Clean Eating

Hi,

I have Tosca's book and just got Monica Brandt's. My question is both of those do not have a lot of dairy and i get that. But, when they say yogurt as a snack which brands do you think are the best? I am looking at some and there is sugar in it. I think sugar is something to try and keep track of in foods we don't realize have it. Is this right?

Hi there,

I recently purchased Tosca's diet book and eat-clean diet cookbook as well. Since 1/1, I've been attempting clean eating, and actually have done better than I thought!

I'm not quoting from Tosca, and I know she can be a bit extreme at times, but I don't worry SO much about the sugar. I don't add sugar to things other than agave nectar. If some natural sugars are in yoghurt, fruit, than so be it. I just looked at my yogurt and it has 15 grams in one whole cup. I usually have just 1/2 cup, so I don't think that's too bad. I also drink one cup of Trader Joe's natural mint cocoa with some sugar as well.

I know clean eating is eating non-processed foods and in their most natural state. I'd much rather eat a little bit of sugar than any artificial sweeteners, that's for sure. I've given up all of those cold turkey. Giving up that diet coke was easier than I thought it'd be!

Good luck in your clean eating venture!
