cleaning eating update and questions

I have been eating clean for about 6 weeks now. I have lost 14 lbs and 4.5 inches over all. I posted before that it was going slow. Wow, was I wrong when I actually looked at the numbers. I am even getting compliments on my muscles and that has NEVER happened before. I am very excited. I have even gotten one friend to do it with me and my other friend who is a personal trainer wants to meet and talk about it. She does WW which is usually great but not working for her. I would recommend it to anyone!

Questions:
Is cheese clean? I don't eat it because I thought it wasn't.

The week before TTOM I am ravenous and eat the six clean meals and up my calories. The week after I am not hungry at all so I drop the calories of a meal or skip one completely. Is that OK?

I have backed off on my exercise time to kind of do a reboot to my system. I have been working out pretty hard for an hour a day. Now I am doing the Dec rotation from Cathe which is easy for me. 1800 cal. is working with this rotation. Will I be starving if I go back to intense workouts?

I am traveling for work in April and will be in Miami for 6 days. How do you do it when you are traveling? Any tips? I should be able to have nuts and fruit handy but the supper might be tricky.

I know to listen to my body and that is what I am doing. I just wanted to tap into the knowledge here. Feel free to add any clean eating info you may have.

Thanks everyone!

Definetly not an expert, but...great job on your losses! Looks like you've been doing fabulous!

I believe cheese is clean. I don't usually eat it but I just don't like it that much.

Re Q2: An RD told me "eat when you're hungry, stop when you're full". As long as you are eating healthy don't worry about hunger during TTOM.

If you're starving when you switch rotations up your protein.

Travelling..... Nuts (in moderation) and fruits sound good. Have you tried larabars? They are all natural and delicious. Meals out I always eat grilled chicken salads. I use salsa in place of dressing.

Last of all....Have fun in Miami!

I'm trying to clean up my eating habits too. Can you post an example of what you are eating? Also what is TTOM?

Thank you.

Carmen

Certain cheeses are considered clean. I know feta cheese and goat cheese are in a lot of clean eating omlette recipes. Low fat or non fat cheeses are recommended for cheddar, american, swiss, etc. HTH!!

I have to agree here that it sounds like you're doing the right thing all around! I especially agree with your switching things up, including calories (either by day or by week) and your workout time. Confusing the system does WONDERS!

CONGRATS and keep it up!

TTOM = That time of the month or our lovely periods. It just seems nicer to type TTOM.

Todays meals for example

breakfast - 1/2c oatmeal with water, ground flax seed, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 banana cut up, 1 tbsp bee pollen
snack - 1 cup low fat cottage cheese with 1/2c blueberries
lunch - grilled chicken breast with sweet potato soup (Toscas recipe)
snack - apple with 20 almonds
supper - 5 oz broiled fish with a fresh veggie salad, vinegar and oil for dressing

I eat at 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm and between 6:30-7pm. I workout right after work at 5:30pm

My meals stay between 300-400 calories. I still measure to keep portions controlled. It is too easy to go over for me still. I do have a cheat meal usually on Fridays but I still find myself paying attention so I don't over do it too much. I did a couple of times and I was pretty sick later. It is not worth it anymore. Bonus = I FEEL GREAT!!

Just wanted to congrats on your weight loss. I agree with everyone else it certainly sounds like you are doing everything right. Have a great time in Miami.:)
