Body Tape Measure?

I just did a quick Google search, and can't believe what those things cost!
Why couldn't you just use a simple cloth measuring tape? That is what I use, and they are cheap! Any fabric store, or Wal-Mart or even Long's/Rite Aid drug store has them. I am even sure a good grocery store could carry one. As a person who sews quite a bit, I know this is used just fine for measuring all sort of tailoring needs.
Unless there is something special about the other kinds out there.....save yourself some money
