Accuracy of Fitday.com?

Hi everyone! I've been tracking my foods and activities at Fitday.com now for almost a month because I'm trying to stagger my calorie intake and track the carb/pro/fat ratios to help gain muscle and lose fat. It seems to be a good way to do this, but how accurate is it? I know that nothing like this is ever going to be 100% accurate, but is it even close? I just thought that maybe those of you who know alot about nutrition and calorie burning might know. Thanks for any input!!:7

I think it's pretty close, but you're probably better off entering lots of custom foods so that you know for sure. That's what I do.

What about the calculation of calories burned? It tells me every day that I'm burning a lot more calories that I'm consuming, but I'm not losing weight. Maybe it's muscle gain, but I don't know. Just curious. ;)

I use to visit fitday all everyday but I decided to give it up.I didn't think that the info was accurate.I was always under my calorie range but I never lost any weight. But I think that there was one day,in particular, where I knew it was wayyyyyyy off, so I gave it up and just counted cals myself.

Not totally sure of the accuracy of their food calories/grams, I have never had reason to question it, but I do think the "calories burned today" is off, which could affect your results.

Mine says 2453 calories for me, which I think is off, and is way too high. Based on some other calculators I think I am closer to 2000 for the average day. Then you need a 3500 calorie deficit per whatever (say, week) to lose 1 lb (per week). or 500 cals a day to lose 1 lb a week.
