Good morning everyone,

Brrrr, it's chilly outside this am! Feels refreshing though!

Not much to say today, regular ole workday. It's my brother's birthday, so we are going out tonight and having a family celebration.

Ankle feels ok, still a bit sore if I roll it a certain way or bump it but the swelling is almost gone and the bruising is fading. Still have trouble dragging myself to the exercise bike--this is one form of cardio I really dislike! I posted on this forum this morning for any guidance on what exercises I should be able to do. I was thinking I would focus more on strength since cardio is usually limited in those rotations anyway. I am just unsure if I can do weighted leg work with this injury--what do you guys think? If it doesn't hurt while doing the leg exercises might it be ok? I am avoiding cardio with impact.

Last night was the pikes on the ball from KPC, and it was suggested in the rotation to do that twice. x( LOL I could only do those pikes once through. Some day I will be able to do those twice. :)

Today will be Step Fit and 20 min of Ab Hits. This is a good thing, the girls have swimming tonight and I need to do some cleaning. x(

Thea, I have never had a sprained ankle so I don't know what advice to give. I know some leg work doesn't involve ankles, but I wouldn't push it until you feel 100%.

Pedmom, I was looking at yesterdays thread. LOL You mean Cathe isn't really Wonder Woman!!!!! Now all my illusions are in the dust!!! :(

Hi Thea and everyone,

I'm glad to hear that your ankle is feeling better. I'd just take it slow with weight work... maybe try doing some of the exercises without weight initially, just to see how it feels with your ankle bending in different ways. I tend to have achilles tendon problems, which isn't the same as a sprained ankle but still painful, and I try to have an Ace ankle brace or something around when my achilles flares up to give it some added stability. Just take it slow.

I was so comfy this morning, I didn't get up to work out, so I'll do it tonight. The rotation calls for walking lunges, push-ups, dips, jumping jacks, etc., no DVD workout, so it should be a fun change. With today and tomorrow's workouts, I'll have finished the first week of this rotation, which I'm pretty proud of. Now I just have to work on my eating. I have been eating terribly lately, so I need to make that a focus. That's my problem: I can work out endlessly, but my willpower with food is tenuous at best.

Ellen - You and Laurie inspire me to take another look at the August rotation to see if there's anyway I can fit it in my schedule even if I don't do everything each day. :)

Thea - Have you tried squats or stationary lunges with light or even no weight? Do you have ankle weights? You could do inner/outer thigh work and also leg lifts for the quads (sitting).

Felt unmotivated to workout this morning but knew I had to do SOMETHING since I'd have NO TIME tomorrow. (Early appointment before work and then school registration tomorrow night - plus hubby is working overtime) Decided on Legs & Glutes standing premix with lighter weights. Haven't done this one for awhile so I forgot how good it makes my legs feel..........when it's all over that is! Will try to do some kind of cardio tonight and rest up so Thursday's workout can be a real calorie killer. }(

Thea, I'm glad your ankle is getting better so quickly. How about floor work? Do you have any workouts besides Cathe? I know she seems to focus more on standing leg work as opposed to lying. I have the Firm's Sculpted Buns Hips & Thighs and that's a really good lower body workout with no impact or standing.

Ellen-I'm with you. The exercise commitment is WAY easier to keep than the clean eating commitment!

Sue-I have that "I'm too busy too workout" feeling today! I had to take a rest day yesterday, so I really do NOT want to today. So I'm thinking I'll sneak it in. Have to take DS to football at 2:30 and be at school to work at the concession stand for volleyball at 4:30. I will squeeze something in then.

Today I did Cardio/weight just the cardio section and the abs section, since I am doing the "one part per day" rotation today was chest so that is what I did this morning. I am eating ok today...I did have a brownie that I made for my DH and DS...I just had to try one because I used 1/4 cup oil and 1/4 cup apple sauce(no sugar added) instead of 1/2 cup of oil. You could not tell the difference in the taste.

Thea I hope that your ankle gets better and wish your brother happy birthday for me.
 
Hi Everyone,
Still no workouts but happy to say I am finally seeing some improvement with my foot. I had to get the refill on the prednisone though. Swelling is better but wearing socks and or shoes just makes the itching worse.

Glad that the rest of you are doing so good. DH is in China and with the workers here, I am taking the dog to day camp. It is wearing him out. THe bathroom is moving alond but not very quickly. I am painting the shutters that we took off the house but in the basement so no chance of another sting. One more coat and they should be done and look beautiful!

Hi Jedi! Nothing more fun in the mailbox than a new workout! I pre-ordered the new ones. I'm hoping they'll be shipping soon since the presale ended on Saturday.
