Cathlete
Good morning, cheetahs :) ~ happy Saturday!

Not sure WHAT I'm gonna do today...run or k'box or maybe even a circuit workout???...but I'll follow it up with the Bar Method. Yesterday was a bit of an indulgence eating-wise (two meals out!), so I'd better try to reign it in today.

By the way, other than amazon, does anyone know of a website where workout DVDs are reviewed? TIA!

Gayle, Laurie, or Thomsina :: sorry to ask this again, but I haven't heard back ~ are any of you interested in TWO cheetah shirts? I still need one more shirt to make it six so I can place the order. UNLESS, Shelley wants to order one... Shelley, they are wicking shirts and will cost about $32 each for the shirt & shipping.

Elaine :: I'm heading to the post office first thing to mail your shirt ~ sorry, the week was too hectic to get there sooner.

Have a great day ladies! I'll be writing two papers today and will be chained to this thing, so I'll be poppin' in and out.
Cathy :)

Good mornin'

cathy- so you too up are early on a sat. morning...ARGHHHH. come back and let us know which workout you decided to do:) . another website you can check is www.collagevideo.com. they have reviews on workouts.

today's workout will be a 30 min. runerval and P90x chest and back. i have a client at the gym for an hr this morning and then i have my first at home client later on. afterwards i am getting my hair and eyebrows done today ( so i am hoping to take a pic wearing my cheetah shirt) and then me and dh are going out to dinner and a movie....wooohoooo!!!

christine- those are my same thoughts also.

karen- thanks. you made my day!

shelly- 12 was definitely a record and made for an interesting day. what a cool way to celebrate bringing in your 50th bday. you are a true inspiration to me.

shelley- come join us anytime. you will love it here! i am also an inexperienced runner.

thomasina- i see we share the same bday month!!

carole- so how was your birthday yesterday?

kristi- sounds like a plan. just let me know as the time gets closer. i live in winston salem.

have a great, great day ladies!
Enjoy your workouts}(

Good morning cheetahs! I'm at work, waiting eagerly to get home to bed ;-) Today will be a rest day for me..... sort of. (It's always sort of with me!) I'll probably do an ab routine and stretching when I wake up later.

Cathy- I second the notion of SunnyD to check out collagevideo. They have excellent reviews. Overdid it with the bloomin onion? I thought you mentioned the outback but maybe I'm mistaken. Anyway, nothing that a good kickbox routine can't cure! You should try Wendys kickbox mishmosh! Have a great weekend and hope you catch up on your endless paperwork!

Wendy- Loved, loved, loved your KB, upperbody weight mish mosh. Lots of fun and the time really passed quickly despite changing DVDs.
THANKS!

SunnyD- A busy day as usual for you. A home client? That should be an interesting change. I hope you do post a pic!!! Have a great time on your "date" with your DH!

Elaine- Glad to hear your subbing EXT workouts for your runs for a bit! I don't know about you but I work up more of a sweat on my EXT than on my runs!

Shelley (allwildgirl) I love to read your posts on the Open Forum
and I wish I had half of your wit and charm. It would be great if you could post here as well!!! Love your name too ;-)

That's all I have time for now:( Hi to all the cheetahs who follow!

ShellyC

Shelly C- Happy Sleepy thoughts coming your way. I'll send the sandman right over,

Sunny- Enjoy your day of beauty. I can't wait to see a pic.

Hey Sunny! Yeah, I'm always up fairly early ~ even on weekends. The only time I can sleep past 7 is if I'm on vacation. Enjoy your w/out & getting your hair & eyebrows done! Thanks ~ I have ordered from Collage before and have seen their reviews & forums. I like that site, too.

Shelly :: enjoy your "rest" day!...yes, I went to Outback - and believe it or not, no bloomin' onion!...I *wanted* to order one, but no one else did. *lol* I ordered the 7 oz. Victoria's Filet with blue cheese crust and a side of fries (I usually get the baked potato or garlic mash but I was craving fries, for some reason - I didn't eat them all & probably won't get them there again)...thank you ~ I *believe* I am going to be caught up (finally!) after this weekend.

Coming back to the talk of a cheetah GTG, what about doing a spa getaway somewhere out west like Phoenix?

Karen--have a good rest day. I'm thinking along those lines, too -- that I want to be able to do that long run tomorrow. It's a long day for me after that.

Cathy--spa? Hmm...that sounds fun...I think there is a Canyon Ranch in AZ, but I'll shut up because I don't know my calendar, schedule, etc. and shouldn't have much of a say...

I thought we were doing ot Elaine's house?

Now I'm dressed for work and procrastinating leaving for work..

Geez..

Good Morning Lovley Cheetahs:) We're heading up to Ottawa today for Faith's school's cheerleading competition. It's about a 2 hour drive and we'll meet up with some relatives there. Should be a good day. I had a nice date with Miss Faith last night, she loves spicy food so we went out for Indian food.:9 Her cold is getting better but she's got the Rudolph thing going on and I'm sure tissue stocks have gone up in the past few days:+ Today I'm going to try Judy's SS/PP upperbody mishmosh and a short cardio. I'm still eating well and people are starting to notice the weight coming off, so motivating! :)

Cathy, I think I'm good with one tee thanks. Sorry to say that I didn't receive your e-mail I checked here and my personal account. My hotmail is [email protected]. I read your post about the ski trip yesterday and felt for you. I agree with everyone here, we just lose ourselves (and often our manners) when we're in the midst of a new romance. I would feel put out as well. I was going to suggest videofitness as well. That's how I found Cathe! It's quite an impressive site. Enjoy your k-box or circuit. HSTA kicked my butt this week}(

Sunny, that's awesome that you can have in home clients. Nice to cut out the middle man. Your day sounds like a good one, hair and eyebrows and a date with DH, should be a great evening.

Shelly, hope your snoozing as I write this :) Enjoy your rest day!

Barb, thanks for the event list, what a busy Cheetah pack. I feel like a total slacker:+ I'll share the upperbody burn with you later today}(

Karen, enjoy your rest day. Your event is getting close...March 25, ahhhh the promise of spring.

I'm outta here....enjoy your Saturday, send Faith your cheeriest cheering vibes please and thanks:D

Take Care
Laurie

Good morning!

Cathy-I’ll take one shirt! Thanks for doing this a second time for us! The thought of a spa getaway in the warm, awesome SUN sounds great right now! LOL

SunnyD-enjoy your pampering and time with DH. What movie are you going to see???

Shelly-I have to agree on that KB/UB mish mosh. It was good enough for DOMS still today (I did it Thursday)!!!

Barb-change the 5K you have for me in March to a 10 miler! I figured it would be a great way to get my long run in that weekend! It’s March 3rd!

Karen-what mileage are you up to for your long run this weekend??? Enjoy the rest!

Laurie-have a nice, safe day today on your trip. Have fun with the kb/ub mish mosh! It's a keeper!

As for me…..today my training schedule called for an easy 4 mile run. I was planning that and then upper body weights. BUT…..I got running and felt so good that I decided to just go 2 more miles and get in this week’s long run of 6 miles (we’re on a bit of a taper week before we pick up the mileage again this week). Sometimes I like getting the long run in on a spur of the moment like this. Now it’s done and I’m thinking Monday (when I normally do my long runs) will be Drill Max or Cardio Fusion or something fun like that.

BBL, kids are again bugging for the PC! GEESH! Lol

Gayle

Hey Ladies.

No time for personals at the moment. I slept in and now have to get ready to head to upstate ny for the family party we are attending today but I just wanted to pop in first.

No class last night. x( I ended up running short on time and would have been too rushed. It wasn't worth it. If they charge me this month then so be it. Somethings just aren't worth going crazy over, ya know?

For anyone else who is interested...like Cathy!;) Here's the k/b mish mosh I had made up a while ago that I gave to Gayle, Laurie and Shelly....

kpc warm up
kpc kicking and punching drills
c&w weight seg 1
ck intensity drills
c&w weight seg 2
km blasts 1-5, 6-10, or if you really wanna die-do 'em all!}( LOL
c&w weight seg 3
ctx kickbox cardio thru the power lunges
c&w weight seg 4
c&w abs and stretch

Have fun!:+

Oh, and one more thing which I must do...

WELCOME TO THE CHEETAHS, SHELLEY!:+ :+ :+

We don't care if you are training for a half or can only run for 5 minutes before you need a walking break...if you run at all you are a cheetah! Now get your buns back here and play with us girl!:D

BTW, I had no idea you were traning for a half! You go girl!

I have my sights set on running a half as well. Originally I thought I would train to do one in the fall but I am thinking of pushing it back a bit farther...I WILL do one though!}(

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...K.boxing sounds fun today...I think I will do it too. I think Collage is good for reviews too and they have good prices. A spa GTG sounds fun...:)

Sunny...sounds like a busy day for you. Have fun with P90X. My B-Day was fun yesterday. Had a great party at work...and although I am not much of a sweet eater, one of the hairdressers Mom's made this carrot cake...well she is one awesome cook so yes, I did indulge!

Shelly...enjoy your rest day. Yes it is always "sort of" for you...:)

Barb...good job on upper body today.

Karen...have a good rest day...how long will your run be tomorrow?

Laurie...good job with that upper body dryer. I will send Faith good cheerleading vibes...:)

Gayle...that is a nice feeling when you can run longer than you planned...:)

Wendy...thanks for posting your k'boxing mish mosh. Have fun at the party tonight.

Elaine...I take a B-complex for a few B's besides B-12...:)

I am doing KPC, and some of my own legwork.

I'll go catch up on yesterdays posts...

some more.....

Linda...thanks, I did have a very nice B-day.

Karen...thanks for the lovely B-day song...:)

Susan...Mexican food is on the list for the family dinner tomorrow night! Enjoy your massage. The weather was great yesterday, we got up to 74.

Shelly...thanks, yesterdays workout was good and not too tough!

Wendy...not sure about the movie tonight, we will wait and see.

Laura..thank you for the nice compliment.

Cathy...the work party yesterday was fun. The hairdressers I work with are a great group.

Jess...thanks, I had a great day...sorry about Kiersten's ear infection!

Tomasina....hope your massage was good. I had a nice B-day and will let you know about the date...:)

hey Shelley????..where are you????......:)

Morning girls!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, I'm training for a half, but here's the kicker. I don't know WHICH half because I can't find one near me that's on a date I can do!!!! How frustrating is that?

Anyway, this morning I did a five mile interval run on the treadmill (my DD likes to call it "Treddy":p). I did it using Imax 2! I did my warm-up and then ran the step portions at my regular speed (6.0 mph) and during the blasts I ran at 6.5 mph. It was a lot of fun. One question. Is that fast enough for an interval or should I try to go a little faster during the sprints?

I won't do personals until I know y'all a bit better but I hope everyone has a fabulous Saturday:)

HI Cheetahs!

Welcome Shelly! I like to have an Imax DVD on for running intervals too! As far as how fast to set the speed on the intervals, I play around with it and try to push hard enough to feel as though I can almost not finish.

Wendy your mish-mosh looks challenging. How hard is it on a single disk player?

Jes- Your home needs to be well again!

Carole- Have a really nice dinner date; it is tonight isn't it?

Elaine- do you equate the distance readout on the EXT to distance run? I have often wondered...

I ended up cleaning to procrastinate working out y'day and it helped. At 11:30 I went downstairs and did IMAX3. It had bee a while for me and it felt really good. Plus I wore my Polar 6 for the first time and it was fun to see my HR at the end of every interval and how it really didn't go down much from interval 6 to the end! I'm thinking I am ready to do it on 8 inches. Running has really helped my endurance this past year!

Today is B&G OR DM cardio leg blast

Hi Barb (our race monitor), ShellyC, Kristi, Cathy (our organizer), Thomasinna, Mattea, Carole, Gayle, Laurie, Marcia, Susan, and Sunny!

Judy "Likes2bfit"

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

G'morning Cheetahs!!! I AM a Cheetah again, I ran 3 miles today! And.... NO knee pain!!! I didn't push it, just kept it between 6.2-6.5 mph and decided to just do a steady run. I really wanted to do intervals (when I do intervals, I go from 7 - 8.5mph usually) though because I hate the steady pace on the treadmill!! Oh well, I was also blowing my nose & coughing so I think it's helping get rid of the *sinus sludge*. Yuck!! Then I swam for about 20 min, my energy just isn't back up yet. It felt good to get back in the pool again though!

The weather's getting worse, I wouldn't have made it even out of my subdivision but the snow plow went by at 6:50! Yeah! ;-) It's still coming down & blowing all over. And, Greg just left to go look at new TV's!! Since ours died a couple weeks ago we've been pricing them & seeing what's out there. It looks like a nice day to stay in & be cozy by the fire! I'm going to make a pot of chili & get to work sorting through toys around here. Too much stuff that they don't play with!

Kiersten's feeling much better today. Her ear is still draining (yuck) but no fever so that's good.

OK, must get to work around here or I'll stay in this chair too long! I finished my coffee so it's time to get busy!

Shelley ~ Welcome to our check in!! I'm glad you decided we were cool enough to join! ;-) Good luck training for your first half. I love the half distance. I did my first half in Sept '05, and did another one last August along w/ my first marathon in Sept '06. I'm hoping for a half marathon in May if my knee (IT band) will allow me. And I'm doing my first triathalon in June. I'm psyched about it!

Good Morning Lovely Cheetah Babes!

WELCOME Shelley!! That workout sounds like a blast! Now I wish I had a treadmill at home! (or a portable DVD player to take to the gym!). I think it's wonderful that you're training for a half- you'll figure out which one soon enough. You can always plan a vacation around one, too, if you'd like to travel a bit.

*Raises hand and jumps up and down* I'm IN! I'm IN!!! A SPA GTG? I'm soooo in! And Arizona would be a great place! I miss the desert.

Cathy - I like both collagevideo.com and videofitness.com. Collage has personal reviews, VF has more reviews from fitness instructors as well- they both give a good idea of the video. Order from Collage, though (VF doesn’t sell videos) because they have a great return policy.

Sunny- A Client at home- eh? WOW!! You are certainly taking off! I picture you in a sunny-yellow cape with a big “S” on it “SUPER PERSONAL TRAINER”!!!

Shelly - You just crack me up! I think when I finally meet you, I’ll be exhausted just trying to keep up with you! Enjoy your “sort of” rest day!

Barb- enjoy your rest day! Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on the races! Have fun at work.

Karen - enjoy your rest day and your long run tomorrow!!

Laurie- Oooh, Indian Food… I was putting the menu together for this week this morning, read your post, and added a nice Indian meal for DH to cook as he’s leaving again! :+ Glad you had a lot of fun! I love going out with my DD’s one-on-one. It’s so special. I’m cheering on Faith for her competition!

Gayle - I so agree with you! There are times when schedules be darned - you just want to run - and if you want to run- do it. Glad you enjoyed it!

Wendy - I think you’re trying to kill us with that workout! Of course, I have it on my rotation for next week! LOL. Have fun at the family party!

Carole - glad your birthday was happy! Sounds like you had a nice time! Enjoy your KB workout!

Judy- Imax 3 on 8”?!? Amazing! I’ve done HCE #2 (the LM/Imax3 combo) on an 8” and found some of the parts very challenging- but then again, that’s what it’s all about isn’t it? Enjoy your workout!

Jess - YEAH! Glad to see you running pain-free again! I’m also glad that Kiersten is feeling better!

DH got home yesterday and we went to lunch at Mac Grill (had the create-your-own pasta- whole wheat penne with spinach, red peppers and mushrooms and a bit of chicken- it was really good). Then I got to leave early, and came home and we hung around until the Tennis match - which was also very fun. There was only one other couple in the skybox with us, and they were fun, so it was a good time. I cannot believe DH was so coherent after that flight, but he was wide awake until about 10, then he started getting sleepy. Andy Roddick is such a cutie!!

Well, it’s an absolutely gorgeous day here - temps in the mid sixties, sunny, no breeze... when DH gets up I’m thinking it’s time to start hiking again. I want to take the dogs and just get out there. If he’s not up to it, I’ll take them myself. Then it’s grocery shopping and the other stuff we typically do on the weekends… Enjoy everyone!

Hey, guys! I only have a quick minute to say HI again.

Judy-I did that mish mosh the other day on a 1-disc player and it was actually fine! Didn't waste a lot of time, so you'll be fine!

Welcome, SHELLEY! I can't wait to hear what half you finally decide to do! Good for you! As for intervals, I agree with Judy to play around with it. I've done interval runs just like you, using the IMaxes. I've also done it using Boot Camp and I'd hop off the TM to do the core segments. Try that. That's fun too!

OK...we're heading out to go snow tubing at a local park. I made a batch of Potato Broccoli soup and it is YUUUUUMO!

BBL

Gayle

Good morning ladies,

It is a beautiful sunny day here today and it is supposed to get to 75 degress,WOOHOO!!!! We are going to go on a family picnic at the park.

I survived Chevy's without going to overboard with the eating. I still have about 2lbs to lose though until I am back to where I want to be. I will do the Butts and Gutts leg blast today and then 30 minutes ont eh elliptical.

Cathy, sounds like you have had some good social outings with yummy food. Enjoy your workout today and I hope you get some playtime in as well as grading all those papers:)

Sunnydelite, are you going to a clients home? That is what I ended up doing for 6 years is just going to peoples houses and training one on one. It was so much nicer than being at the gym and I get paid so much more. Sounds like you are definitley in demand:)

Shelly, I thought a rest day for you would be just an hour on the elliptical and no running}( Enjoy your stretching. Do you do yoga?

Barb, did you end up getting an ellipical? Did someone mention a spa in Arizona. OHHHHHHH, I am so there.

Karen, enjoy your rest day. How long is your run tomorrow?

Laurie, have fun at the cheerleading competition. Indian food, YUM!!! That is so great about your weight loss. It is such a confidence builder.

Gayle, great treadmill run! I am dreading the day that my kids want to use the computer. They are happy with their leap frog for now:)

Wendy, that is quite a mish mosh. Have fun at the party today.

CArole, Yes, I am LOVING this weather. We are soooo lucky to be in California. It looks like a lot of the cheetahs are doing kickboxing today. I have not tried that since I hurt my back....hm I hope you enjoy your dinner out. I love the chips and salsa.

Shelley, welcome to cheetahland. That is great that you are training for a half. I was getting into the longer runs and totally messed up my back for 4 months. It is finally on the mend after 2 months of physical therapy and massage therapy. I added too many miles too soon. So, be careful and don't do too much too soon. For interval runs, I would do 6.0 for 3 minutes and then 6.8 for 2 minutes or 7 for 2 minutes. It really gets rid of the boredom and kicks the heartrate up.

Judy, enjoy your leg workout. I have the polar f6 and the polar f4 and I like the f4 better. I thought it was so much easier to set up and read. The f6 was more expensive and think it gets better reviews though.

Jess, that is great that you have no knee pain. I am next for no pain while running. I am really making sure that I am 100% before I give it another go. Glad Kiersten is feeling better.

Christine, glad your hubby is back. I love Macaronni grill, but my hubby hates it, so we don't go very often. Sounds like you had a great time at the tennis match.

Gayle, potato broccoli soup sounds yummy!!!!

Marcia, you have to try those muffins. They are soooooo good! I love the chocolate ones. you can also get them at whole foods if you have one near by.

Well, ladies the kids are wanting mommy's attention. So, I am off to play polly pockets and a my little pony with them.

have a great day friends!

Susan
