Cathlete
Good morning Cheetah babes!

Well, this morning's plan *was* a run but I just couldn't get up early enough with enough energy to pull it off. I'm starting to think there's something wrong with me. I shouldn't be *this* tired. I was so exhausted that I actually fell asleep for about an hour and a half at the barn yesterday afternoon. Not good:(. Got home, did some horse show paperwork and then collapsed into bed. Couldn't even come up with the energy to post personals...sorry! I've got to get myself out of this funk:mad:!

Okay, enough whining. Good news (at least I hope so)...the new girl starts today so hopefully that will lighten my load at least a leetle bit and I might be able to get my morning workouts back into the schedule.

Gotta refill the java (where's the IV when you need it:confused:?) and will be back with last night's personals. BBIAM.

Good morning, everyone!

Judy :: Oh my gosh, YES--I did see the I-80 crash on the news. Thank God your brother walked away from that. I was surprised to hear most of the injuries were minor. Was he hurt at all?

Wendi :: Maybe you are down about MK (or something else)? Emotional stress can take a lot out of you physically. I know it's frustrating, but sometimes you just really need to give in to what your body needs, even if it's not mentally what you feel like doing. How about treating yourself to a massage?

...I'm glad to hear you are getting some help on the job. You surely deserve a lightened workload. My fingers are crossed that this person lasts!

Today will be an u/b circuit.

Have a great day!

Cathy - WOOOOOHOOOO!!!! WTG on your run yesterday! I hope you're feeling as accomplished as I am *for* you. I wonder if the increased calorie experiment had anything to do with it? I couldn't wait to get home and read your blog...you crack me up lady! You are truly inspiring, you know that, right? Crossing my figners for ya that you don't end up with any to nail issues:(. MK came home yesterday and we'll more than likely be heading over to her house with her horse today sometime. You're far too sweet...just gotta keep going. Had to lol about getting a massage...would love to and have been trying to for the past 6 months. Don't have time to squeeze it into the schedule. Heck, I still have to finish my taxes :eek:...filed extensions.

Wendy - Wow, *no* DOMS is amazing! Did you guys have a good time on the boardwalk?

Lorie - Sorry about your friend crossing over to the dark side:(. That's got to be tough on ya. Glad to hear that Jasper is improving!

Carole - Ooooh, nothing like produce right from the garden...YUMMY!!! Glad you had a great run yesterday! Are you still liking the Brook's? I LOVE em and am thinking I'm going to stock up on them cuz it always seems that, as soon as I find something I like, they stop making it and then I have to search high and low for an alternative:mad:. I certainly do NOT want that to happen with those sneaks!

Karen - Yeah, I can't blame you for not being too thrilled with the toy hunt last night...not nice circumstances:(. Wow, want to come tackle MY basement:confused:;)? Just kidding...wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy LOL! Mmmmmm, pizza! Now why did you have to go and say the word "pizza":p;)?

Gloria - Sorry about the nasty drive to the wedding:(. Wish you could send some of that our way...we're getting kind of desperate around here. Oh yeah, the work is all year round. Sometimes we head to Palm Beach from Jan through Apr for the winter show circuit (not as fun as it sounds....loooooooong, hard work days) sometimes we stay home and move the horses to a facility with an indoor ring. It all depends on what the clients want to do, and how much $$$$$ they're willing to pay;).

Shelly - Glad you had a great time at the neighbor's! Happy to hear you're finding some great running routes! How far are you going today? Ooooh, the much talked about Fairmont Park...now I have to *seriously* consider doing it:p. You're too cute but I think I'll be the one workin to keep up. Aqua and chocolate? Did they get their inspiration from BM2?

Christine - Can't blame you one bit for begging out of the shower. Great job with your workout yesterday, Ms. Lance....you gals had me chuckling last night. Ooooh, that veggie pasta sounds delish!

Linda - Try to shake off yesterday's run...that just happens sometimes:(. It sounds like you've got a good idea of what went wrong so I'm sure it won't happen again. You just had an off day...that's all. You're going to kill it next week, I know it!!

Judy - OMG!!! Soooo, glad that DB is uninjured! I can't even imagine how frightening that must have been. Sounds like someone was definitely looking out for him.

Uh oh, starting to run late. Gotta scram. Have a wonderful day ladies!

Hey, massage comes before taxes, babe. Where are your priorities? :) I know we are going to need to drive up there, kidnap you from the job, and report to the nearest spa!

Thank you on the long run & blog compliments. I do think the extra calories (and the Advil) made the difference. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense...how can you restrict calories when you're pushing your body to go farther than it has ever gone before? So, I'm going to zigzag a bit for the remaining weeks of training. I'll go for A's Monday-Thursday, up it some the two days before the long run, and then the long run day is more or less a "free" day...Little bit of tenderness on one of the big toenails, but no bruising, so I think I'm in the clear.

Put that new girl to work today and give yourself a snooze on the concrete! ;) :)

Happy Monday.

Lori: LOL shunner girl! You crack me up. So what kind of work out did you end up doing yesterday? How was the sanctuary meeting?

Carole: I am anal about getting A's too but there are some days it just ain't gonna happen! LOL Like today. We have our final night of bowling later and I HAVE to have my 2 beers while I'm there so hello Mr. F!:p So if alcohol slows down the metabolism, how come it makes ya so darned hungry!? So once you've met your weightloss goals will you buy a 6 pack to celebrate? ;)

Karen: Running in the heat can be tough, ITA. I also think that running in the cold is hard too. The cold seems to slow me down MORE then the heat does though. It's wierd. Well, actually I guess I'm wierd! :p Your half is the day before my 18 miler! Lots of races going on that weekend! :)

Gloria: No CABS at the wedding??? Why not girl? Were you feeling okay? :D

Shelly: How nice that you are becoming so friendly with your neighbors so quickly. So how's the new paint job? I've been crackin' up at the descriptions of the color schemes in that house! I swear some people are color blind! So have ya registered for the race yet??? :)

Christine: I don't blame you for bailin' on the shower if you were going to have to go alone. I wouldn't want to go either. So what's on tap for today's work out?

Wendi: Sorry you are feeling so exhausted lately. I hope you perk up soon. Hopefully this new girl will work out and allow you a bit of a break. Tonight is our final night at bowling. Wish us luck that we don't totally BLOW IT like we did last week!

Cathy: You did good on your run. Knew you would.

Linda: Sorry your run was not good. We all have those days. It will get better hon. You'll be FINE!!!!:)

Judy: OMG, I'm soooo happy your brother is okay! Someone was looking out for him! PHEW! No, I didn't see it on the news. I only watch the news a few mornings during the week. I can't handle much more then that. Too darned depressing. :( Glad you had an enjoyable weekend at the wedding.

Going to the gym for a run this morning.

Later.

Monday reality

Hi ladies :)

Normally I ma all about Monday mornings and getting back on track. but today is starting outwith some glitches. Crosby lost a chipmunk in the house this morning. DS21 and I tried to find it and it has vanished. grrrrr!:(

Then I sat down with my coffee and computer. upon opening my email, I read that our trainer will no longer be working at our club. I have two prepaid session left for DS! One of them is at 10:30 this morning! At 8:00 i am calling him to see if he plans on training Sam at his own gym. Also, this is the great spin instructor, and now that I got hooked on the class (especially with resting my foot), it is canceled at our club. grrrrrrrrr!

Wendi- I do wonder if your :(stress is contributing to your physical exhaustion like Cathy mentioned. perhaps a 30" workout only ? I sincerely hope you can leave this line of work.

Cathy- I have not checkd out your blog, Is it here on Cathe? Way to go on you long run:D:D:D:D:D! yes we are quite thankful that DBrother is alive. His car is of course totaled(?sp?). And if the bus hit him any lower on the drivers side he would not have been quite as fortunate. :(

Wendy- A couple of beers is worth an F. My eating choice was was in the F category all weekend. I did pack fruit, V8 juices and water and greek yogurt for the road, but for the most part I was powerless as to choices. Portion control became the strategy. It could have been worse.

Well, as I mentioned to Wendy, eating healthy was tough this weekend, but for a wedding, it was worth it. Plus we danced like crazy. I am known as 'Aunt- Judy- who -spends -the -whole - reception -on- the- dance- floor.' And my sisters and sister in laws and daugheters do too! DH will join in most of the time. I figure, if they are going to pay for a DJ, we may as well make it worth their money! We even got my 86 year old Dad out for 'We Are Family' He was too cute!

Any way it is back to Sparkpeople this morning and a workout strategy of some sort. Then major cleaning, laundry and a solution for Sam's trainning session.

TaTa friends!

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Cathy – hope you’re feeling just as fine this morning! Your blog is wonderful! I so enjoyed reading it. Great job with the nutrition program! Mmmm, Pumpkin Pie! YUM! Thanks for the support on bagging the shower!

Linda – not sure which is worse, a baby or a wedding shower! Glad I’m not the only one!! :p I totally believe that you have to fuel runs and I’ll believe that the reason you did not run well is because you were not properly fueled. I hope your tummy feels better so you can eat well this week! Oooh, you just got an iPhone? I love mine, mostly! It’s a computer so sometimes it drives me batty, but over all, I love it.

Judy – OMG! I’m so glad to hear that your DB is okay!! How scary! I’m so happy he managed to walk away. Glad the wedding was nice. Sounds like you are having a typical lovely Monday morning! A chippie lost in the house – oh joy! I’m also sorry to hear that you are losing your spin teacher. I have some Spinervals I can send you…

Wendi – wow, sweetie, I hope you’re feeling better. I would not be surprised if you were simply overworked and overstressed from everything going on in your life - and your body needs a rest. I so hope that the new girl helps out a lot and gives you some break. I don’t know how you do it, girl! I’m impressed.

Wendy – Enjoy your run this morning! How’s your golden doing? Is he getting less itchy?

Carole – what did you think of the Closing Ceremony? DD15 and I were watching it and kept looking at each other like, “WTF?” Maybe it was my frame of mind, but it looked as if Dr. Suess hit the LSD a little too hard. The opening ceremony was incredible, but I was not as impressed with the closing.

I stupidly set my alarm for 4:30PM instead of 4:30AM! Man, I haven’t done that in a long time! Fortunately, I woke up at 4:.45AM, so I was still pretty much on time, but it still makes me wonder what kind of day is in store for me. Today is TT for amazing lower abs, and Zoot Challenge. I’m also riding to work today. Have a great day all!

Good morning. Today was a 3 mile easy run and some abs thrown in for good measure. It is so humid here today I'm dripping with sweat. A cool front is coming my way just in time for my long tempo and long run Wed and Friday. Yeah!!!!

Wendi- I sure hope this employee works out for you. You sound like you need the help with the work load. Being run down really can get to you so I"m hoping with a new girl you will feel like yourself once again.

Cathy- Enjoy your UB workout today. My issue is with blisters. I suppose if I ran a longer distances I would get the dreaded toenail but for now my blisters keep band aid and vaseline in business.

Wendy- Enjoy your run. When is yours and dh 5k. I can't wait for the match up.

Judy- Gald you had fun at the wedding. Sounds like you have a lot to do today.

Carole- I know your on your way to posting soon so just wanted to give you a hello. Enjoy your planned workout.

Christine- Don't you just hate when you set the alarm wrong. Likely your body clock knew what to do. Glad you were not to far behind. Enjoy your ride in to work.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..re the disk damage. I think it depends on the severity of the damage whether you can reverse it or not. Your Chiro should know. I also like those guys in Tropic Thunder, so I will have to see it eventually. I think CBS will be showing Season 2 of Dex this year and not 3 yet as they just started with Season 1 last time it was on. Showtime is a season ahead. Yeah that is weird about how the recipes show all the ingredients when you use one. I wonder if they will ever fix that? And I never figured out how to add a 'Custom" food to the recipe? Glad you got to enjoy some pie after that killer run! Enjoy your ub circuit today.

Wendi...I agree with Cathy about the emotional stress taking a toll on you. That is so true. Hope the new girl works out well. I am still liking the Brooks, I run in them most of the time. I have had that same thing with shoes I like becoming discontinued.

Wendy...that is the double edged sword about alcohol, it slows down the metabolism and makes you pick the WRONG food choices!!! Nope, no 6 pack for me when I get to my goal, not sure what I will do except smile...:). Enjoy your run today.

Christine...Nice to see the men's Volleyball team get gold yesterday too. After the tragedy about the coaches family. I did not watch ALL of the Opening ceremonies, just parts but I am LMAO at your Suess on LSD comment!!! At one point when the guys started running back up on that tower (towards the end) I turned to DH and said "they looks like ants", it was just too bizarre. I did like the big bus though...:).I hate those shower games too...I can see why you did not want to go when your friend got sick. Glad you got up not too late. Enjoy your workout and ride to work.

Judy..how scary about your DB!! I am glad to hear he is okay. Hope you find the chipmunk.

Karen...good job getting the basement cleaned up. You were right, I was typing as you posted! Hi back to you..:)..How nice you will be getting a cold front for your next runs!

Linda...sorry you had a bad run. I know for me I always take a sports drink along the way for longer runs. I use sharkies or sport beans instead of gels as gels are just too sweet. Don't be worried about next week, you know just what to do now! So did you have a lb of DC peanut M&M's yesterday...:)

Today I am doing GS BSB, P90X+ Abs/Core and a 4-5 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning!

Wendi – Oh my! It sounds like you are really wiped out! I am glad you will have some help from the new girl. I hope she works out well, for you! If you continue to feel so exhausted, you may want to call your doc and have some bloodwork done. Hope you feel better!

Cathy – Enjoy your upper body circuit!! How are you feeling after your 18 yesterday?

Judy – Oh my goodness! I am so glad your DB is okay! Thank God! That is really scary. Sorry about your trainer leaving and your class cancelling!

Wendy – Thanks so much for the encouragement and vote of confidence! Enjoy the gym and run!

Christine – Oh dear! I have done that with my alarm a few times! :( Enjoy Zoot! With my iPhone, I got my AOL account ….but when I Google and bring up Cathe’s site….or anything, for that matter, is soooo tiny! How is a person supposed to do anything with it? I guess I need to study up on it more!

Karen – Good job on the run and abs! We are supposed to get some relief from the heat and humidity, too. But I am a little skeptical! I hope we get some good storms!! :)
Carole – LOL…no, I didn’t have my DC M&M”s…but on my lunch hour, I think I am going to go get me some! !! Enjoy your run and GS! I like Sports Beans, too. I can do the AccelGel….but that is all that I have had success with, as far as gels. The Shot Bloks definitely did not sit well! I truly needed to drink Gatorade before I left to run…and take it with me. I haven definitely learned my lesson! Funny thing to me is, that when I take a Power Bar with me and eat half after around 7 miles, I do really well. That seems strange that my stomach handles that okay.???

Hey to everyone that stops in today…and that doesn’t!!! :)

I am planning on resting today.

Linda

Cheetahs rock

Good morning to the fit and fabulous cheetahs. Getting in some pretty awesome runs lately! What a group:eek: I finished a 12 miler this morning on some VERY picturesque Pennsylvania country roads. Plenty of hills too but not as bad as what I dealt with in Az. Gonna get ready soon to head out and get the cars registered. Also later I'll be going for my job interview. Not really very worried at all that I won't be offered a position. I'm quite sure I will be. The question is will they offer me enough money? If not, I'll go to Hagerstown, MD, but I'd really rather work there. We'll see.

Christine- Forgot to congratulate you on an awesme long bike ride the other day. I don't blame you a bit for opting out of the shower yest. I can't get into those much
myself.

Carole- great run for you yesterday... excellent job in that heat!! I wouldn't mind the traffic at all on my road here but there just isnt any shoulder room and the road is
very winding too... a recipe for distaster! I'll stick with the side roads.

Cathy- Congratulations on a good strong 18 miler!!! WTG. I'll definitely check out your blog entry. The roads here are indeed right out of a picturebook!! I'll try to take some pics next week. So does the Cytomax agree with you? I'm just starting to take that with me again on the long runs now that I'm getting over 10 miles.

Karen- Those elite marathoners at the Olympics are indeed beyond awesome. I can't even manage the speed they are going for one second much less more then 2 hrs!!
Great job on getting that basement squared away... that's quite a task! My aqua colored library is now linen white. I'm afraid I like my room walls just in shades of off white.Pretty boring I know. Great jo on your muggy run this morning!

Linda- Ah, a true soul sister cheetah.... conked out by 9pm. The strange thing is... I work nights! I manage this just fine but on my nights off it's an early bedtime for me!
So sorry you had a bad long run yesterday.. Happens to us all. I like the philosophy that even the "bad" runs are valuable in that we really learn alot from them.

Judy- Glad your family wedding trip went well. OMG- that was a scary incident for your DB!!!! I didn't catch it on the news... rarely watch the local news. Very glad he wasn't injured but definitely a heartstopping scare! So you have a chipmunk lurking in the house somewhere now? Bummer about losing your trainer!!

Wendi- There's nothing really wrong with you girl except for being OVERWORKED..... HELLO????? (giving you a friendly knock on the head) Fabulous news that you're getting more help tho.... I bet with the lightened workload your energy level will soon be back to norm. LOL about the colors from BM2--- You're right!!! I knew I'd seen that color combo somewhere! The aqua in my library tho is much more intense, believe me! It took a primer coat and 2 regular coats to cover it.

Wendy- Did you have nice time at the boardwalk yday? I printed out the registration form for the LBI race and will be mailing it out this week. Have a great TM run at the gym!

That's it for now.... tata!

Shelley - Great job on your 12 miler! I agree with your philosophy on the bad runs! I like that thought! That is right! I forgot that you worked nights! I hope you get the pay that you want, where you want! Enjoy your day!

Shelly :: here's hoping they make the deal sweet for you, so you're through with commuting!...Love the Cytomax. Thanks again for that recommendation. I only have the one tub, so I'm thinkin' it might be nice to get another flavor. :) ITA with your views on the bad runs--and they help you appreciate the good and the great ones even more, don't they?

Linda :: I feel great! Previously, I was taking my rest day the day after the long run, but taking it before has worked out even better. I've found I feel absolutely fine the day after. How about you? I have not tried the Power Bars. Do you recommend a certain one? I did buy two more containers of the dark-chocolate covered almonds I've gotten myself hooked on. Couldn't resist them on sale. :) Enjoy your rest day.

Carole :: I'll have to ask her. Sometimes bringing things up w/ her backfires on me. *lol*...I didn't realize CBS was a season behind. Oh no!...It would be nice to see it listed simply as 1 serving of recipe X. I believe you can add a custom food to a recipe. Will verify how it's done and get back with you on that. Have a great workout.

Karen :: I hope that cold front is coming just a little ways north, too. Makes us happy runners. :) Do your blisters hurt? I tend to get one on my second toe, but it's not the painful kind.

Christine :: thanks re: the blog. :) I feel great. I think I may have figured out the formula that works for me. *lol* about the Dr. Seuss comment. Hope the rest of your Monday is tame after the alarm incident. Good thing your internal clock was on.

Judy :: Whoo, what a scare for DB and all of you...Smiling at the image of Aunt-Judy-who-spends-the-whole-reception-on-the-dance-floor. Sounds like you & the family had a blast while burnin' major cals out there...Oh no, that's too bad that your trainer is moving on. I hope you can figure out a solution. AND find that chipmunk! The kitties need to go on the hunt for ya...Yes, my blog is on this site. If you look in the upper right corner of any of my posts, you can click on the link to it.

Wendy :: thanks for the vote of confidence. Enjoy your run.

Wendi :: A spa intervention is forthcoming!!! :)

Carole :: When you create the recipe, you can then go up to custom foods menu and click on whatever it is you're adding. A box will pop up so you can select the existing recipe you want to add it to. Hope that makes sense.

Cathy - I have been resting the day before and after a long run. I feel good today, though. So maybe I should do something tonight! I like the Peanut Butter Power Bars the best. But.....the dark chocolate almonds sound even better! ;) Is the Cytomax a drink? Where to you find it?

Linda- Enjoy your rest day. I called my rest day yesterday somewhat active. Bending up and down trying to get things on the shelves in the basement makes for a workout. I should have taken before and after pictures. The girls parted with quite a few things I didn't think they would. I did manange to get rid of two bags of stuffed animals without to much knowlege from them.:D

Shelly- Great job on the run this morning. Hills are what I need right now but don't have too many around my way. I hope your interview goes well however if you must come to Md we would love to have you. I hope they " Show you the money"

Cathy- My blisters are on the right foot third toe. The worst part is that when mom took me for my pedicure they cut off the dead skin and when I ran it filled right back up on soft skin. I'm just letting the thick skin build up now. It looks bad but feel better.

Linda :: I will have to check them out. I saw them at Target recently and was tempted to try one, but so often those things taste like cardboard. :) I have the Cytomax powder (cool citrus flavor). I bought a tub online because I had trouble finding it locally. But I believe I did see some later--I wanna say at REI, but I'm not certain.

Karen :: I usually get French pedis through spring/summer, but I've stopped for the reason you mentioned. My feet are taking too much of a beating right now.

Good Afternoon.

I did ITread 6/90 minutes this morning. Tough one but it's exactly what I needed.

Judy: I can have a difficult time with portion control around super yummy/unclean foods. I surely would have failed miserably if I were in your situation this weekend. :p I hope that trainer either gives Sam the sessions he owes him or gives you your money back for them if he can't do them. Sorry you are losing the spin class. Is there another instructor who will teach the class that you can try?

Christine: Clyde is doing just fine. His skin cleared up like magic! In a matter of less then 24 hours he was like new or close! Now you'd never even know what had happened to him! I still have tons more meds to give him but he is doing just fine. :) Sorry about the alarm clock snafu. I've done that! LOL Hope you enjoyed your TT work out. Getting psyched for your trip out to Chicago in October?

Karen: Oh gosh, nothin' worse to run in the HUMIDITY!!!! YUCKO! Sorry you had to endure it this morning during your run. Dh and I are running our 5k on Labor Day. The race is 8:30 in the morning! He's not even usually awake at that time on weekends! I have no idea how he's going to do this! LOL He went with me to this race last year but there is a big difference between being the driver/spectator and a participant! Poor guy isn't gonna know what hit him!:p:D

Carole: I just used the Recipe option of the Nutrtion program over the weekend. I was surprised too when it came up as all separate ingredients. That seems pretty silly. I thought it would total everything up for you and post it as one food. I guess it doesn't matter since you are still saving time by only having to input the ingredients ONCE. Oh well. Perhaps they will fix that one of these days. If not, you could try requesting it. :) A smile is a GREAT thing to do once you've reached your goal. I'll drink to that! ;) :D

Linda: I hope you enjoy your rest day today. YVW for the encouragement/vote of confidence. Glad I could help. :)

Shelly: I hope this job offers you enough money. Nice run this morning! Yeah, the boardwalk was fun yesterday. Ofcourse I ate a big ol' greasy cheesburger and french fries for dinner while I was there. I also had 3 glasses of beer! DOH!

Cathy: I read your post on the Cabbers thread about your breaking down and trying Ang's "mouth wash". So what did you mix it with? What made ya cave? :) I drank it with sprite and it was really good. The bottle suggests lemonade. I'll have to try that before I run out of it. Any plans for the Labor Day weekend? BBQ's or anything?

I think I'm all caught up. Super sorry if I missed someone. It was an accident/oversight.

Wendy :: good job with the iTread. Power to you to be able to stay on the DM for 90 minutes...It wasn't really a breakdown. I have had no desire whatsoever to consume, but Ange asked me if I'd tried it, and I didn't want to seem ungracious. It was so kind of her to bring that for us. I figured one couldn't hurt on a long run day when I'm burnin' mega-calories. It was a refreshing post-long run treat. I mixed with Sprite as well...I am going to a BBQ on Sunday. You?

Gloria :: if you happen to come by, please check your PMs re: Chitown! :)
