If you are considering reading Ayn Rand...

I also thought Gary Cooper was an odd choice for the film version of "The Fountainhead," though his performance was a nice one. And while I like Patricia Neal, I pictured an icy Hitchcock blonde in the role. But Partricia did a good job as Dominique, giving off the right amount of wit and...

If you are considering reading Ayn Rand...

Oh, boy. I really enjoyed "The Fountainhead," I really did. Sure, I don't think I'd have missed truncated versions of the 3-4 page diatribes made by Toohey and other wordy characters, but I did like the book. That said - THE WOMAN NEEDED AN EDITOR! And her screenplay for the film version was...

    Killer Cardio to Compliment STS

Cathe, we all know you are THE one to turn to for killer at-home cardio. Since you usually film your workouts in a relatively short time period, I think doing a series of crazy balls-to-the-wall all high-impact cardio is asking too much of you and your amazing crew. So how 'bout a mix of...

    4DS - Heavy Weights Legs & Core

I, too, love 4DS legs. Just did it this morning, in fact. I love the controlled movements in this one. I even get DOMS from this workout. Because it's short, and because it's done at a slower pace, I can really heavy up on my weights. I also love 4DS's KB abs section. This workout series is...

    Bento's In the Ring--hmmmmmmmmm..........

RE: For those of you who own weighted gloves... Monse: Could you please tell me what brand of gloves you wear during your kickboxing workouts? TIA! Marcia

BLOOPERS, OUTTAKES - WHERE ARE THEY??

I know Cathe and SNM had to omit the warm up from that super tough premix from B&G so there'd be enough room for it on the DVD. I'd hate to lose out on premixes or quality of picture to make room for bloopers. Just one person's opinion...

    Bento's In the Ring--hmmmmmmmmm..........

For those of you who own weighted gloves... What brand do you recommend, and where did you purchase them? I have a 1 lb pair and a 2 lb pair I purchased from TJ Maxx. While they are fine for weight lifting and ab work, the velcro slips and the stitching is coming off from wearing them while...

    The results of bodybuilding...

Wow. That is a lot of work Tneah - you can truly be proud of your dedication, commitment, and accoplishments. You really impress me. I am quite chubby right now. I was never as cut as you are in that photo, but I used to be at a much lower body fat percentage than I am now. Again, not as...

    Cathe in the blogs

I'm not trying to sway your opinion, but I always thought Cathe's arms looked very buff (not bulky) in Kick Max. I thought her arms were wicked big (again, not bulky, just very pumped and defined) in the Hardcore Series. I think her arms look that way in BM2, DM, B&G, LIC, and in 4DS, too...

Right Arm Different 1RM Than Left Arm

Thank you for the replies! I will do as you both suggested and add extra sets to my weaker side (with proper rest, of course). I do use dumbbells for all upper body work, still my right arm is definitely stronger. But your advice was wonderful. Hopefully, my left arm will be closer or equal...

Will 2 days of cardio be enough?

Here's hoping this question will be answered in Cathe's next series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right Arm Different 1RM Than Left Arm

Hello. In trying various exercises, looking for my 1RM, I've found that my right arm can typically lift 2 to 5 lbs heavier than my left. I'd really like for my left to catch up to my right without losing strength in my right arm. Any advice, educated crowd?? Thanks! Marcia

    Power Hour Shoulder Routine

I was going by fun. If I went by torture, it would look like this: Legs: Muscle Max (for some reason, the squats followed directly by the lunges gets me every time) Chest: LIC or Body Max (or those $%&* pushups from Body Blast Timesaver!!!!!) Shoulders: MIS Back: Muscle Endurance (my...

    Power Hour Shoulder Routine

Fun thread, lady! Only going by DVDs that work more than one body part (as I love B&G and PLB for legs), here are my favorites: Legs: Muscle Endurance Chest: Muscle Max Triceps: High Step Training Advanced and Low Intensity Circuit (tie) Back: Pure Strength Back, Biceps and Abs...

    I ordered Plate Mates!

Advice??? I have the 1.25# Plate Mates and a few of the magnets are loose. When I remove them from my dumbbells, the loose magnets will stay attached the dumbbells. I've tried metal glue, super glue, etc. Anybody have any suggestions? I can still use them, it's just a little annoying...

Waah! I "popped" my stability ball

RE: Waah! I Hey - do you have a Marshall's or TJMaxx in your area? My 4 year old niece popped both of my stability balls (I had a 55 cm and a 65 cm) about two years ago. I went to TJMaxx the next day and found a 55 cm for $12. Recently, I bought a 65 cm at Marshalls for $13. Good luck.

    bodymax substitute?

Hmmm... Body Max and Body Max 2 are, roughly, a 8 min warm up, 25 min of steady state step, 20 min. of step/leg circuits, 20 min of upper body work, followed by 8 min of abs, and then a well-deserved stretch. Based on the DVDs you have, you could do the LIS step segment, then the Body Max...

Personal question, but I really need advice...

Again, thank you so very much for all of your replies, experience, and feedback. Kathryn - to address your question, I think my husband is still holding out hope for a baby. He tells me that he agrees now is not the time for us and that it's wise for us to have held off, but I'm in my mid...
