:::CHEETAHS SATURDAY:::

Cathlete
I am battling some insomnia. I do not like this change we are having at school. I do not like having to lose a good neighbor. Oh well, it is the best for them and I should be happy. They deserve it. It is 2:00 in the morning right now. No, I did not close down the bar. }( Although, I wish I had. I was sleeping for a while and then woke up to go to the bathroom, now I am up. Andy thinks my tree pic is not good because the grass is not cut and there are leaves all over the place, but I love it. I am not so much of a perfecionist as he is.

Cathy: I think you and I would get along perfectly. :) Thank you re: the pics. :)

I think I will turn on the food network or fit tv to help me fall asleep. Have a good night/day ladies! :)

Good morning ladies!

UUUGGGHHH, another super duper quick fly by x( x(. Reader's Digest version....

No workout yesterday (or personals) because one client came to ride in the rain so I had to be there with her

More new, and cuter, kitty pics are up

No workout today because of horse show

No workout tomorrow...same reason

No workout Monday because of appointment and horse show prep

No workout Tues or Wed because of, you guessed it, horse show x(!

Probably won't get back tonight to check in because I'm heading into NYC to have dinner with my mother and a long time "friend" ;) of her's. She's a bit nervous so I understand why she wants a little company to start with lol.

Have a fabulous Saturday everyone!

Gloria ~ that stinks the worries kept you awake. I understand, though--my insomnia works the same. I didn't even notice the grass; the tree was the focal point.

Wendi ~ Suppose you won't see this, but the new pics made me smile. Tommy looks like a pistol, but it's Shelby whose expressions are the funniest, I think. Sorry about having no room for workouts in the next few days. At least the nature of your job will burn plenty of calories. Some consolation, perhaps.

Shelly & Wendy ~ happy 5K'ing! :) :) :) Looking forward to your race report & pics later.

This morning will be boot camp class. Will hobble in :) later to see what everyone's up to.

Enjoy your Saturday!

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Good Morning Ladies.

So I'm here sucking down coffee before I have to get ready for my race this morning. I am looking forward to a short one after my HM a couple of weeks ago. ;) I'm also very excited to be able to see Miss Shelly again. :+

I am noticing a bit o' DOMS in my bod. It's a very light touch but it seems to be just about every where. Could this be from the kettlebells, Sculpt Sweatfest or perhaps the combo of the 2? Whatever it is, I like it. It's not enough to affect my race today either so that's even better.

Speaking of the race...DH has some sick time in his head he thinks I'll finish with. I, on the other hand, have a more reasonable goal. It'll be interesting to see where I actually finish. I haven't run a 5k since Labor Day so ANYTHING is possible at this point. }(

I guess I should get moving. I'd like to be outta here in about 30 minutes and I still have to wake up DH and DS as they are supposed to be coming to cheer me on. :)

BB when I get home!

Later babes!:D

how out of it do i feel?! i REALLY have to catch up on the cheetah goings on. i have ONE MORE WEEK with the kids in school and then two more weeks of work without the kids there. to be honest, it's a little boring but i am getting paid. things will, hopefully, slow down and i will have plenty of time to play on the forums...um, i mean, work. ;-)

so, turns out i tore my ac joint in my shoulder (the joint that attaches the collarbone to the shoulder/arm). i spoke to the doc and he said that i misunderstood and can't do any weight workout or anything that would pull the arm down. i am *supposed* to wear a sling when walking, etc. he said i could do the ext, but with my right arm in a sling or holding onto the side bar. doesn't think that's very fun! doesn't want to wear sling!!!

i want to work out!

GO WENDY AND SHELLY!!!

i am going to attempt to read this week's posts.

hey cheetahs,

wendy- yes, js owes you big time:7 have fun with your race with shelly!!

christine- you paid $100 for js? i got mine from amazon for $49. when are you going to start your TT rotation?

gloria- i like the pics from yesterday. sorry about the insomina. funny when i have insomina i too turn on either foodnetwork or HGTV...;o)

wendi- sorry you have not been able to fit in your workouts the way you want to.

cathy- enjoy your BC class today!

judy- love the new avatar!!!

lorie- ouch, so sorry about the shoulder. hopefully you are on the mend.

today i am trying a new workout, bootcamp from tracey mallet. picked it up on a whim at Ross from $5.00.

have an awesome day gals!!

I did end up falling asleep soon after my post. :) It has been nice to come here and rant a little bit. Thanks Cheetahs!

Wendi: I hope you enjoy a nice dinner in NYC. Sounds like a nice break from the horses! :)

Cathy: That is a cute "good morning" graphic, thanks! That is so cool that you are going to BC class. My friends in Montana knew I worked out so they asked me to give them a workout. A few times a week we would meet in front of my apartment downtown and run to the park. I would then take them through a series of circuits there. It was REALLY fun! I was sore after every time. I would plan my workout the night before using a lot of the things Cathe does.

Wendy/Shelly: GOOD LUCK ON THE 5K!

Lorie: That is not fun you can't work out. I am sorry about that. Listen to the doctor and you will be fine in no time at all!

I am working out today, but not sure what.

Ooh, I accidentally clicked on the Challengers thread at first 'cuz it looks so much like ours today.

Lorie!!!! ~ great to see ya back, WT. How was the GTG with Ms. Catherine?...Yeowch!!! So sorry to hear about your torn AC. That sounds really painful. Now don't mess it up by bein' a hardhead, miss! Let it heal. ;) :7 In the meantime, I'm sendin' major speedy recovery vibes your way.

Sunny ~ I had no idea the JS was $49. Yowzas. Enjoy your new w/out.

Gloria ~ this BC class is quite the gig. $30 pp per class with 20 students. Not too shabby for about 2 hours worth of work. It'd be a great way to supplement a teacher's income, for sure. Glad you were able to get some zzz's last night finally...I have been in venting mode myself lately. Been screwing up the bc pills majorly and I think my hormones are out of whack. http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/animals/th_catroar.gif *lol*

Well, we had another tough class this morning. Good stuff! This trainer is FIERCE, man! She doesn't really give us recovery time, so you have to "steal" a water break now and then. I'm feelin' spent but good. Now to deal with these major hunger pangs! :7

BBL...

Good morning cheetahs

GOOD LUCK Wendy and Shelly!!!!

Gloria...the run with my friend was nice...this has been a long struggle and my friend has been so strong through all of it. We usually don't get these temps til about June or July..Wow, sorry about your friend leaving...I'll keep my fingers crossed for a GREAT replacement! That is a beautiful tree...sorry about your insomnia...maybe you can take a nap later.

Cathy...thanks re my friends Mom. She was glad to have company for the run. I think taking the Sharkies for your 8 miles would be a good idea. Hopefully BC today won't trash you too much!! I also like the way my job is structured, it gives me a lot of freedom. Good job with the Bosu workout yesterday. I have heard those BC trainers are Fierce!!...sound like you had a great workout.

Wendi...you have been quite busy. I know it can be frustrating not being able to workout, but you will get back to it!! Enjoy the dinner at your Mom's.

Lorie...so sorry about your shoulder!! Sending healing vibes...

Sunny...have fun with your new workout.

I am a bit indecisive about what to do workout wise today...Maybe some EXT. Another hot one here today...

Hi Cheetahs!

Just got back from a nice run w/TNT. It was supposed to be an easy 5 miles, but I was feeling pretty good and it was more like a tempo run. I started running w/this older guy (16 time marathoner). It was a hilly trail too. Y-day I picked a hilly route not knowing today was going to be hilly and got in 4.5 miles. Don't think two days in a row of hills would be recommended. lol Also, I have one more P90X weight workout which is L&B. :) I think I'll save it for tomorrow. I'll just do a couple of segments of Flexible Warrior after I scarf down this breakfast.

Good luck Wendy and Shelly!!!

Carole ~ Enjoy the EXT workout!

Cathy ~ Way to go on BC!! Sounds like fun! }( That's exactly how I felt after the run. It's a god thing I brought a Larabar to have for the drive home. We met at a location about 45 minutes away from the house.

Gloria ~ Glad you were able to get some shut eye! I had some major trouble w/insomnia this week. I've had that little boy and his family on my mind a lot. Thurs night I didn't fall asleep until 3:30A. I have to catch up on all the threads, but did see your pix. You look great!

Sunny ~ You girls are lucky you have a Ross near you. You always seem to find great deals. Enjoy your new workout! Let us know what you think.

Lorie ~ Man, that really stinks about your shoulder! How long will it take to recover?

Wendy ~ I like slight DOMS too, because at least you feel like your workout did something, but is doesn't stop the next days workout. Have fun today!

Wendi ~ (((HUGS))) You'll get back to your workouts soon. The kittens are adorable. I love their little paw prints on the tile! :)

I have to read the other threads and catch up, but better get my stretch done first.

I'm back from the race!

It turned out to be a beautiful morning. All sun, no clouds and NO RAIN!:) We got a little lost getting to the race so we were very tight on time. I was on the potty line and it got down to the wire. I thought I'd have to run w/a full bladder but I made it to the start with 2 minutes to spare. PHEW!

It was so awesome to see Miss Shelly again. She looks great and gave a stellar performance considering the kind of week she had with the move and all. I am not going to give you her time as it's not my place but I'm sure she will tell you when she gets online later. :)

I took off from the start slowly but after a minute or 2 my path opened up and I ran like heck! I actually took off TOO fast and was worried I ruined it for myself but I did good. I sped up and slowed down through out the race as I felt it was needed all the while paying close attention to my time. When I crossed the finish line Shelley was there with her wondeful grin cheering me on. It made me smile to see a Cheetah at the finish!

I usually never wait for the results to be posted at the actual race but since Shelly was there we ended up hanging out and talking for a little while so I was able to see my official time before I left.

28:27!!!! That's a 9:07 per min/mile average and a new PR!

I crushed my last time! My last race 5k race was 29:42 and then I PR'd on the TM with 29:23 a few weeks ago and now this time! I'm very pleased! :7 :7 :7 It was a TOUGH run for me but so worth it!}( My Garmin clocked me at 27:45 for 3.1 miles. I started it when I started moving (prior to the start line)and stopped it when it hit 3.1 miles which was, ofcourse, prior to the finish line.

Well, that's my story!

BBIAB!

Carole ~ I may do some yoga later to try to stay loose. I did look at another Target but they also only had the Berry Blast flavor. Maybe Dick's or Sports Authority...When is the funeral for your friend's mom?...What did you wind up doing for your w/out today?...Hope you stay cool. I think you will like the Flair I just sent you. :7

Dallas ~ I can imagine how the worrying would cost you some sleep. Please keep us posted on how that little guy is doing. That is just heartbreaking to hear of someone so young having to fight through it. Hoping for the best. Great job on two back-to-back hilly runs. I wish we lived closer and could train with one another.

Wendy ~ Oh yeah, girl!!! Go on with your bad self! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/happycelebrations/th_respect.gif

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Good Morning Cheetahs!

GO SHELLY AND WENDY!!! HAVE FUN ON YOUR RUN!!! http://www.clipartof.com/images/emoticons/thumbnail2/1984_pompom_cheerleader.gif

Shelly – Too funny, keeping it to one workout because you’re racing. Us mere mortals avoid all workouts. I put together a BC that uses kettlebells instead of standard weights. I did BC x2 yesterday and did both. I’m a little sore today. :p But it was fun! As I stuck to the body part focus it’s easy to do one interval with Cathe and one interval with kettlebells.

Thomasina – Well, wine trumps all!! You HAVE to have points for wine! http://www.clipartof.com/gallery/emoticons/alcohol.html Guilt free only goes so far. I need to tighten the reins again! :p Although we had some pretty fine CABS – Silver Oak and Caymus. It doesn’t get much better. YUM! Stay cool! Another hot one today! http://www.clipartof.com/images/emoticons/thumbnail2/1222_hot_and_sweating_smiley.gif I really want the Jump Snap as I can see a great fit with the interval training I’m doing and I’d kill the dogs with a regular jump rope, but still…

Carole – Hope the weather is nicer to us today! But it’s already hot. I was out with the dogs at 7AM and it was 75 already. It’s going to be close to 100 again. Amazing. I’ll be glad when this heat wave passes. I’m so happy your DH fixed the cooler!

Gloria – I’m sorry to hear about your principal. It’s tough when the leadership leaves as everything is in turmoil for months! I hope the new one is just as good! Beautiful tree! Thanks for the pic! I think it’s pretty and didn’t notice that the grass was not cut or there were leaves around! Too funny. Hope you get some sleep!!

Wendi – Enjoy your day! Good luck on the horse show today! Fingers are crossed for some good placing! Have fun in NYC with your mom and her “friend”. Hope you get a moment or two to breath in the next week!!

Cathy – That’s funny about the Challengers thread, because I about did the same thing today! Your class sounds like a blast! I love those kinds of classes. I used to take one at my gym before they were the “in” thing. It was called “Sports Conditioning” and it killed me every time! I love your flowers all signing “Good Morning” How adorable!! I was thinking of you and the huge grading pile you had to do when DD15 was complaining that her history teacher hadn’t updated the grades since April 10th. That would be a challenge!!

Wendy – Your DOMS definitely could be from the kettlebells – they work you very differently than traditional weights. Hope it doesn’t affect your run. GO WENDY CHEETAH GO!!

Lorie – Thanks for checking in!! So sorry you’re injured and have to wear a sling! Oh that’s a pain! Literally and otherwise. Glad to hear school is almost out!
Sunny – I paid $100 because I got the anti-shock mats with it. I need them desperately for I workout on a concrete floor in the garage and it’s starting to wear on me. I got two packs thinking I can put them on either side of my step and take some of the shock off of high impact step workouts. I start my TT rotation on Monday! I was going to start tomorrow, but it fits into my schedule better this way. I’m excited! I’m doing the TT Big 5 for Fat Loss. I realized that my Simply Interval is perfect for Interval B. On Monday, I’ll get out my Gymboss and ride my bike.

Dallas – Sounds like you had a great run this morning! What was it like running with a 16 time marathoner? I’m so weird, it would be like running with a rock star to me! :p I think postponing L&B until tomorrow is a good idea if you plan to walk at all tomorrow. :p

Ahh, Wendy posted an update as I was about to post this – YAY!!! Glad it was a beautiful morning! Glad you were able to go potty! Those lines are crazy, aren’t they? WAY TO GO ON THE PR!!! I’ll bet Miss Shelly took 1st place again… :p I’m so happy for you! Hey – can I order only P90X + Total Body?

Today has to be a Spinervals. My ankles are bothering me from doing so much high impact on the concrete. I want to be gentle to them today. We had a good time last night. The restaurant was great. I’m ready for a quiet evening at home today, though. Another scorcher, but it’s supposed to start to get cooler. Errand day today. Grocery shopping, making Kimo’s food, getting my nails done… I do get a pedicure today. YEAH! Have a great day all!!

Sorry Christine, they don't offer the X+ vids separately. :-(

If you aren't sure you want the whole set and want to try the set before you buy it I will be happy to mail it out to you for a bit! Up to you but the offer is out there.

Okay, I'm back for personals. DS is watching cartoons right next to me and I think DH is sleeping on the couch. :7

Gloria: I'm sorry about your insomnia. Alot of us battle that at times. It's not fun. I hope it's only temporary for you. I see you able to get back to sleep last night so that's good and atleast it happened on the weekend so perhaps you could sleep in a bit. That's a plus. The tree is gorgeous. What a nice view to have. :)

Wendi: Hope you have a nice dinner tonight. Sorry you are so busy these days. It'll be over soon though and I know you'll get through it. You are one tough chic!

Lorie: (((HUGS))) Please make sure you listen to your doc. Don't mess with an injury like that girl! You can pick up with NROL once you are healed and be thankful you can do SOME kind of cardio atleast. After all, you ARE a self-admitted cardio junkie, right? ;)

Sunny: When we got home from the race this morning Afterburn was waiting for me. I'm sooo excited to start reading it now!!!!! How do you like it so far? Apparently it includes an eating and supplementation plan. Are you following that too?

Cathy: Thanks for the PR kudos. Hooray for another kick-arse bc class! How often are they offered? Will you be doing this again? }(

Carole: Sorry about the really hot weather. Hope it cools off a bit for ya soon. So what work out did you decide on? Anything fun going on this weekend? How's your DH feeling?

Dallas: YAY for the last work out in P90X! Good job on completing it! Is this your first round of it? Don't forget to post your stats for us when you get a chance!:) So did your 16 time marathoner friend give you any good advice?

Christine: Thanks re the PR. We left right before they were about to announce the winners for the race. Had we known it was going to happen 2 mins later we would have waited. Shelly said she THOUGHT she would place 2nd in her age group based on what she saw in the results. I guess we'll find out soon enough. :)Sorry about your sore ankles. Enjoy spinervals.

I ran 4 miles and didn't pay attention to the time. :) I am feeling good!

Cathy: $30 a class? Wow, that is expensive, but sounds well worth it. I would pay that. I love bootcamp style workouts. It is that time of year when everyone is cranky. Even the kids are bickering with each other and there have been fights on the playground.

Carole: As of right now I can manage without a nap. I have chores to do today. The emotional strength some have amazes me sometimes.

Dallas: It seems there have been a lot of people on the forums suffering lately. I am sorry you couldn't sleep well this week. Sometimes my mind will not shut down.

Wendy: Congratulations on your PR. That is fabulous! The tree has been the topic of a lot of conversations at school lately. It sure is something. I had one of my kids who is PIA outside raking yesterday around it. I needed to get him out of my hair, but be able to see him well because he is sneeky and I am not sure what he has up his sleeve at times.

Christine: My DH and I are first borns, and he is also an art minor. He is a detail person, which I am not. He is the one who decorates our house. I am glad you had a nice evening last night. I am running errands today too. I also have to check a boat load of papers. I cannot wait until I have checked the last paper of the year. I have been having the kids check their own assignments if it is multiple choice, fill in the blank, etc. It takes the pile down a bit. I do have to look them over though to make sure they aren't cheating.

BBL!

>Just wanna quickly say, Wendy: thanks for the PM! :*
>MWAH!

Don't mention it girl! You can say it was "Cheetah instinct"!;)

Hello wonderful cheetahs! Not sitting in the library today:7 :7 :7
Back on line in the comfort of my own home (well, my in-law's home technically)

Got to meet up with our Wendy again today!! Can't tell you how much it meant seeing a friendly familiar face here in this strange and wonderful place called New Jersey. Met her DH also (good looking guy!) and her absolutely ADORABLE DS-Joey... what a cutiepie!:*

I ended up racing alot better then I thought I would. I have only gotten in two runs since my mega move experience and the legs still felt a little leaden and overstressed. I was anticipating finishing around 26-27 minutes but I came in a tad over 25 minutes, pacing just a little over an 8 min/mile. Being an old lady that was good enough for second place in my A.G. I guess they didn't have much of a budget tho for this race cuz they only gave awards to the first place finishers.... I got bupkissx( Oh well! had a very fun time tho and that's what counts! A nice beginning to my new life as an eastern cheetah. It was a very pretty course... nicely shaded!

Got time for some personals!!
Posh- That was SOME fly by post! (LOL) Sending you some nice rain vibes your way! So you are meeting up with Carole soon for a 5k?? Awesome- she's FANTASTIC to run with!!

Carole- 107 degrees????? And it's only Mid May! We have the windows open right now and I'm enjoying the cool sea breeze right now (neener neener) woohoo, another double cheetah 5k!! (you and posh). You'll have a blast!

Gloria- Sorry to hear that your principal is leaving... she sounded like a real asset. Crossing my fingers that the new one will work out okay for you but you are right in sticking together! LOVE your pics!!! You must be feeling pretty draggy today after a sleepless nite poor baby! I think that is incredible that you managed a 4 mile run today!

Cathy- So it is a Saturday bootcamp and then a Sunday long run????? You are going to be in awesome shape there cheetahgirl!

Wendi- Hey busy gal! Hope your show went well today. Wendy and I were talking about you today at the 5k... we were hoping you will be able to make it down to run the Sheehan Classic in Red Bank with us in June... it's a beautiful course and will be a cinch for ya.... I think I'll be lucky tho if I can stay in your dust trail!

Wendy- Congrats again for an AWESOME PR performance. I LOVED being at the finish and watching a fellow cheetah make a triumphant finish.

Lorie- Great to hear from you... but sorry to hear that you are dealing with an injury--- at least it's upper body, won't keep you from the cardio anyway.

Sunny- Hiya! How was the new bootcamp dvd?

Dallas- Very impressive hilly run for you today!!! You're becoming one TOUGH cheetah.

Christine- That kettleball BC workout sounds awesome.... and you did it TWICE????? I'm truly in awe!

Expecting MIL and FIL to come over for yet another visit (their third already!) Not complaining really... they are both as sweet as can be... just excited that their first born son is back home!

I plan on a circuit later today... not sure what yet.

ShellyC

Christine ~ oh, I would love to be taking this class with fellow cheetahs. Had to shudder over DD15's teacher's grading pile. I feel his pain. *lol* It feels WONDERFUL not to have any to deal with this weekend. I did not order that Gymboss yet. I was wondering if I can get my Garmin to do what it does...? I need to revisit the site and take a closer look.

Wendy ~ the outdoor boot camp is offered 2-3x a year. I probably will take it again, depending upon what time of year it is offered.

Gloria ~ sometimes it's great, isn't it, to leave the gadgets at home and just be one with your run.
http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/exercise/th_yoga.gif :7

IA that it is kinda steep, but I do think it's worth it. I love getting out there in the fresh air and suffering through it with other people. May look into the instructor's k'box class, too. Your DH sounds like such an interesting, well-rounded guy...Ha, I'm laughing because the test I gave on Friday was M/C only -- *NO* open-ended...hallelujah!! *lol*

Shelly ~ glad your inaugural race as an Eastern Cheetah was such a speedy one! ^^^ 5's on the 2nd place finish...There are only 2 more weeks of BC, so it shouldn't be too bad. Work is just too busy right now to make a long run on a weekday plausible.

Carole ~ Dick's didn't carry Sharkies, so I bought some Clif Bloks (strawberry) and figured I'd try one. What is Sunny's expression---PUKE STATUS? Uh, yeah. *lol* So, I'll bring the Berry Blast with me tomorrow.

*fixed a grammatical typo*
