Any personal trainers work out with Cathe? sorry.. long

Hi, I post here occasionally and just wanted to know if there are any personal trainers/fitness professionals who prefer to work out to Cathe vids rather than training themselves at the gym. I actually started using Cathe videos before I became a personal trainer (or had access to a gym). I'm currently self-employed and train clients at a small gym in my area. At first I tried doing my workouts at the gym, but soon found that they lacked the intensity that I got when I did a Cathe workout. Also, since the gym is small and everyone knows each other, I would constantly have people coming up to me wanting to ask questions or just to talk during my workouts. Don't get me wrong I love helping people get fit and that's the reason why I became a pt in the first place, but I also need a little ME time too :) . I feel like since I train people all day at the gym the last thing I want to do is train myself there! Sorry this post got long, I was just wondering if others felt the same way.

I am not a personal trainer yet (will be in April) but I was a certified step instructor a few years ago and I felt the same way then as you do now. I would do my workouts at home in the morning with Cathe rather than expecting to get a good workout at the gym. If I tried to do another instructor's class, I often got frustrated because they weren't as good as Cathe at cueing, phrasing, choreography, etc. For weights, the problem of people dropping by to talk is often a problem -- especially in smaller gyms. I understand what you mean about the "ME" time. Maybe try wearing headphones when doing weights. Normally people will not try to engage you in conversation when you are wearing them. Or perhaps find a different gym where you don't train clients so that you can do your own workouts there. Otherwise, I certainly don't think you're missing anything. Cathe's workouts are still my absolute favorite even though I go to the gym everyday.

Hey Shonie,

I use Cathe workouts and I am a personal trainer. I feel the same way you do -- that if I workout by myself, it lacks the intensity of Cathe pushing you along. But, I also workout at my gym for change of pace and to keep the ol' muscles guessing . Some days though, I just want to get home and workout instead of hanging around the gym or I workout before I go

P/T

Hi I'm a P/T and I can't start my day without my very own personal trainer CATHE!!!!!!
She simply gets the job done ;-) No need to look any further }(

I'm not a personal trainer either, but I've been an ACE-certified group fitness instructor for over 6 and a half years, and Cathe is the key to the success of my land cardio and leg power program. I prefer to do my own thing when it comes to strength training, although I do steal Cathe's lifts all the time :9 ; however, for cardio and (mostly) ab training I don't do anything BUT Cathe on land, at home.

I love the balance between the sociability of the aqua classes I instruct (and perform; I'm in the pool doing the workout as I'm leading the class) and the solitary, just-for-me aspect of home land training with La Cathe. Plus, I have never seen a live studio instructor who challenges me like Cathe does.
