~~~~~ Coolers in December ~~~~~
Hi Laurie
Just finished High Step Training. What a good tough w/o + a circuit w/o that allows you to still lift heavy. My arms are shaking using the mouse:D
Took DS to hockey practice tonight but only stayed for about 2/3rds of it. The last couple of weeks they have been playing tag and he gets scared. Tonight he was crying plus he just seemed a little off so we left early. I felt bad for him as he had been plyaing in the snow this afternoon and his pants were a little damp and his socks were WET so I'm sure he wasn't comfortable. I think I have to get him new winter boots as I don't remember him ever having wet feet before:eek::confused:
Laurie - did you notice a difference between last week's plyo and this week's? I think week 2 & 3 are easier (if that could even be said in the same sentence as these w/os:p).
Morning Patricia,
Today was KCM's 30MTF Kickboxing #2 (with weighted gloves), and a 3 mile run on the tm.
I think that the plyo work was easier for me, but the weighted part was a bit tougher. :rolleyes: I have to admit that my legs this morning where really sore, and it was a tough 3 miles for me. :D I was glad that I warmed my legs up with the kickboxing first.
Oh your poor DS. Sounds like he didn't have a fun time with that "game". Did the snow melt into his boots? Guess it doesn't hurt to get new ones for him. I know that if the girls snow pants where to short, the snow would get into their boots.
Have a great day!
Morning Laurie
I just got finished taking a small tour of the job site. My legs are sore from my w/o 2 nights ago so it was hard walking with heavy construction boots! I can understand why men are tired from walking in them all day long!
Last night I started the Low-impact timesaver w/o from KickMax. I'd never done it before. I stopped at the about the 20min mark when the leg drills started as I really was wanting a cardio w/o. So I popped in SSex Cardio Core which is only 1/2 hr and did that.
Tonight I have my company party. Its just dinner and social, no dancing so won't be able to work off dinner and drinks:cool:
I must admit I felt like you Laurie last night switching dvds as you always seem to do more than one:D
Have a great weekend.
Morning Patricia,
Disc 30 Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps is finished. I would like to get in a 3 mile run tonight, and it will probably be on the TM since we got some snow last night. The roads are a bit slippery today, so I don't think I will chance it in the dark! :eek: I'm planning on running Sunday, and that will be outdoors in better lighting. :D :D
I really like splitting up my workouts and instructors, it has been making them more interesting. I think I was getting bored with doing a cardio workout for an hour. Doing to 30 min. ones gives me some great combos sometimes. :D I have not yet tried a step followed by kickboxing or running yet. :D Maybe my knee could handle a 30 min. step workout! :D
Have a great time at your party tonight.
Morning Patricia,
I didn't get a run in last night, but I did manage to run this morning. Felt really good even though it was very cold. :D I have Ab Circuit Stability Ball Abs still on the agenda, but that will have to wait until I get home from youngest dance class.
Have a great day!
Hi from Mickeyland! Quickpost as terrible keyboard. Here at the Alice in wonderland internet cafe in DisneyQuest, kids playing games. we were supposed to go to the waterpark but too cold! Hot earlier in the week. Eating way too mucn but doing tons of walking! Tonight boys are going to Tampa for the hockey game and girls are shoppig. Tomorrow back to the parks and home Tuesday.Hope everyone is well
Yikes Kim, your week is almost up. Hope you have an uneventful trip home.
This is the 1st time I've been on the computer since Friday. Just a go go go weekend. Friday's party was good and the pot-luck at my house was fun. Lost $5 at Texas Hold-em:eek: There goes DH's Xmas gift I guess:D
Sat. I did Step Blast and today I got back to AHB - Build #2. I don't think I'll complete this rotation for 4 more weeks. Just not feeling the love. I'll try and finish up this week and start on something next week. Oh I also did It Figures low impact from Season 18 afterwards which was only about 20min.
Laurie - I picked up Jackie Warner's new w/o dvd at Walmart today. I was so surprised to see it there as her 1st one never made it to Canada that I saw.
Hi, Patricia!
Pardon my butting in here, but I saw your name on the thread and just wanted you to see that I finally took your advice and changed my avatar :D. I hope you're doing well.
Morning! :D
This morning was Disc 31 Chest & Back, I'm proud of myself for getting that 90% weight finighed for chest. Yesterday I started a new running program called Gateway to 8K. Not that I'm going to be running an 8k, but this starts you running intervals and then advancing on to running a full 8k. It has podcasts that you can use, so it makes it easier to run for the 7 min. and then walk 1 min. I ran a different route than I usually do, and Cami was waylaid by another dog. Well lets just say that Cami was a great protector, and the owner of the dog called his dog back to his yard.
Kim, Sounds like you are having a great time in Disney, to bad the fun is almost done. ;)
Patricia, You have to let me know how you like that Jackie Warner workout. I have seen the other workouts on ExerciseTV, and they didn't motivate me to much. Good workout though, just couldn't stand her back-up players. :D LOL about the Christmas prestent for DH! :D
Wanted to add: Nancy no problem butting in!
Have a great day!
Hey Nancy - I noticed the new Avatar and JUST LOVE IT!
Laurie - so have you had to use a spotter yet for lifting? The new run program sounds like fun & work. The intervals are probably what's so important. I'm trying to talk DH into a TM. He says he is not a runner and would rather have a stationary bike but I think the TM would get used more. Sounds like Cami is earning her keep:D I completely agree on the background excercisers on her last w/o - I never got the w/o, the reviews about it and watching it being filmed on her t.v. show really turned me off.
Stayed up to 2am to finish reading another book so hopefully I have some enery for my cardio w/o tonight. I really must get back into watching t.v. All this reading is cutting into my sleep:eek::p
Just checking in with my w/o. I did KPC minus the abs tonight. I only have it on VHS and didn't realize that I didn't take Rhythmic Step out of the VCR and when I ejected it it snagged the tape. So I don't think I'll be doing RS again. No sense in replacing it with STS Cardio coming out shortly. I crosssed my fingers it wouldn't eat KPC but all was well.:)
Morning Coolers,
This morning I'm running a bit late, because I had an eye appointment. So now that I'm broke from buying new glasses, I will have to tell the girls that there is going to be no Christmas presents! :eek: My lenses alone cost $250, good thing we put money in our flex pay account. ;)
This morning Cami and I went for a run in the snow and dark! It was actually a very nice run, and I'm hoping that we don't get as much snow as they are saying. I also got in Ab Circuit Stability Ball, and Basic Stretch from TBS.
Patricia, No I have not used a spotter yet. DH was looking at squat racks this morning, so I'm hoping that is what I'm getting for a present so I can start lifting even heavier weights. :D I love my TM. It comes in handy when the weather is not good for running. It is so hard to put a good book down sometimes. ;) Sorry to hear about the RS tape. I probably have that one on VHS, and I would be more than willing to give it up. I am not coordinated enough to enjoy workouts like that. :( Will check tonight to see if where it is. ;)
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers,
Another late morning for me, because we couldn't get out of our driveway. The girls don't have school today. We had about 10 inches of snow when DH and I left. Got in Disc 32 Plyo Legs, and this is another great workout. ;)
Hope everyone is having a great day!
We're back! We left weather of 29C/83 F and arrived to -35c/-31F. Our bodies are in shock!
It's sunny and clear here though. Only a dusting of snow on the ground. I'm hearing lots about the snowstorm hitting eastern Canada/northeast USA. I guess you're getting it Lauire, are you too Patricia??
I have the day off work and the kids are at school. We arrived home late, didn't get to sleep till 2am! Already ran for groceries, mail, started laundry. Need to go do some unpacking and make lunch for the kids. Hopefully will have some time to sit and catch up this afternoon.
Afternoon Coolers
Went to sleep by 8:30 last night so no w/o and today I donated blood so no w/o tonight either:rolleyes: Driving DS to daycare this morning, I started to wonder if the buses were cancelled due to the winter storm we're in the middle of. Never had to worry about that b/4:eek: Schools open but no buses so I've left him at daycare for the day. Its ugly out there so I'm not taking him to hockey tonight either.
Kim - s**cks that you're back I'm sure but glad to hear you're home safe & sound.
Laurie - why is it we let the kids stay home but us adults risk it all to go to work:confused: Hey, have you looked into the lasik surgery? Just love it but I guess it's like buy 10years of glasses all at once!
I guess I won't be getting in any shovemax either tonight due to being able to lift anything heavy for a day or so. DH will have to do all the shovelling tonight:p We do have a snow blower so it shouldn't be too hard on him.
Have a great day.
Sounds like your both snowed under! I'm so glad that we weren't flying back through TO or Minneapolis which we've done in the past. This was the first time that we had direct flights as an airline just started direct flights for the first time. Our famly has many airline horror stories ( I joke that my kids think it's a 36 hour flight to Flordia) so for us to arrive in less than 4 hours was amazing. Great flights both ways. Out of 10 days, only 2 were cool and rainy. Lots of swimming! Spent one day at a waterpark.
Stayed at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort with free dining! Ate at lots of expensive, very neat restaurants (for free!) Used Disney transport the whole time except when the boys went to Tampa. The NHL was the highlight of their trip for them!!
The trip felt so much easier than in the past. We have been many times so know the way around. The kids are older (ages 9, 10. 11. 12). Felt sorry for all those lost people pushing big double strollers. The kids had a blast with their cousins and old enough to spend some time independently. Also because we've been there so often there isn't the pressure to see everything.
Laurie, congrats to your dd for braving the freeway that's got to be scary at first! I need to look at glasses soon but I am considering the Lasix surgery. Have you had it done, Patricia? My sister had it done and is really glad she did.
I'm not sure what I'll do about workouts. Today I'm exhausted, tomorrow I'll be gone from home for at least 12 hours so will wait till Friday. I usually come back from holidays raring to get back into my workouts but just am not this time. I'm supposed to finish the last 3 weeks of Insanity but just dreading it. I'll give it till Friday to decide.
Morning Coolers,
This morning I was not brave enough to run in the below zero with wind chill weather. :eek: So I got in the run on the tm and got in 4 miles. I still would like to get in Ab Circuit Pilates Based Abs after work.
Kim, So glad that you had such a great vacation. Have to love those direct flights. ;) Hope that some workout starts to inspire you, even if it isn't Insanity. :D
Patricia, I have considered lasik, and I have had different doctors tell me different things, so this makes me a little leary. I would probably still have to wear glasses for reading, so I'm not sure that it would be any better for me to opt for lasik. Glad you got some rest, this weather itself makes me tired. :D
Have a great day!
Morning Coolers,
This morning was Disc 33 Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps. Another good workout, and I can't believe that there is only one week left. This is the first time that I have never dreaded doing a strenght workout. P90X in the last phase was super dread. Doing the same strength workouts for 4 weeks in a row was torture, well except for the Jillian workouts. :rolleyes: Probably helped me that I only did the 3-1/2 month rotation also.
Saturday is going to be a busy day for me, so I might not get on until Sunday. My workout for tomorrow is going to be Jillian's BFBM.
Have a great day!
I can't believe that you're almost done STS Laurie, that 3.5 months sure went fast! I think the always new workouts sure keeps you from getting bored. I find the beachbody products (P90X, CLX, Insanity) good workouts but not enough variety that the rotations get difficult to finish.
Has everyone got cleared driveways and roads yet? We still have only a dusting of snow but man, is it cold!!
I have to confess that I haven't worked out since I got home. The trip just seem to tire me right out, 12 hour days at theme parks is a workout in it self:rolleyes: ALso have a bit of a cold. Yesterday after work did a 3 hour round trip drive to get ds from band camp so he could play in his hockey game:rolleyes: The kids were staying overnight and coming home today but he didn't want to miss another hockey game.
I'm thinking of just doing Cathe's Dec. timesaver rotation, as it's short with lots of variety. Maybe I'll do Insanity with you in the spring Laurie.
Looking at the Christmas schedule for the next few weeks is stressing me out. So much to do with family get togethers, recitals, Christmas cards, work parties, baking,etc. Anyone else getting stressed! DH is having some staffing issues at work so will be doing lots of overtime in the next few weeks.
Today I just feel like I need some downtime, to sip my coffee and read a book. Maybe will do a workout later or tomorrow.
Morning Coolers
I had "fun" yesterday evening spending 1hr snow blowing more snow out of the driveway. The foot of the driveway from mid-thigh and all packed ice. :mad: My shoulders are sore today from pushing and holding the snow blower through the wall of ice. So that was my w/o yesterday:rolleyes:
Off to the city after lunch for a department xmas party and back here for another party Sat. night. Sounds like the highway is a mess for part of my driving so not sure if I'll be able to get through today though.
I'm still trying to decide if I finish the week out of AHB - so not looking forward to it I guess but I should atleast try the last 2 workouts. I guess I'll make that decision Sun.
Laurie - So have you had any result's from the STS rotation? Glad to hear you've had no dread factor with this rotation. I must say with any of Cathe's w/o I don't dread them except for how hard some of them are, but from a personality and fun perspective I always enjoy them.
Kim - Yep, had lasik down 1.5years ago. Highly recommend it. I do notice when I'm tired at night and reading the pages seem more blury. Don't know if that is more from "old" age though and a sign of needing bi-focals:eek: That's great you had such a good time and great weather. I agree, there is a certain level of comfort in going back to the same place. I can't believe you couldn't take a direct flight before! The person we rent our Florida condo from lives in Winnipeg so I guess this makes his trips easier too now, epecially hauling wife and 2 little kids with him. Hope you're all rested now.
Not sure when I'll be back on. Most likely Sunday.
