Hey everyone! Hope I don't start a double thread now that the forums are up. Chris, so glad to hear things must have gone smoothly in the night -- honestly, were you able to get any sleep? Ug! Did you have fun with the visit last night?

Hottie, did you see my later post last night? Some STS answers.....

Today was legs for me, and instead of doing GS legs I did Squeeze Lower Body Challenge plus Exhale Core Fusion legs & glutes. My legs feel fried in a completely different way than Cathe fries them. Honestly, I'm not sure if this is going to work or not, but I really want to try it for a while. If you guys do end up with P57 or some sort of barre work, all I can say is that you need to stick with it a bit. It seems almost impossible at first, and in a way that makes it boring, but once you build up some of whatever it takes, it gets better. At least that's my experience.

I'm headed to get a crown this morning -- I'm actually really kind of irked about it -- I really feel like the dentist is just creating work for himself. I don't think I need it, and I think his colleague just filled that place about a year or so ago. I'm going to try to talk him out of it -- we'll see!

Hope everyone has a great day! Waves to Kathy, Joanne, and Vilma!

Hi Beth: I know I couldn't get in this morning..Thanks for starting us out. This has been my first chance to get on here.

Anyway, Today is legs for me too...I am doing Slow & Heavy legs and shoulders...And I am going to do an ab hits. I didn't get to it yesterday...

Be back later..

Ughhh....my neighbor changed the schedule and direction of his sprinklers. To hit my bedroom wall LOUDLY at 230a...for 30 minutes. No workouts for me and Joe this morning though I may head out to the school gym. I'll write back more once I'm settled...Have fun with your workouts Beth and Kathy!

Hey Everyone!!

I'm glad the site is back up, too!!!

yes, I survived the night. I'm hoping the boys did too. I guess they don't need medical attention, otherwise, they'd have called! LOL!. I'm just a little leary on how Zach handled his blood sugars and eating. Greg says I should give him a chance. I guess i can imagine the best for now. I do know, they are going to be dirty/icky and exhausted/cranky when they get home this afternoon, so maybe I should just enjoy the peace and quiet!!

It's funny, since Jake was our "only" last night, he just made me smile so much. He told us he felt like an "only child". He came out with some good ones. I asked him what it was called in baseball when there was someone on every base and the hitter hit a home run... he said, "The bases are juiced?". Where does he get this stuff? LOL!!!

So yeah, I got up this morning, and it was sooooo quiet. Almost scary quiet. Jake didn't get up until 9:30am!...

A 45 minute bike ride was on the rotation for today, instead , I went to the park and RAN for 40 Minutes!! It's a bit warm out, but not humid/sticky. A small breeze. My HR was UP there with little effort though, so I had to keep slowing myself down. Burned about 540 calories according to my HRM.

I really REALLY need to do my CPR today (1 hour online and then have to schedule a class through the hospital). It's required for my job (I wonder why? LOL!).

Hottie, I'm not sure if there's specific classes to learn about diabetes and emergencies. There are basically 2 emergencies someone with diabetes can have. Extremely HIGH blood sugar and LOW blood sugar. For high ones, the treatment is basically insulin and liquids. (Does your mom take insulin or pills?). If the sugar STAYS high and there are ketones in the urine, you really have to get that fixed. Ketones are kind of like "poison" in the blood and if left high too long can cause "ketoacidosis" , which can cause lethargy/coma. You just really have to monitor it closely to get it down. A LOW BLOOD SUGAR can cause lightheadedness/dizziness/shakiness/nausea even. The person will look really pale and can get sweaty and clammy. Of course, the first treatment would be a sugary drink (OJ, apple juice), anything high sugary, but without fat in it (the fat keeps the body from absorbing the sugar). If left low for too long or if it goes lower (and a person's tolerance of low sugars is low) they can pass out and the doctor has actually given us a sugar based injection to give with a needle in the skin (kind of like an epi pen) , IF he can not respond enough to drink juice.

wow..I've babbled a bit..sorry! Hope it helps though!

Hottie: Your KB workout sounded great from yesterday!!! I like that you added on the KM blasts!! ... but that sounds very tough and VERY sweaty! LOL!... And yes, it's in S&H, Bi's and Tri's that Cathe talks about a chihuahua and is just generally goofy! ... I like Joe's theory in entering all those raffles for work. has he won a lot?

Beth: I did order PHYSIQUE57 yesterday, and am anxious to try it! ... Sometimes I think my lower body would slim down with that kind of work and running as opposed to Cathe's weight work. Even the plyo stuff, but not heavy weights. I also had WICKED DOMS from GS chest. For some reason, nothing huge from S&H yet. It's weird, because I really shook and worked hard with S&H.

Kathy: Hope S&H Legs and shoulders goes good today! I'm looking forward to it tomorrow. I kind of forget what that workout consists of. I do know, there is no stability ball!

Hey to Vilma and Joanne!!!

I ended up finishing my book, "The Shack". it was interesting and made me think a lot. but some of it was over the top and was "enough already". I guess if you haven't read it, you have no idea what i'm talking about..LOL!

BBL!

Chris, it is so much fun just having one kid at a time for a change, isn't it? And yes, they say the funniest things! One time while camping Dylan said something I thought was really funny (coming from him) and I asked him where he got it and you know what he said?! "That's what you said yesterday, Mom." But it was funnier coming from him.

Hey, not to mess up the works, but I guess while I was gone, Sparrow finally posted her Jillian rotation which is actually a combo of Jillian and P90X. I would love to do that rotation -- did you see it? We'll see if I can make it through a whole round of STS without itching to do that......

oooh Beth... think we should do that while we wait for STS Cardio?

I haven't even seen it, but it sounds good, since P90X came in the mail yesterday!!!

But then , I WANT to do STS too !!!!!

That is too cute that Dylan repeated what you said but it sounded funnier! Love it!!

You guys are adorable -- so torn between rotations. I REALLY want STS cardio too and to it with the my new STS rotation but I really want to get through all of STS before my bday (Dec 24th). I was really hoping the tower was going to ship soon...SNM said end of August early September and I'm like IT'S APPROACHING COMEON!!! Let me know -- by forcing the date to start soon though I've been plowing through more 1RMs.

Chris -- Oh, I wish I could awaken the inner runner in me. Then I could go running with Joe and Evee and get my cardio on. Oh you all are going to do a Physique 57 rotation together -- I know it! ;) Maybe they'll release new DVDs come Xmas time on the success of these dvds. My mom takes one big ass Metformin pill a day. She's actually the only one in her family that doesn't take insulin. I think her biggest problem is from eating too little frankly but you know, what do I know? It's not like I bothered to explain to her WHY the pathways work the way they do....nooo, we need to go to the doctor to say exactly the same thing I say but pay him for it oh and you only go to the doctor because I harass you...<pant>...ok, yeah, my mom and taking care of herself is a sore point. Its actually sorta cool now -- I'm reaching this point in my relationship with them where I'm no longer a child and they respect and ask for my opinion on matters (usually its my dad and me talking about money though) but there are these other frustrating moments where its like, LISTEN TO ME!! And then reverting a ten year old probably doesn't help...

Beth -- yes, I did read what you wrote! Thank you for the comments. I actually think I may be the opposite of you -- cardio keeps my hunger at bay and strength training makes me ravenous! But I'm really happy to know about the warm ups. It's not the "same warmup" thing that got me, it was the same warmup that doesn't warm me up thing about CLX that got me. I want my tower, I want my tower too!!! Gosh your kids sound so cute!! Oh the next time I go up to northern CA I'll just have to crash your place! Oh and I totally don't believe dentists anymore. My new strategy is to get a plan from my current dentist and then going to the dentist place on campus to ask them if its really necessary. I swear, when I have kids, I am forcing them to brush their teeth 8x/day!

Kathy -- hope you enjoyed your workout! I'm actually getting excited about one day being able to do Cathe leg workouts!

Oh and Joanne -- TOM started today. I think you might have pushed me earlier than usual. ;) period sistahs!!

Not adorable -- just plain crazy! I wonder if other checkin groups rethink their rotations as much as we do.

Well, I'm back from the dentist. I feel like crap. I guess it doesn't help that I've been up since 4:15, but having all that drilling going on, well, it's just no fun. He did convince me that if not now, it would be necessary very soon. Oh well. Good luck on getting kids to brush their teeth 8x a day, Hottie. :p

The STS warmups are sufficient, I think. Ok, I want to go take a nap now.... (it won't happen, but I can dream......)

Hey Girls...

Just got off the phone lining up sitters for this weekend. Ally, my pregnant gal, is feeling a lot better and up to coming! I'm happy for her AND me! :)

Hottie: Ohhhh... what don't you like about running? I swear, ANY runner will tell you, the first 10 minutes SUCKS .. it feels like you're huffing and puffing and cant' breath and you don't WANT to run, but then "it" kicks in, and you feel so much better and it's enjoyable!... try it!... I gotcha on your mom and trying to give advice. My mom does the SAME thing to me, and I'M a NURSE and have experience, yet she still won't believe me. LOL!... I love her to bits!... LOL @ you and Joanne being period sista's!

Beth: oh my gosh on your dental work. I'm sorry, hope you got a little rest!!!

Yeah I wonder if others struggle with what the heck workouts they're going to do. I check in with Fitness Freaks group and they don't seem as confused as we are, Beth! LOL! And now I'm thinking...I don't think I have all of Jillian's DVDs either... *sigh*..what to do , what to do!

I meant to tell you , we had a lot of fun at the boys' camp's Family Night. The kids were LOUD and COOKY and SILLY , it was really funny. And yes, they both survived and are home safe and sound now. Zach's blood sugar at midnight was 74 , and he ate sugar tabs, and then he was up until 2am, and got up at 7am... so he didn't even have TIME to get a low blood sugar! LOL!!

OMG, that's crazy about the bootlegged copies of Cathe DVD's!!!! Tony Horton has been ranting about how Costco has been illegally selling P90X , and even after they were TOLD not to, they took them off the shelf, and then days later put them back on! He was LIVID!

Okay, gotta go and get ready to watch Big Brother!!!

Chris, I think we should probably stick with STS as we had planned.... we can tackle that other rotation another time. I think I'm intimidated by STS this time!! Hey, are you going to use the weights you used last time around, or try to go heavier? Honestly, I'm not sure I could go heavier, even though I know I made gains, if that makes any sense!!

Yeah, I fell asleep reading and when I woke up and saw that blog headline I really did for a split second think it was some sort of April Fool's joke at Tony..... one split second later I remembered that Cathe is far too classy for that.....
