::::CHEETAH::::Tuesday

Good early morning Cheetahs!

Getting this started today - as I just finished Cathe's Basic Step and abs workout. I love the abs workout by the way on this DVD! I was up at 4:30AM!

Another long workday today - 11 hours with the kids. Great cash! It keeps me going!

I pray for the hurricane victims today. Those poor people in Mexico!

Sorry so short, but I am off to get ready for work. I will catch up tonight!

Everyone enjoy their days and workouts!

Take care,
Amy :)

Good morning Amy! Another long day with the kids. Enjoy the day and the extra money. I wish I had the willpower to get up at 4:30. I barely make it out of bed at 6. :)

Today is cardio for me. Of course running is my cardio of choice. I might do my new itrain which works the legs too, itread n tush set 19. I'm not feeling like I am getting enough of a leg workout with my P90X classic. Did anyone else feel that way? Maybe it is because I'm subbing the P90X cardio with running instead.

Well, I need to get some work done. I will check back later. Waves to all cheetahs!

Good Morning Cheetah Babes!

I am feeling pretty DOMS free this morning. That's a good thing for my legs but I am hoping some will set in up top later on!}( I have a run on tap for this morning. Not sure if I'll go it alone or bring Grace with me but either way I will get it done!}(

Amy: Nice job on the waaaay early AM work out girl! You are better than I! I think I worked ONE TIME before 7am in my life and NEVER did it again. I was doing a short and simple Firm work out and almost killed myself. LOL :p

Kristi: Starting in phase 2 I added in extra leg work to the X. I quickly realized once I added it in that the program does NOT concentrate on legs at all. I don't mind though cause I found it VERY easy to add it in. I kept an extra leg work out in my routine for phases 2 and 3 and when I hit it again in January I will do that from day 1.

So does anyone know where Cathy has run off to??

Gonna go refill the coffee cup and give others a chance to post. I'll be back a bit later girls!

Good morning!

Wendy-look at you...all fancy with the different colors! LOL Enjoy your run...with or without Grace.

Kristi-let me know how you like tread n tush...I bought it, but my TM's down so I haven't had a chance to try it out!

Amy-good EARLY morning to you! Once school starts again (in 2 weeks), I'll be up at that time in the AM also.

I was wondering where Cathy was also!

My workout this morning (which is DONE, btw) was: LIC cardio premix, LIC bonus ALl Blast premix, LIC abs, S&H Chest. Feeling GOOOOOOOD and those DOMS will set in the chest soon!

Since I got the extra bedroom finished yesterday and most of the furniture moved in up there, I don't really have any projects today. OH, the shame! I may just have to FIND something to work on! LOL Think I'll be taking the boys for school clothes, too.

BBL

Good morning cheetahs

Amy..good job squeezing in a workout this morning.

Kristi...I bet it is tough juggling workouts and kids! You are doing great...:)..yes, I always added another leg workout of Cathe's during a P90X week. And as I got great results with my upper body, my lower body was another story.

Wendy..I wonder if Cathy started school this week? Enjoy your run today. I might shop like you as I always want to find things on sale and hate spending full price...

Gayle...sounds like a killer workout today!

Elaine...have you ever read anything about Chi running? As it is supposed to help prevent injuries. Guess what? I started having some pain in my right heel last week, nothing bad but it did get a lot more sore after sundays run but not during the run. Not sure if it is the beginning of Plantar or not so I was doing a bit of research on it. I read an interesting post on the RW forum, if you are interested here is the link: http://forums.runnersworld.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/678106477/m/7211049323 The one poster Milspec_run had 2 interesting links about barefoot running to strengthen the foot and some stretches for PF. I was even looking into an exercise bike if this turns out to be PF and I can't run.

Shelly...yes, this is my strength week. If you read my post to Elaine, I am having some pain in my heel and hoping it is not PF so I am backing off running a bit for now. My sister is also thinking about the LV half. She wants to get away...even if I turn out injured I will still go to LV...:)...wow, Kbxing and EXT!...

Jackie...I bet you were tired after the run! Good job with MM and hope your legs feel better today.

Laurie...way to go on the 15's for overhead presses. I use mostly 13.5 but try 15 now and then. So how was Mr Hockey? I read your Post on the OF and sweetie you are by far not stupid. I don't imagine it is in anyway fun to go thru what you are. I think you got some good responses and you will continue on the right road...:)

I am planning on PLB standing and 40 min on my EXT.

Have a great day...

Hey, Carole...sorry to hear about the heal pain. That's what you get for laughing during the speaker on the RT! LOL Just kidding, of course, because I feel your pain. My heal has been hurting a bit also, some days worse than others. I invested in a good pair of sandals for the summer, and I've not got new running and aerobics sneaks (expensive all around, but so worth it). I've been freezing bottled water and massaging my foot with it at night time. It feels WONDERFUL and makes for a much better morning!

Gayle

Quickie for me today...16 yo Marley has an appointment with an ear/nose/throat Dr. this a.m. Her tonsils still give her grief and we're hoping they will take them out. I did a BodyPump workout this morning, feeling strong! I'm taking 13 yo Faith to get her hair done today, pink tips! She's so excited (I love having Girls!!). Then it's my massage.....

Carole, Mr. Hockey was BUILT like a brick$h!t house (professionally speaking of course;))!!! I worked up a sweat and surprised him by getting his hips and low back moving better. Thanks for your kind words and thoughts.

Wendy, glad the DOMS has left the building:)

Gotta git, chat later Cheetahs!

Take Care
Laurie

Gayle...yep, it musta been the laughing...:)...well look at it this way, maybe next RT I can raise my hand again with one more injury!!! I am looking into these shoes by Nike called Nike Free as it is like running barefoot. I have been massaging with a rolling pin and icing 3 times a day. I need a golf ball as that is better to massage with. I did also purchase new running shoes and Rykas about 4-6 weeks ago. It sucks when you are doing all the right things and still get injured!...

ETA..good luck going Vegetarian for 30 days. I have been for over 3 years.

Laurie....ahhh...those muscular men just do something to me...:)...I hope Faith enjoys her new pink tips! I do believe I still have my tonsils....but it is much better to have them out when you are younger like Marley.

Good morning Cheetah Women!

Laurie - Glad you and Marley found dresses for the wedding. Glad the massage went well yesterday with the athlete? Bet he will be coming back for more.

Kristi - Glad you had a great weekend. Enjoy your run. I didn't feel like I got enough leg work with P90X either. Guess Tony thought his cardio and the one leg workout was enough for the legs.

Wendy - Yes, I'm having 3 day DOMS. MM did a job on my upper and lower body. Glad you survived HSTA and you're feeling DOMS free this morning. Enjoy your run. Wonder where Cathy and Sunny are. Strange not seeing them post.

Laura - Hope you had fun with the family over the weekend.

Amy - Long work days for you girl! You should be exhausted. Glad you were able to get up so early and get a workout in. Will you be able to get a run in this week?

Gayle - Nice workout. Any word on your interview or did I miss it? Have fun shopping.

Carole - Hope the heel is ok. Hate all the little aches and pains when all we want to do is be healthy. I slept well last night too. Guess my body needed a little more recovery time. Glad I had a break in there from running yesterday. Legs are still sore today thanks to MM. I'm sure they'll be better tomorrow. Enjoy your workout today.

I did iTread #7 40 minutes and ran until I got 4 miles. This one has some hills and speed increases but no sprints. Finished up with Stretch Max #3. Think the run helped to work out some kinks this morning.

Hello to everyone else.

Enjoy your day ladies!

Jackie

Hey, Jackie....I GOT THE JOB! I start the first day of school with the kids! EXCITED! Thanks for asking!

Gayle

Hi All you Cheetah Ladies!

I'm back from New York, NY. And I'm exhausted! Conference was really good, but y'all on the East Coast get up too early!!! I was up at 5:30 AM EDT - which is 2:30AM MY TIME!! ICK!!! Got in a 2:30AM and was up a 7:00AM - just cannot sleep later. It was a very social flight on the way back. Ended up hanging out in the bar with a bunch of people as the plane was delayed. Then my seatmates on the plane where as goofy and travel happy (think being in a car for hours and how slap-happy you get - yeah, that was the three of us) and we talked for a long time, until we all got so tired and slept.

The VP of sales went running in Central Park, and I'm kind of bummed I did not get to do that, but it will be a run today followed by some leg work.

Good morning cheetahs!
Gayle- I was going to ask you about the job.... congratulations!!!!!
Have fun with the Back to School shopping.... I guess it will be for you as well as your boys now! Great LIC/S&H mix today.

ShellyC

Hello to all the wonderful cheetahs this fine Tuesday morning! I passed out at 9pm last night and slept like a rock! A bit groggy this morning but a good run should cure that. I'll be doing a 5-6 mile interval run. A mile at 10krace pace with a 3 minute recovery in between.

Amy- I gotta admire your determination there! Up at 0430 before a long day of work with the kids! You'll be ready for your bed tonight for sure!

Jackie- I had a great time dirtbiking yesterday. DH took a little fall. Did a turn that was a little too tight on a terrain with loose rocks, basically he just "laid the bike down". No harm to him or his Harley though:) I'm proud to say that I have yet to take any kind of fall, came close a few times but I have pretty good balance and recovery skills. I definitely am getting better at it!
Great job with your iTread today.... impressive to do this so soon after your race:eek:

Kristi- When it comes to making time for workouts versus time for your kids I say the kids win hands down everytime.... and this from a confirmed CBCer (childless by choice). Your kids are lucky to have you for a mom.

Wendy- I like your colorful post today! Glad your legs have recovered. I think I'll be giving them a dose of B&G leg blast today myself! I've been curious about what's happened to Cathy myself.

Carole- You've caught this problem with the heel pain soon and you're doing the right thing so my guess is it will be short lived.
Your sister will be doing the LV half? Awesome!!!!! I'd be thrilled to meet her.... is she like you in personality? I checked out that link you posted for Elaine on the PF.... interesting! It does seem like it's one of the more stubborn injuries to deal with.
I'm glad you posted about the Chi running also. I have the book and try to practice the technique but now that I'm getting into the serious long mileage again I'm going to really concentrate more on using this regularly.

Laurie- Great job on Mr. Hockey! I bet he'll become a regular.
Good luck with the ENT visit for Marley today. Sounds like a T&A
would be a good option.

Time to get on movin cheetahgals! After my interval run today I'll be going for some leg DOMS with B&G leg blast premix. If I have time I'll be doing a upperbody premix from SS.

ShellyC

Good morning Cheetahs!

I have another class that starts today so my workout will be short and simple, ~30 min cardio and PUB. Next week when my kids are in school I'll be able to settle into a new routine and crank it up a bit.

Carole, Thanks! I'll take a look at the link you provided. When my PF was coming on it felt like a bruise when I ran on it and that's what I thought it was. I really think that it would not have gotten so bad if I had taken better care of myself. After CIM my diet was terrible and I gained about 8 lbs. Plus my calves were tight, tight, tight. I pushed myself through a couple too many runs and the PF got bad. It sounds like you are addressing it right away though. I'm hoping that it's not PF and that you will be fine. Did I ever mention that I got a great deal on an exercise bike from craigslist? It is a LifeCycle recumbant bike in perfect condition that would have cost $2400 new but I got it for $325! The quad burn I would get when I first started using it had me realizing that there were some muscles that had been pretty much going untouched!

Gayle, Congrats on the job! That's just great!!!

Shelly, What's this about the LV 1/2? I'm still taking care of my foot like it's a small baby but a girl can dream, right?

Wendy, OK. What workout did you do hoping that it will give you upper body DOMS?

Amy, Have fun teaching your kids today. What is it you are teaching them?

Christine, Welcome home! I'm still in training mode with Rex. He had an accident on the floor this morning. It happened so quickly that I didn't notice it until he was done!

Jackie, Have an awesome day.

Hello to anybody I missed.

Talk to you all later.

Christine- I can't believe you're able to go for a run after your overnighter trip to NYC! My body wouldn't know if it's coming or going.... kudos to you!

Elaine- I'll be doing my second marathon... Las Vegas Dec 2. A few cheetahs have mentioned the possibility of joining me there as there is also a half marathon. Hey, its Las Vegas!!! Great place for any GTG!!! Even if you're not in shape to run or walk a half why don't you meet us just to get away? Sounds like Carole and her sister will be there. You keep on babying your foot.... it WILL heal!!!!!

Hi Cheetah Babes[b/]

Elaine- nice to read your posts here again. I am sorry about the PF giving you a slow recovery. I have been in your place and it is super frustrating.

Carole- Lets hope you can minimize your Plantar Fasciitis symptoms before they worsen. May I give you an experienced opinion here ? I am skeptical of running in any shoe without support or barefoot if you are already experiencing symptoms of inflammation.

The best action you can take is to stretch like mad. I mean your CALVES, HAMSTRINGS and BACK. Seriously, I stretched my calves 10 times per day by dropping my heel off a off a stair.

Massaging and icing your plantar Fascia like crazy is also essential.

If you can get by without running until your symptoms subside, it will help you too. I did buy a semi recumbent bike and used it as my cardio exclusively for 6 weeks and stopped playing tennis too.

One more thing, you might want to try out some inserts for your shoes. I like the ones at Feet Fleet and also a product called Powerstep. You can do a Google search for Powerstep and find their website.

Ibuprofin will help with inflamation and pain also.

Hi Wendy and Laurie and Jackie and Kristi and Marcia :)

Christine- How did you like NY? I will be visiting DD there this weekend and am bringing my 16 yo DD along too. We are planning on a shopping and dinning delight!

Shelly- Are you caught up on your sleep?

Yesterday was a nice 7 mile run and today was ME. I was hopingo get in some walking or EXT, but there are chores around here. DS gets his wisdom teeth out this afternoon and I will be making him some chicken soup. We are finally having a real rainy day, so everyone here is up for some home made soup. ( I'll make some vegetarian type soup for myself)

Judy "Likes2bfit"

Hi Ladies!

ITread 5/60 mins is DONE!}(

Carole: Hope you enjoyed PLB and the EXT today. I am not *always* a bargain shopper. TRUST ME, I know how to pay full price unfortunately!}( In this particular instance though I do not want to spend a lot of money. We don't plan to stay in this house forever and I would hate to spend boku bucks on a kitchen set and then move and find it doesn't work in our new home. If it's cheap then I won't feel bad tossing it!;) The one we have now I got on sale at Target or something for like $99.00!!!! It was a steal!

Laurie: Have fun with your girls today.

Jackie: OMG I almost forgot about Sunny. She hasn't been around much at all lately. She must be really busy with the new jobs! I'm sure Cathy just got super busy too.

Christine: Welcome back!

Shelly: Hope you can get the u/b work in today! Have fun with B&G Leg Blast!}(

Elaine: I did HSTA and that is a kickin' u/b work out for me! I do feel it in my arms a bit now. Yeay!:)

Hi Judy!!!!

Well, I finished iTread n Tush Set 19. Awesome workout! This is the first time I have tried iTrain and I am very impressed. I bought one more iTread a few months ago, set 11 40 minutes, per Wendy’s recommendation. Maybe I will get a chance to do this one Thursday. We will have to wait and see.

Oh I forgot to mention earlier, DH & I might be getting another dog. We already have an 8 year old cocker spaniel, Sadie, whom is a major part of our family. Last night we were looking at a Cincinnati animal rescue shelter online and there is a 5 year old Brittany spaniel there named Chelsea. DH emailed them to see if she is still there and available. She would be a nice addition to our family and they say she loves kids. My DS would love to have another, bigger dog. Also, she would be a really good running partner for me since Sadie would rather be a couch potato and chase the rabbits in our back yard. In a way I hope she is not there any longer because the pictures that were taken had snow on the ground. I would hate that she had been in a shelter for so long without someone to love her.

Wendy – Thanks for sharing what you did for your P90X rotation. I’m going to try to find time to add in more leg work.

Cathy & SunnyD – I miss seeing you around here. Hope all is going well.

Gayle – Congrats again on your new job! That is awesome that you will be able to be off when the kids are off school. Great workout this morning and on finishing painting the spare bedroom.

Carole – It is challenging to fit in workouts on the weekends when the kids want to spend every moment with me. During the week, it’s not so hard because I workout during my lunch hour (okay 1 ½ hour, 25 minutes is drive time home and back). Thanks for telling me what you did during P90X. I really need more lower body work too. Sorry to hear about your heel pain. I hope it’s not PF. I’ve been seriously thinking about the LV half. It is so appealing and DH has been wanting to go to LV for a while now. I will have to wait and see if we get the other dog, mentioned above, and if we can pawn the kids & dog(s) off on my wonderful inlaws. I’m sure they won’t mind. :)

Laurie – I love living vicariously through your massage experience with the “Mr. Hockey”. What a nice treat! I bet you appreciated his nice physique. :)

Christine – Welcome home! Did you get to enjoy NYC at all?

Jackie – Nice run today. Do you like iTread 7? I’m keeping a list of possible iTreads to buy, especially after todays great run.

ShellyC – Did your run cure your grogginess? It sounds like your body really needed the rest. You are so sweet to say my kids are lucky to have me. I feel I am the lucky one to have such great kids. You all are making me what to run the LV half. Actually if I sign up it will probably be more of a walk/run thing. I will have to see what happens in the dog department that I mentioned earlier and also see about the inlaws watching the dog(s) and kids. DH might want to go to LV too because he has never been. The last time I went was back in 2001 with my coworkers for a 4 day weekend of fun. Let’s just say my group left much to be desired. Their idea of fun was staying at the hotel drinking all day long. However, Mandalay Bay, where I stayed, was awesome and so was the strip.
