest of the workouts on CTX. Wow, girl you had a great workout, good for you!;):)

Heather- Love your idea of a vacation. I love to read too. Only thing is I burn like crazy since my skin is fair I practically glow in the dark and burn to a crisp in any sun. Having said that I've gone to Australia twice and even stayed in the Outback in 120 degree temps. That was before I was diagnosed with MS though. Since being diagnosed with MS I've been back to Australia 1 time but not the outback.

Chris- WTG, girl you definitely got your running workouts in that's for sure! Bravo! Great job on your workout!;):)

Belinda- Hi and hugs to you. I hope your feeling better and the doctors can help. I hope your not going to have to change your flight back. Take care and get lots of rest and most of all feel better!;)

Wendy- Hugs and hello's to you too! I hope things are going well for you, don't be a stranger and say hi to us.

Jolene- Hi's and waves! Happy Wednesday to you!;)

That's it for me, I'm exhausted due to MS fatigue and don't have much strength in my right hand. I need to go rest for awhile.

Hugs to everyone!:);)
